Our stay at your property was a wonderful time to enjoy the peace and quiet. Although the park was closed, we enjoyed looking at it from across the river. Would recommend this property to other friends and family. The chalet was very clean and very well kept. Thank you for sharing with us.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! It truly "wowed" us and we loved it. The cabin was clean, spacious and comfortable. In fact, it was better in real life than in the pictures. Within 30 minutes of our arrival, all three of my teenage boys independently hugged me and told me thanks for finding such a neat place for our vacation. We spent a lot of time on the back porch looking at the river or else playing at the river. My young daughter spent hours skipping rocks on the river. My husband, who is an early riser, woke each morning to watch the sunrise on the river. He is a go, go, go person in regular life and he loved the peace and tranquility found at the cabin. We stayed here 4 days while we did activities more on the West side of Glacier (including a whitewater rafting trip). Next we stayed at 3 different places within Glacier National Park in the Many Glacier and South East side. They were ok because it was nice to not have to travel so far to be in those areas. However, staying here was clearly the highlight of our time. Our kids loved it and we did too! Three of us have trouble walking (I’m on crutches) so the cabin was much better than a lodge or hotel. We also spent more time bonding as a family at the cabin than in the lodges where you’re stuffed into separate rooms or surrounded by a lot of other tourists. We loved how secluded this place was. We loved being together there in a more home-like setting (that wasn’t home). At the end of a day of playing, it was so great to come back to the cabin and spend the evenings together in such a peaceful place. It was also fun to see deer, not at the cabin, but several times on the road near the cabin. This was our last vacation before we sent our oldest child off to college. We have many happy memories at the cabin and will cherish them greatly! One final thing – One morning as we left for a day in Glacier, we realized we locked the cabin with the keys inside. I was embarrassed to call Steve, the owner, but he was so kind and gracious and by the time we returned at the end of the day, the cabin was open again for us. We really appreciated him and his kindness towards us. Thanks so much for providing such a perfect place!

Owner response: Thanks you for the review! We really enjoy hearing from families that enjoy the cabin and Glacier as much as our family does. It warms our hearts to hear when the cabin creates a special time and place for others as it has for us

What a great stay. Fantastic chalet and fantastic view - just as described. The owner is a great person and answered all questions. We enjoyed kayaking and time in Glacier NP while in the area. I wish we had more time to enjoy fishing from the property - next time for sure. It really is just as close to the water as the pictures show. This was the best part of our long vacation.

Having spent two nights at the Many Glacier Hotel inside of Glacier National Park, we decided to spend the rest of our time in this vacation rental home, as we find having a full (and well-equipped) kitchen, private bedrooms, and a home in a nice, secluded area to stay in far preferable. The description of the location - with the back of the house backing right up to the fast-flowing river and a beautiful mountain view - did not even capture the beauty of the location. It was tranquil, the house was awesome and well equipped, and our family (which includes 3 teenagers) found the location and house so nice that they didn't actually want to go out to eat or hike, but rather "hang out" for an afternoon/evening. We grabbed some food and smokes materials at the grocery store, and enjoyed a really fun several hours cooking dinner and smores over the fire pit overlooking the river. The added double rainbow over the mountains followed by a beautiful pink sunset made our last night in the area outstanding. And for those interested in heading in to the park from the house, it is so close and easy to get to that we were able to do an early morning hike to avalanche lake before heading to the airport on our last day. We would highly recommend!

My family and I just returned from a wonderful vacation at this property from 17-24 August 2012. We were amazed at how beautiful the setting was on the North Fork of the Flathead River! Every morning and evening we were treated to glorious sunrises and sunsets, and the quietude was exquisite! You will never see as many stars in the night sky as you can from the Glacier Chalet! The listing photos do not do this property justice; the Glacier Chalet is even nicer in person. We found a back way into West Glacier via Blankenship Road which let us get there in about 20 minutes. We would definitely recommend going into Glacier National Park for hikes and the Red Bus tours. We took the "Crown of the Continent" Red Bus tour which covers both West Glacier and East Glacier. We also floated down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River one morning using a raft rental from the Montana Raft Company. We can't wait to return in 2013 or beyond! Thank you Steve and your family for being willing to share this incredible vacation home!

Steve the owner was easy to work with. The home is clean and functional with plenty of space to lounge and dine. We especially enjoyed the deck overlooking the river. It was also very nice that the kids could watch a Disney movie (they have quite a selection!) in the evening in the separate, comfy, loft living room upstairs while we enjoyed the living room downstairs! Thanks to Steve and his family for sharing this lovely spot.

This log cabin home was exactly what we were looking for. It helped so much in the planning of our trip that this house is exactly as it is described. The home itself is beautiful, very well constructed, clean and nicely furnished. It's location on the river is perfect for those who want to have a place to just be and to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings and abundant wildlife (we saw a moose our first day). It is also perfectly located as the town of Columbia Falls is just a quick and easy 15 min drive as is the west entrance to GNP. The owner is very nice, easy to deal with and very responsive. We had a plumbing problem on our first day caused by a bar of soap and the owner took care of it immediately. Our visit to this area came at the end of our trip and everyone in our party agreed it was far and away the best part of our visit and the house was what made it so. We all want to come back soon if only just sit on the deck of the Glacier Chalet.

Beautiful, well mainted home with everything you could possible need. River just steps away from the back porch. West Glacier gate just 15 minutes away, 20-25 minutes to Whitefish. Easy access, yet very secluded and quiet. Steve was great, answered all of our questions. Everything was as described or better. We'll definitely be back!
