The LIVING ROOM rises up over two stories with vaulted cathedral ceilings of massive hand-picked fir beams and antique brass fittings. A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace includes a cavernous hearth for roaring wood fires and rustic mantel filled with antiques. Two deep leather chairs look out over the wall of windows to Olema Valley, one of the most abundant bird-watching locales on the coast. A Bose stereo and stock of CDs and plentiful candles complete the romantic but expansive space.
Stroll past the front FOYER with twig love-seat for two and antique bridge lamps into the equally expansive FAMILY ROOM. Another floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace caps the room, alongside a 42' HDTV complete with VCR/DVD/Cable and GameCube, with over 80 movies to select. The massive deep sectional couch surrounds a Ralph Lauren table and antique board games. A door leads to the two-car GARAGE filled with sporting equipment, games and toys.
THE KITCHEN is open, true California style, with a wrap-around sunny breakfast nook loaded with rooster red pillows and cushions to seat ten for coffee and snacks. An antler chandelier lights the open area beside an antique dry sink cupboard filled with basic cooking supplies and condiments. The kitchen was completely remodeled in 2008 with a long concrete countertop and the latest in appliances: a six-burner gas Wolf Range and oven with hood, a GE refrigerator with icemaker and filtered water, dishwasher, antique farmhouse sink, Water Works fixtures. Coffee maker, cappuccino maker, holiday and feasting pots and pans included. Rustic and fine dining utensils, plates and serving bowls make any cooking event an elegant breeze. A small POWDER ROOM is tucked off the kitchen.
The DINING ROOM is a step away with a Spanish Baroque table that seats eight. An antique library cabinet filled with festive china and antiques sits in the corner and antique waterfowl prints adorn the tongue-in-groove wood panels in deep hunter green. A massive antler chandelier on a dimming switch enables you to create any mood at dinner.
Follow the carpeted stairs past the wildlife and nature prints to the MASTER BEDROOM, the showcase room of Fox Lodge. Wall-to-wall sea grass carpet, thick Woolen plaid Roman shades stretch across three massive windows that look out across the Olema Valley and east to Sonoma. Ralph Lauren and Williams Sonoma Home furnishings create cozy elegance for resting, reading and remembering. A Bose stereo with romantic and meditational music is provided. The huge WALK-IN CLOSET includes a portable massage table, two terry robes, a library of local books and dressing cabinets.
The MASTER BATHROOM is floored in blue slate, with a massive open stone shower. A 19th century French claw foot bathtub is tucked between two windows that look over pines and firs. Antique cabinets and sink with Water Works fixtures and a lighthouse print by a local Point Reyes artist.
Continue up to the top floor, past the large Hawk print. A BEDROOM with a Ralph Lauren Queen Bed awaits, with a collection of antique birdcalls. Another BATHROOM with double trench sink, tub and shower, also floored in blue slate, lies around the corner. A LAUNDRY ROOM with washer, dryer, ironing board and cleaning supplies is at the end of the long hallway.
Down the opposite end of the hall are two more bedrooms. A THIRD BEDROOM includes a twin-over-full bunk bed, desk, rocking chair and antique games. A FOURTH BEDROOM includes a twin-over-full bunk bed, TV, a closet chocked full of stuffed animals, books, toys and games. These rooms are perfect for guests with children, or nostalgic adults.
A large wooden deck extends outside the kitchen door, complete with Green Egg Bar-B-Que grill and open-air fire pit. A picnic table with benches in included for outdoor dining, or take your wine and cheese in the side-by-side swings under the pines.

