Thank you for a lovely week

Guest: Spencer (USA)
Date of Stay: 02/13/12 Review Submitted: 04/02/12

We just wanted to thank you for an absolutely amazing stay we've had. The weather wasn't up the best but the apartment made us not want to leave that much anyway? It is all so well equipped and the lighting always creates the perfect atmosphere. I looked forward to sleeping in the comfiest bed and cooking each day. It felt that I actually lived here. For two students such as ourselves, it was like a glimpse into the future with the advantage of the amazing views that show off this gorgeous city that is Paris. If anyone gets the chance - just go for a lovely walk anywhere around. Thank you again! PS: like other people have already said : the boulangerie downstairs is brill!

Vacationing in Paris during the winter of 2012 and leaving the hotel behind...

Date of Stay: 01/14/12 Review Submitted: 01/29/12

My wife and I along with our two tall kids ages 12 and 14 visited Paris in January, 2012. We tend to be Hyatt/Ritz Carlton types of travelers but decided to try our first VRBO for this visit so we could connect ourselves and the kids better with Paris. This apartment delivered everything we had hoped it would. What we may have thought would be a trade off for that upscale hotel luxury and concierge service, with this apartment you get back tenfold returns in clean, efficient European comfort combined with absolutely prime location. The place had plenty of room for us, beds and bath were terrific, sunrises and window views to the rooftops of Paris were unforgettable. The coordination on arrival was smooth and friendly, with plenty of orientation to the neighborhood provided to get us moving. Adding to the tapestry of traveler reviews, I also confirm that the previous comments are true. Read them all, then go ahead and book this place with confidence based on those reviews. And to all you previous guests: thank you for the extensive travel library and suggestions you’ve left behind. For us tourists, how great to find your comments along with the latest Frommer’s Paris in the library in paper form, as our e-Nook versions weren’t cutting it. Echoing some comments: you can’t go wrong by visiting any of the cafes/restaurants within steps out the front door, we especially enjoyed Bar a Manage (BAM) steps out the front door to the right for late night wine and dessert, and we enjoyed the draft beer place out on the Rue Rivoli for plenty of great Trappist Monk drafts and friendly service. La Poule a Pot was indeed a terrific recommendation for dinner. So glad someone recommended that app for your Iphone “ZUTI Paris” for truly effortless Metro/RER guidance -- seems like every train in the city hits the Metro Chatelet stop which is just a half block from the front door. After a few days in this place, you’ll feel like a local. What a great trip, and a great place. Thanks again Clare!

Owner response:What a thoughtful appreciative review. Thank you for taking the time to write We liked your choice of drinking and dining places, On our next visit to La Poule a Pot will think of you and raise a glass. Expect Allison and Brendan enjoyed being locals and fetching the bread each morning from the bakery with such wonderful smells. Just reading your account makes us want to book Eurostar again. Best wishes, C

The Excellent Ratings are True

Guest: Jim (St. Paul, Minnesota, USA)
Date of Stay: 11/21/11 Review Submitted: 11/27/11

My wife, nephew and I spent Thanksgiving week in Paris. The apartment and location were excellent. Clean, well stocked, outstanding views from windows. Here are some practical details: Having stayed in VRBO properties before what distinguished this property was that the quality of things in apartment were excellent - knives were sharp. Dishes were tasteful - silverware was sturdy - internet worked as did the phone and television. Shower was hot and good water pressure. The place feels like a home not a place for renters. Good books on the bookshelf. What as wrong??-- cannot find a thing to say. One must understand that compared to US space -- the apartment is compact. There is not wasted space. But even with my nephew there -- we had privacy. All and all a first rate experience from the moment we arrived until departure.

