Sunset Haven is on the main channel of the lake with deep water and a great view of the lake. Located just nine houses from Sunrise Cove, our other home. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded, great for walking and bicycling with very little traffic. (Just watch out for the deer!) This is a safe area, the kind of place where you keep the keys and fishing tackle in the boat all the time.
We have a large, well-lit dock with mooring whips for two boats and a ladder for swimming. Water depth at the dock is between six and ten feet, depending on lake level and fishing at the dock is great. We have a private boat ramp available within walking distance that can accomodate any size boat regardless of the lake level. We also have plenty of room to park your cars and boat trailers.
This brick home has a lovely screened front porch that offers an awesome view of Lake Murray as you enjoy wicker furnishings including a dining table, rockers and swing. The yard is very level, which makes it a great place for the kids to play, without worrying that their toys will roll out into the water. In the rear of the home there is a gas grill and picnic table for those wishing to dine outdoors. This house is especially suited for those of us that have bad knees as the house is at ground level and there is a walk in shower in the master bathroom. The attached double carport is a great place to park your car or boat . It also makes the perfect place to grill and picnic under a roof.
Inside, the great room has a panoramic view of the lake. There is a fireplace with gas logs, satellite TV, VCR and DVD. This area has comfortable seating as well as a queen sleeper sofa.
The master bedroom has a great lakefront view. It is furnished with a queen bed, wicker furniture and satellite TV, VCR and DVD. The attached master bathroom is also accessible through the hallway from the kitchen. The second large bedroom has two queen beds. There is a full bathroom adjacent to this bedroom.
The fully equipped kitchen has new appliances for cooking during your stay. The dining area offers a beautiful view of the lake.
All you need to bring for a great vacation is yourself!

Both of our homes are on Newberry Shores Drive, a quiet 1.2 mile loop great for jogging, bicycling and walking. The wildlife in the area is great; it’s not uncommon to see ducks, geese, purple martins, blue heron, osprey and as many as two dozen deer in one evening.
The fishing at Lake Murray is great. Several guides are available for bass, striper, crappie and perch fishing. They can pick you up at the dock if you like. Some will even clean your catch. We can also arrange for an old fashioned fish fry with all the trimmings.
Lake Murray is calmer than other lakes in the area, great for water sports. Wakeboarding is becoming a popular pastime in the area. Our son is an avid wakeboarder and water skier. He can arrange to give you lessons behind his 24 foot Supra wakeboard boat He can meet you at the dock and provide a great day on the water, even if you’ve never been behind a boat before. If you are interested in finding out more about wakeboarding on Lake Murray, please go to our website.