This house is a wonderful getaway - perfectly situated near the town of Point Reyes and the beautiful national seashore. It's a perfectly appointed house with lots of space - big bedrooms, great bathrooms/kitchen outfitted like a luxury hotel with roaring fireplaces, scenic views, a fun backyard for the kids and lots to do nearby. The description was completely accurate, and the photos too. If you love the outdoors, this is a perfect spot to visit - hiking out to see the wildlife at the seashore, the lighthouse, and the cute little visitors center where our young kids did the "ranger" certification - awesome!! Probably 4-5 great little restaurants in town, and a NOT to be missed bovine bakery & cow girl creamery. Our family (older and younger) LOVE this place!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you very much for providing us with such a fantastic escape from the non-stop whirlwind of everyday life. As always, the Lodge is immaculately clean, warm, and inviting. The personal touches you provide with games, books, and a bottle of wine make us feel very welcome. We love the fantastic view of the local landscape, and the fact we're within a short skip and a hop from Point Reyes and Olema, the beach, and nearby hiking areas. Most importantly for us, we greatly enjoy being able to relax and just do 'nothing' with very comfy beds and couches. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to stay at such a great getaway house that's not too far from the immediate Bay Area.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Fox lodge is an amazing house, well appointed and the master suite rivals many of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. I would highly recommend Fox Lodge.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Had the greatest time at the Fox Lodge with a few buddies. Picked up a huge sack of oysters from Tomales bay and spent pretty much the entire weekend on the patio shucking shellfish, grilling steaks, and enjoying cold beers. It's even walking distance from town, if you like walking, which I do. The inside of the house had the scent of freshly cut wood, presumably because that's what it's made out of. Couldn't recommend the Fox Lodge more highly.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Three generations came for the weekend to commemorate a 70th, 35th, 5th and 1st birthday and we couldn’t have found a better spot to celebrate. The layout is open and comfortable, with enough room to congregate or spread out. The kitchen was well stocked and there were amenities for all ages (including bins and boxes of toys, movies, books, games for all ages and even useful gear for shucking oysters). We spent the weekend relaxing, laughing, cooking and playing and can’t wait to come back next year to celebrate some other milestone birthdays. Thank you for making it such a wonderful stay for all involved (even the pickiest among us)!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We wanted to get back to you to say a heartfelt thank you from all of us for letting us stay at Fox Lodge this past weekend. The lodge is beautiful and spotless, with thoughtful touches throughout. We all really liked the layout of the house that worked nicely with our large group being able to spread out comfortably yet be near enough to talk. We loved the kitchen and created some memorable gourmet meals with a lot of us who like to cook being able to participate. Everyone was very comfortable and our surprise party was a fabulous, memorable affair. We all wished for more time together there, and we hope to come back again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Fox Lodge is one of those homes that you wish was your own to share with your family, loved ones, or a loved one..... The Fox Lodge is both warm and sophisticated - and not far from the "city" of San Francisco. The house is perfect for friends, families, or just two friends to spend a weeklong vacation or romantic get-a-way. There is little that has not been considered at Fox Lodge. I couldn't help but think about how I might next come back to the house with more friends or family. I have worked in the interior design world for 12_+ years have been fortunate to travel the world over, I hope to escape to the Point Reyes Coast Again at the Fox Lodge !!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We brought our family of six, 2 adults and 4 grown kids to this house for Christmas last year and found it very comfortable and lovely. Plenty of room for everyone, two wonderful fireplaces and plenty of space to play and just hang out. And the bathtub in the master bathroom was to die for. I spent most late afternoons soaking in the tub and looking out at the trees. Good place for walks, or even swimming in the ocean on Christmas Day. Kitchen is gourmet and has everything you might need. Easy to find and Pt Reyes is a charming town to poke around in. I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at Fox Lodge in Aug 2008 as the last part of our Grand Canyon/Las Vegas/California vacation. Fox lodge is situated in a wonderful location and very quiet. I loved the interior of the house especially the master bedroom, which had an amazing view to wake up to and an beautiful en suite bathroom. Everything was included from china and kitchen utensils to bed linen and towels. All we arrived with was our luggage. Point Reyes Station is next to Point Reyes National Park. Close enough to drive to Napa and Sonoma and easy to drive up the coastal roads. The whole family, ages 15 - 51 had a great stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We have traveled to many destinations both in and out of the States, Many of the retreats where we vacationed were exactly what they were advertized to be but some were not. The Fox Lodge is in a category of its own. The grounds and especially the home exceeded our expectations and was indeed everything it was professed to be and more. We called the Fox Lodge "elegant" with its upgraded appliances and comfortable furnishings. We loved the great room with the floor to ceiling stone fireplace. The location is ideal and so close to San Francisco but our purpose was to use our time at the Lodge for a quiet getaway; which we did. Next time we are fortunate enough to vacation in Point Reyes, we plan on bringing family with us.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