Paris honeymoon

Guest: Demetrius (Florida)
Date of Stay: 09/23/11 Review Submitted: 10/06/11

We had the most wonderful experience at your apartment.....Compared to hotel rates, it was very reasonable, especially since we like to do our own cooking and shopping. The location is just amazing. We walked or took the subway (2 within a block of the apartment) to every sight, museum, garden, or district we wanted to see. Because we were so centrally located, we spent all our time enjoying Paris rather than traveling, very nice. The apartment is well equipped, with a telephone you can call home with, WiFi, music, espresso machine, all the cooking utensils one needs to get by. There are markets and bakeries nearby, the one downstairs is excellent and the staff is particularly friendly, something that is hard to come by in Paris. Climb the Bell Towers of Notre Dame, go to the top of the Arch de Triumph for sunset, take an evening cruise down the Seine (let a full boat go and be in line first for the next one), look for Les Freres Zitoun, a piano and stand up bass playing duet on the walking bridge from Notre Dame. Spend a day in Montemarte, visit all the little museums in Paris, we had a better experience there than the Louvre, although that was worthwhile as always. So, thank you again, we will definitely recommend your property to anyone who wants a unique and personal experience in Paris.....and we shall return, as well. Aloha, Kristi and Jack

Paris Adventure from a Great Home Base

Guest: Bike Boyz (Dillon Beach, California, U.S.A.)
Date of Stay: 08/16/11 Review Submitted: 09/08/11

My wife, her best friend, and I spent 2 weeks in Paris at this apartment in August. The apartment was wonderfully located one block from the Seine, 10 minutes from the Louvre, Ste. Chappelle, and Notre Dame and around the corner from a great boulangerie and three great restaurants. There are nearby metro and RER stops to take you to Versailles, D'Orsay, and other sites. So the location is great!! The apartment itself was really fine. Balconies overlook the street and there is a view of the Seine (albiet limited). The two bedrooms are reasonably sized and the beds large enough for two adults. The bathroom has a very good shower and a washing machine. The living room is large and has a sofa bed that a friend of mine used for three nights, so in theory the apartment could accommodate 5 people though it would be a bit crowded given one bathroom. The kitchen was fine with a fridge, microwave/convection oven, and all you need to cook meals though we usually went out for dinner and tended to relax with afternoon wine/cheese at home. The free wireless was a nice bonus as was the ability to call home to the states for free. The CD player worked fine. The tv didn't work but we didn't bother calling about it since it didn't really matter to us. The apartment is on the sixth floor so the walk up each day is a good work-out but there is a TINY elevator if you have bags, groceries, etc. We carried our bicycles up the 6 flites since they couldn't fit in the elevator. We had friends over for dinner one nite who were renting another apartment in Paris and they just loved our place!! We would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a clean, well located, and comfortable apartment for a Paris visit and would certainly stay here again when we return.

A charming Parisian base

Guest: Bighorndon (Chicago, Il, USA)
Date of Stay: 07/05/11 Review Submitted: 07/10/11

First of all, if you are an American, leave your bias and perceptions at home! "Dorothy, you are not in Kansas anymore!" could not be more true. Everything that the owner says about the property is true but if you are expecting American scale and size you may be disappointed. We are completing our stay and it has been great once we adjusted to the quirks of European living. The benefits of this location are impossible to ignore. From the surrounding neighborhood restaurants and boulangerie (bakery to you, tourist!) to the convenience of the daunting Paris Metro it is hard to beat. HOWEVER it also is not for the faint of heart either. Six floors means six floors with the world's smallest elevator as your best friend and worst nightmare if you are claustrophobic. I also would suggest this would not be the best place to be if you are infirm or seriously physically impaired since you still have a winding flight of stairs to navigate once you exit the ascenseur (elevator). However, if you are young at heart, open minded, and reasonably physically able I think you will love it as we have and we are two mid-septuagenarians traveling with our teenage granddaughter.

Owner response:Thank you for taking the time to write. We agree that the ascenseur does give a new meaning to "togetherness" but we adapted fairly quickly. I think there are 8 stirs that curve to the right when you come out of the ascenseur--There is a hand rail so it is not a long challenge. So glad you enjoyed the neighbourhood. Strangely it is quite residential although very close to place everyone wants to visit. We quite like the fact that so many young people live in this area nd we can meet them at the 3 restaurants around the corner. Paris is fun--for all the young in heart so we are delighted to hear you have joined the clan! Best wishes, and come again.

