Our stay at the condo was comfortable and conveniently located. Cute and accommodating, we had everything we needed. Directly across the street iis the humpback whale sanctuary where we watched whales , turtles and dolphins daily. The staff and other tenants were helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here and recommends his little place. Wonderful experience!

Perfect getaway

The condo was the perfect retreat for our vacation. The beach was right across the street and there were boogie boards, beach chairs, and a cooler available to make for a great day at the beach. The condo was also very centrally located and relatively close to grocery shopping and the airport. Having a washer/dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator available really helped cut down on costs. Also the condo was very clean and comfortable.

Relaxing and quiet getaway, perfect "home away from home"

While vacations are wonderful, (and stays in Hawaii extra wonderful!) they can sometimes be overwhelming - trying to scramble out of bed before room service comes knocking every morning, paying $15-$20 per head for each meal, getting by with a mini-fridge and a coffee pot for 3-7 days - we've all been there. So my fiancee and I decided to try a different approach this trip; we decided to FORCE ourselves to be low-key. No rental car, no activities booked ahead of time, and, most essentially, a place to stay that felt like it was ours, even if only for a few days. Glenn's condo in the Kihei Bay Vista flew above and beyond all of our expectations. With hardwood floors, comfy furniture, spacious bathroom and kitchen, and beach-themed decorations, it really felt like we were staying in a welcoming temporary home. It was also surprisingly cool and breezy inside; we never once turned on the air conditioning, despite the 80 degree heat outside. We were able to walk the 1 mile to the grocery store - also near a wide variety of bars and restaurants! - and came home with enough food to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for ourselves in the fully-stocked kitchen for our 3-day stay (and paid a fraction of what we would have spent eating out). We enjoyed our morning coffee out on the peaceful lanai, making friends with both the resident gecko and the wonderful neighbors. We walked across the street to the quiet and secluded beach - right next to the whale sanctuary! - and on Saturday hopped a bus up to Lahaina (about a 40 minute ride) for a day of exploring, shopping, and treating ourselves to dinner and mai tais. We have never felt more welcomed, relaxed, or reluctant to leave a vacation spot, and I don't think we'll ever stay anywhere else on Maui again! Thank you, Glenn, for the unforgettable vacation.

My husband and I stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary. This condo surpassed our expectations. The energy was amazing. The condo was warm, very clean, great location and had all the amenities we required including surfboards, chairs, etc. We would recommend this gem to anyone in a flash! As there is a bay across the street, we were able to sit and watch the whales - what a treat! The beach was quieter than most and beckoned us to take long walks along it. Sleeping was great as we did not hear any noise from the outside, an important requirement for us. Great value! You won't be disappointed!

This was our 4th stay at this condo and it just keeps getting better and better with all the upgrades being done. The bed was very comfortable and the unit very clean. A little dissappointed the jacuzzi was out of order but sure that will be taken care of soon. Other than that it was perfect. Pizza Madness down the road makes a great pizza! We will be back again next year.

We had fun whale watching and enjoying the many beaches, also we made use of all the amenities the condo had to offer such as 2 large flat screen TV’s, full size washer & dryer & the sofa bed was very comfortable, The pool and grounds were great also. This was a much better deal than staying at a hotel and a lot less crowded I hope to return someday and will definitely stay at your place again thanks for the great deal.

Great Location

We have stayed at this property before but in a different unit. In comparison, we were quite happy with the quiet of the complex and the condo was very well-equipped. We noticed that there were comments about the bed and how it is very hard and we have to echo those comments. It is a very uncomfortable bed to sleep on for two weeks. We also found the pillows to be worn and had no support so we ended up buying new ones and left them there. The outside property itself is extremely well maintained and clean but our biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the unit. We called the property management company to come and clean the very visible dust on the walls and ceiling of the bathroom. The fixtures were clearly not polished. Everything could have used a very thorough cleaning. The walls and appliances need a good scrubbing and there were remnants of renovation items in the closet that could be taken out of the unit. Our expectations are pretty basic and we have been to Kihei 5 times so we know what a good and clean unit should look like. We were a little disappointed with this one.

