This condo ruined our vacation. When we arrived the refrigerator had not been turned on and smelled horrible; the air had also not been turned on and was 94 degrees temp inside the condo. It took 24 hours for the refrigerator to get to the proper temperature and we had groceries. The deadbolt did not work on the door and both sliding glass doors that connected to the patio did not work at all. The main shower did not drain. The telephones did not work. When I tried to contact the owner he told me that I was being "too picky"! This enraged me because with the sliding glass doors not locking someone could have easily gotten into our bedroom; however, his response was that Edgewater was the safest place in the world and no one would climb into the bedroom. Does he ever watch the news? Does he see the women and men murdered all of the time in all locations? Very disappointing and we were celebrating something very special in our lives. Do not rent from him until he gets his condo up to CODE!!!!!Owner response: First and foremost, we are very disappointed that our guests were not happy with their stay in our condo unit. We have a lofty goal of 100% guest satisfaction. Obviously, we fell well short in this case. We are terribly sorry. It seems that the specifics mentioned were simple items that could have been remedied in a short period of time. It is pretty obvious that what upset our guests the most is the conversation with us that came across as uncaring and insincere. Again, we are sorry. We have a 25-year track record of owning and renting four units at Edgewater Beach Resort. We have never received a negative review. Our father founded this company and has successfully managed the units. He has built the business largely on repeat business and word of mouth referrals. We are keenly aware of keeping the units updated and maintained. We are constantly replacing furniture, fixtures, appliances, kitchen smallwares, etc. We realize that while Edgewater has the finest facilities and amenities in the business, our units have to remain top notch. We will go back and evaluate all of our service companies. We will make sure that the attention to detail that our guests expect and deserve is achieved. Also, we will work more on listening to our guests and being more open to feedback and criticism.