Fantastic apartment for our family of four! First trip to Paris for our two boys, ages 14 and 11!

Guest: allison (los angeles, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/17/11 Review Submitted: 07/16/11

We had a lovely visit in this apartment. The listing and photos which describe the apartment are accurate. The apt is spacious and airy, the mirrors along the walls and high ceilings and skylights help to make it seem bigger. Look at the sq footage as I find in general in Europe, the rooms are smaller than in the US. This is the first time we've used VRBO & my husband, more than once, said, "Are you sure we will have a place to stay when we land? We did wire thousands of dollars to an unknown account!" Not to worry! Clare's friends were staying there the day we arrived and they greeted us with open arms even though we arrived too early and we just wanted to drop off our luggage. Having two boys, 14 and 11, it was the perfect place for them to relax after a long day of museum touring rather than in a small hotel room! We did not use any of the appliances (washer, drying rack, tv...couldn't find English channels, printer, microwave/oven..didn't cook). There was not an electric coffee pot (only a French/Italian Press). It was a bear to clean so I just bought coffee in the cafes. The bathroom was clean and sufficent. Lighting was really good. The beds were extremely comfortable. The apartment's location was such a wonderful plus. Chatelet metro was right there, the Seine was across the street, Notre Dame just a few blocks away. I read the other reviews and I only can say the 8 steps up to the apartment after the elevator was easily manueverable for a young family. I don't think my kids ever used the elevator...even at 11pm at night, they would race up the stairwell. The only negatives about the apartment is that outside of the landing of the elevator on the 6th floor, there was some water damage to the building and the floor was covered in construction type paper to walk on. When I first saw that, I thought, "Uh-oh, what are we getting into?" But it was outside of the apartment. The only other negative is that there is a throw rug in the main living area which is a leather shag? I think it needs cleaning as it doesn't look like it can be vacuumed or has been cleaned in a while. Probably a shorter pile carpet would be better for cleanliness/allergy sake. All the reviewers loved the Boulangerie at the bottom of the apt but I was so disappointed! The baguettes were just so-so & on our 3rd visit she forgot to put in my chocolate croissant! Definitely will recommend this apartment to friends and family as I have already done so! Thanks, Clare!

Ideally located apartment

Date of Stay: 05/23/11 Review Submitted: 06/20/11

This 2 bedroom apartment on Victoria Ave is charming and centrally located. Right off the Siene river, one block from the train, a taxi stand at the end of the block and within walking distance of so many of Paris beautiful attractions and landmarks. The apartment is filled with everything you would find in your own home. I used the washing machine, the printer and wifi for my lab top, stereo and T.V. and the electric drying rack. The washer was small, but worked well, The electric drying rack took a long time to dry my clothes, I would of preferred a conventional dryer, but there's limited space. I was unable to find the english television channels and I was returning to the apartment too late in the evenings and out early in the mornings to have Myriam come over to show me again. The apartment looked as advertised on the internet. I believe it is due for a paint job and and needs a good cleaning. I would of rated the apartment higher with an excellent rating if it had a fresh coat of paint and a thorough cleaning. I would rent this apartment again, as well as, recommend to friends and family. I cannot say enough in regards to the location of this apartment. It just worked out amazingly for us. We basically toured Paris on foot and felt very safe on all our journeys throughout the different neighborhoods. The mattresses are very comfortable. The shower and hot water works well. The kitchen has all the necessities. The balconies and sky lights give great light and views throughout the apartment. My May 2011 visit to Paris was enhanced by this comfortable/charming apartment.

We had a wonderful stay, the photos on the web site were accurate and we found the apartment to be a complete delight. The location is outstanding with wonderful local restaurants to try and an amazing bakery just around the corner. Easy walking distance to many major tourist sights or a metro within minutes. Clare and Kaye could not have been more helpful. Would love to stay again if we return to Paris and would not hesitate to recommend the apartment.