Owner response:Thank you Darlene for your review, There has been a brand new Sealy Posturepedic Roseville plush queen mattress set from Costco installed in our condo on January 5th 2012 this will make a big difference in the softness. It also claims to provide a soft, cushioning surface with deep support. I am really disappointed that our unit was not clean upon your arrival. Our property managers are suppose to have the unit cleaned and ready for our guests on arrival. I have contacted my property manager and shared this review about the cleanliness of our condo so hopefully going forward dust and other issues will be addressed properly. If these conditions persist we will look for new property managers. We work to improve our unit every time we visit. This spring we are planning on updating the bathroom with new tile paint and lighting.

This property was very centrally located and had pretty much everything needed. My only compliants are the hard bed and the furniture is also not comfortable. The cushions on the couch are flattened as are the wicker chairs. It is a very quite property and across the street from a good walking beach.

This condo is a good value at a reasonable price the kitchen fully equipped; we ate a number of our meals in so the kitchen was a huge plus for us. Conveniently located close to beaches & restaurants other amenities include a full size washer & dryer that were nice to have before packing to go home. The condo was clean the kitchen well equipped and the pool and grounds were immaculate. Being centrally located, we were easily able to enjoy the whole island on day trips. The beach park across the street was great for watching the gorgeous sunsets. Your recommendation to stop and stock up on things at Costco or Walmart as we were leaving the airport was a fantastic idea. This was our first trip to Maui we hope to return next year thanks for the use of your condo.

Tonight is our last night and we don’t want to go? We had a fabulous time! We found the condo to be clean and in good shape. We recently stayed at this condo it was large & clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the decor was very cute. The lanai was nice & quiet it was a great place to relax and enjoy the tropical breeze. The Condominium grounds are very lush & tropical the 2 gas grills were nice & clean and great to cook on. The condo was excellent! Clean, comfortable and looks just like the pictures. It was conveniently located close to shops, beaches and restaurants and only a short distance from the airport. The pool was great to relax by when not doing other activities. The condo's location made driving around that much easier. The Molokini snorkeling tour was awesome and several local restaurants such as Fred’s for Mexican food & Moose McGillicuttys If you drive over to Lahaina go Whaler's Village & the Hula grill it’s on the beach and has live entertainment nightly.

We love Maui

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our recent stay in this pleasant condo. It is located in a nice, quiet location of Kihei Bay Vista and just a few steps to the swimming pool & BBQ’s the grounds are well-kept. The condo is pleasantly decorated in Tropical marine theme and is comfortable in all respects. There are also various restaurants to choose from within a few blocks of the condo, but of course the condo’s kitchen is fully equipped to cook at home if one should prefer to do that. As for us, we fixed our own breakfast and lunch, and for dinner we either dined out or BBQ at the condo." We really felt "at home" in the condo and we’ll be back in the same condo for sure next time we go to Maui

Wonderful Maui

I have been returning to this same unit for 5 years. It has a great location near many beaches and shopping. There is a beach across the street and down a block that is wonderful for a morning walk or watching the sunset. This unit is very clean and has a beautiful tropical decor, The full size washer and dryer are a plus. I love the pool, hot tub and BBQ. The lanai is a great place for eating and reading, very private. Some thing new this year is a luau one block away, It is one of the best I have been to. I do recomend this condo to my friends. Thanks Glenn for letting us stay in your beautiful unit again this year. We will be back.

