Location: Ocean View, Ka'u District, Big Island, Hawaii, USA (Hawaiian Ocean View Estates)
Accommodations: Nice Tri-level House on 1acre, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Welcome to our Hawaiian retreat! Our home is located in the scenic Ka’u district, near the southern tip of the Big Island at a comfortable elevation with mild temperatures. If you are looking for a serene environment to get away from the bustle of civilization, you have found the right place! Our home is a large tri-level which was lovingly remodeled in 2007.
There are two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the first floor; on the mid-floor you enter through a large, fully-screened Lanai with a slate tile floor, through the two sets of French Doors is a bright and airy living room, dining area and kitchen. On the top floor you can enjoy complete privacy in the Master Suite, separate from the rest of the house, boasting screened French doors leading to a covered lanai with ocean view. On the other side of the bedroom is your own full bathroom and walk-in closet. All bedrooms, the living room, and kitchen have ceiling fans.
From our location you can easily explore either side of the island, along with many local sites and activities.
Our island home is situated on an acre of natural landscape, with Ohia Trees, red hibiscus, pineapples, papaya and plumerias. Vaulted ceilings and a cool ocean breeze welcome you as you enter the French doors off the lanai. Feel like you are in a tree house as you relax in the living room or view the sunset over the ocean on the front screened lanai.
Have your coffee or tea out on the upstairs lanai as you listen to the birds sing, waking up to each beautiful island morning. Shower in rain water from our 10,000 gallon water tank. Out back there is a nice sunny area to relax with table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ.
There are markets, gas stations, two restaurants, a laundromat and a video store within one mile.

Amy, We had a lovely time staying at your TreeHouse in Ocean View. The location was great for us and the activities we planned. Your house is lovingly maintained and a super layout for families or a romantic getaway. We enjoyed just hangin' on the front porch (lanai)and feeling the lovely breezes. Guidebooks, snorkel gear, maps, comfortable beds, great showers, well equipped kitchen, what else could you want? Next time we will book a longer stay. Mahalo Russ and Karin

We had a GREAT time and truly enjoyed your place. Your place was the best deal of the 4 we stayed at, in our opinion. We really enjoyed the upstairs bedroom and the obvious renovation with nice fixtures (Delta, I believe??). That was a 'bonus'. Our boys liked their own rooms, although it was our 11-year old's turn to 'choose' his bedroom first and of course he took the one farthest from the back door leaving the other room to our 10 year old. Well, he was scared to be that far away from the rest of us alone, so he slept in the living room on the futon just fine and enjoyed it. It was easy to cook and that big table was nice. Nice soft water - it took me a while to figure out that you didn't need a softener! Ants and bugs weren't really a problem, but we kept the doors shut. We ate dinner out on your lanai one night and played scrabble another, and the bugs didn't bother us. Having the hose there handy to rinse snorkel gear was nice. That was a perk that we wouldn't get in a hotel. Your french doors and tiled lanai was all very nice. We enjoyed watching the stars from that lookout over the bed upstairs. That was neat. We had a great time and just were too busy with getting to our next place to write in your book. After your place, we were at Volcano Village for 2 nights in a home, and then 7 nights in Honoka'a. Our boys liked your place best. The place we stayed at in Kona was nice as well, but much more expensive (about $160 a night for about the same space). We didn't want to pay that much and only did because we didn't want to drive around at all hours of the morning trying to find our place. We found all places, including yours, on the website that you use. All in all, your place is very nice, private, accomodating, and a bargain. I hope you have success in renting it out. Who knows, we may be back some day! :) Thank you again! Wayne Homestead, FL