Great central location, and very good value

My wife and I stayed for 3wks and loved the place. The location was especially convenient as a central spot to visit beaches in both West Maui and South Maui. Less than 10 miles to the farthest south beach (Big Beach), and about 25min to Kaanapali. Across the street and a couple blocks to the north was a nice long walking beach, which was good to watch sunsets. (Recommend other beaches for swimming/snorkeling though.) The kitchen and food/supplies from Costco made it economical for a longer stay. Loved having the washer/dryer in-room for easy laundry. We liked the unit's Lainai, that was back far enough to avoid road noise, and not overlooking the pool was a plus for us, to have pleasant private evening meals. For beach going, there were 2 boogie boards and 2 beach chairs, and beach towels. That made beach life extra easy. :) Compared price with other nearby properties, and confirmed our original opinion that this was a very good price relative to other places. The unit was well maintained. It was a nice relief to confirm in-person that it really did match how well things looked in the photos, and wasn't a low price for a hidden reason. Other ideas for things we did nearby: * There was a farmers market about 1 mile north for fresh fruit/veggies. * Visited many of the beaches using Maui Revealed book. Maluaka (near Makena Landing) was nice surprise, with restroom and good parking. With no sign on road, it wasn't crowded. Mostly enjoyed Big Beach and Poolenalena in the South. Very good snorkeling at Maluaka (turtles) and Poolenalena. Free parking was harder to get close at the West beaches, but still did that a few times. * Stella Blues had great fresh fish and we were surprised by 20% off when order before 6pm. (Lots of nearby other restaurants south in Kihei.) * Did "Road to Hana". Used the "Hanson Rd shortcut" right at the SugerMill, and avoided driving through the city driving to get started.

This was our 3rd stay in this condo unit. We love the location, pool, jacuzzi, BBQ grill and all the amenities the unit provides. The rates are reasonable and it's located in the back of the complex so it's pretty quiet and private. Staying at this condo is like staying at a friends house...everything you need is there. The new laminate flooring is beautiful. The condo has always been very clean and the property well cared for. We really enjoy walking over to the NOAA Whale Center across the street to watch whales & sunsets. We disovered this last trip that it's cheaper to buy produce from the local farmers markets and Pizza Madness down the road makes a great pizza. I hate to say anything negative about this condo because I really enjoy staying there but I have to admit the queensize bed is not as comfortable as I would like it to be. Could just be me as I'm use to a foam mattress, not a spring mattress. But that will not keep me from staying here again. We will be back again next winter.

Exactly what was advertised

We spent 6 nights in this condo and were very pleased. It was clean, comfortable and quiet and had all of the essentials. Although it's not on the beach, it's in a good location in Kihei where the beaches are very close and it's easy to go to Lahaina or Paia. When we come to Maui, we spend most of the day at the beach, or sightseeing somewhere on the island. We look for a quiet place to sleep, eat breakfast and dinner, and to do our laundry. Otherwise, we're out! This apartment was perfect for that type of vacation and the price was right. I would highly recommend it to others.

Great condo in a wonderful location for a great price this condo is awesome it is located in a nice quiet part of the complex and is centrally located you can walk to town if you want but drive your car because you will probably buy souvenirs. The condo is nice and roomy inside and is decorated in a tropical marine theme with a nice large TV, I will definitely be back

Charming condo in an ideal location

The condo is literally across the street from a lovely stretch of beach and is minutes away from the center of Kihei Town. The unit is charming, furnished in what one might think of as a "tropical / marine" scheme. It is also very quiet, being set back from the street and a few steps away from the complex's pool and spa area.

This is the second time staying at KBV, and our best experience yet. The unit is the perfect base for a relaxing vacation in Maui. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The complex is small enough that you don't have trouble parking or transporting groceries, etc to your unit. This particular unit is in a place where you do not face anyone else, so while you don't have the ocean view, you have the peace and quiet and privacy that some of the other units don't have. We spent many hours on the lanai reading, and thouroughly enjoyed every minute. With the ocean right across the street, you have the best of both worlds. The value of this condo is unmatched in my opinion and we will stay there again when we visit Maui. If you don't think you can afford Maui, you can with this great condo.

I enjoyed staying at your condo again this year it is very nicely decorated in the tropical theme; the Lanai is very private I spent a lot of time out there,and in the pool.The location is great close to many stores and restrants. One of my favorite restrants is Moose McMillycuddys where you can eat and watch the sunset. We also enjoyed Ulla Beach where the water is calm and the snorkeling is great. I will defiantly keep coming back to your condo. Thank you for letting us stay it was a wonderful vacation.

We originally had another condo booked and got short notice that it was no longer available. Glen came through for us and we were able to preserve our vacation plans. We like to be out and about a lot so didn't spend a lot of time at the condo but it was a great location: close to just about everything. We did use the sauna at nights and barbequed a couple of times. Used the internet and the sofa bed. The main bed was very comfortable (a welcome relief from the other condo we used the previous week). Laundry at the condo was great as was the dishwasher. Went across to the beach often to watch whales or enjoy the sunset. All in all, a great place to stay or use as a base. I look forward to using this again some year (2011?).

Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed taking our meals on the cozy lanai, listening to the birds. We loved being able to do our laundry without having to leave! The location is perfect - close to everything we wanted to do, and the condo itself is set back far from streets, so it's nice and quiet. We will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stayed in February 2010. The unit was nicely decorated with a tropical theme and the Gas BBQ’s where great for cooking a few meals instead of going out for dinner every night this helped us save some money to spend on other things like souvenirs and a snorkeling trip. Thank you for giving us such a good deal we will be coming back. Don & Jennifer

My son and I stayed here August 29th thru September 5th, 2010. Nice clean unit close to everything. We came to Maui to get my Son certified for scuba diving. The condo is 10 minutes from the boat ramp. Everything you need and more for your stay in Maui! Just bring your tooth brush and swim suit. We had a great time. I will be calling Glenn for our future stays in Maui. Cheers, Bryan

Very clean and well kept condo. Location is great; beach across the street and only a couple of blocks from several other beaches and downtown Kihei. All the amenities you need are there for a relaxing, quiet vacation. Pool, grass grill BBQ, putting green. If you plan to visit Maui this is the place to stay and take full advantage of what this beautiful island has to offer.

Thank you Glen for letting us stay at your condo for our Maui vacation. We found the condo to be very clean and comfortable. There was everything we needed for making family meals and we really enjoyed all of the island decor! The condo is in a very quiet part of the complex and we felt like the area was very safe. The staff at the front office were very friendly and helpful. We will definetly recommend you to any friends or family planning to visit Maui in the future. Thanks again!

Large 800 Square foot contemporary well maintained and nicely furnished unit is one of the quietest in complex with private balcony which does not face other balconies or the pool.Half a mile north is a 1 mile long beach great for swimming and walks and not crowded like many beaches to the south.Living room sofa bed was comfortable when the mattress was on the carpet...Highly recomend the unit...the owner and management were great to deal with..Place has lots of Aloha!!! Owner response:We have purchased an additional foam mattress that can be placed on top of the sofa bed mattress making the sofa bed much more comfortable to sleep on. It is stored in the walk in closet.

We could have not stayed in a better place. It was magical the whole time we were there. The vibe of this condo and where it is in Kihei, was just what we were looking for....quiet; no noise, friendly people all around.I highly reccomend this place. Now that I am writing this...mmmm, maybe I should be giving it a bad rap because I want to go back there real soon, and don't want it to be rented when I want to be there!!! 5 stars+++ Jeff + Karen Hornbeck Auburn, Wa.

The condo is very nice and nicely decorated. The lanai is nice. I love the shower tree in front of the lanai. It is very relaxing and soothing. The pool is wonderful. It was nice to have the BBQ. It's was great to have everything close to us. Beaches, shopping etc. The only thing I would change is the mattress on the hide a bed. I would recommend it very highly. I enjoyed my stay in your condo in May it is quiet and off the steet away from all the busy road noise. It is deocrated in a nice tropical style and the vaulted ceilings make it feel more open. The pool was great and very close and the little park just across the road by the whale conservation center was perfect for my young son as the seawall blocks all the wave action kids and the water is very shallow. Thank you for such a nice relaxing place to stay. Tammy

I enjoyed staying at this condo in late October 2006 it was very quiet and restfull. The swimming pool is great,lots of chairs and lounges,sun and shade. The beech is aross the street and a small quiet part is down 1/2 block,there is grass, sand sun and shade at the park. The condo is very clean and nicely decorated,it has a wonderful lanai. The condo is close to shopping and wonderful restaurants. I had a great time, and would always try to get the same unit. Mary