Fantastic week by the Seine

We have totally enjoyed our family vacation in Paris and are fortunate to stay at Chez Ash! We got to experience what it is like living in Paris and the priorities are completely different, At home, we have 6 bathrooms for 4 people. Our kitchen is huge (we cant cook very well at all). We have only a few homeless in our downtown area and none on our neighborhood. There is absolutely no soliciting in our neighborhood. As for pickpockets, we have not encountered any, except for our son Ross and he has been unsuccessful! we have attempted to speak French many times, but even though we speak the word, it gets misinterpreted (eg, 'Zinfandel" was interpreted 'Savignon'. The French people are quite thin and well dressed, and must not have hearing problems, because they speak very softly. I was quite impressed with the dogs, who were as well behaved as children and were good at following 'sans' leashes. The French are not very good at cleaning after their dogs and at home in US, the police ticket us for this. The beggars with pets definitely do better than the ones without pets. The city is breathtaking and prior descriptions in the guest book far exceeded our abilities to contribute to more information. Thank you for your hospitality! I would recommend this place to everyone! Aurevoir, Mary, Spencer, Mitchell and Ross

You know you have selected a wonderful apartment when after returning home you are homesick to be there again. We miss it already. It is full of light during the day with skylights in the bathroom and kitchen and two large windows in the kitchen and full glass doors opening onto small balconies in the main room and each of the two bedrooms. The light is captured in the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the main room and large mirrors over the fireplaces in the main room and master bedroom. The living/dining room and kitchen are one big room, but each somehow its own space without walls and as one big room make the apartment feel spacious. The view of the Sainte Chapelle spire just across the Seine is picked up in the mirror. It is lit up at night as is the Hotel de Ville from the main balcony. There are metal rooftops and that great stone architecture all around. They are not only beautiful but are great noise blockers, so the apartment is remarkably quiet. At night the apartment feels cozy. The beds are comfortable; the kitchen adaptable to cooking sole meuniere, etc. should one wish; the shower is good; and the collection of books and a few well-chosen CD's were much appreciated. The location brings many of the main attractions within walking distance and the entrance to the central subway hub is one long Parisian block away. We hope to make it our home away from home once again in the not-too-distant future.

Fantastic apartment with great views, right in the centre of town

Guest: Jenny C (London)
Date of Stay: 10/29/10 Review Submitted: 11/03/10

I would 100% recommend this apartment as the perfect base for a Paris visit. It's right by the river, with balconies in each room to sit out and take in the views of Notre Dame, the Seine, the glorious Paris rooftops and the beautiful theater opposite. It's very centrally located - the subway/mainline station on the doorstep is one of the major hubs, with about a dozen lines passing through. And with the Louvre, Pompidou Centre and trendy Marais district a ten minute walk away from the front door, there's so much to do on foot too. I travelled here whilst quite heavily pregnant, but there's a lift so no access problems - and great top floor views. I was with two girlfriends and there was plenty of room for all of us in the apartment. We found the apartment really clean and comfortable, not to mention stylish - love the mirrors, Picasso prints and great library of guidebooks and novels to peruse! The space is really well organised, perfect for relaxing after a day's sightseeing, cooking up a storm in the well-supplied kitchen or maybe putting together a kir to sip on the terrace. Extras like the coffee machine, beautiful chinaware and herbs/spices for cooking all really added to the wow factor. Before we travelled, the owner was very helpful with directions to get there and local recommendations. We also found the 'guest book' a great inspiration for places to eat and particular suggestions for museums and shopping. We didn't want to leave and will be back!

The location of the apartment could not have been better! Within walking distance of Notre Dame, Ste.Chapelle, the Louvre, and the Pompidou Center, it was the perfect location to see the heart of the city. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, light and open. A view of the Seine greeted us each day from our balconies, and the boats that passed by. There are a multitude of cafe's, boulangeries, and patisseries all around. A central metro hub was less than a block away(Chatelet). The apartment contributed to a truly memorable stay in Paris! "architect's eyrie" -- two terrific weeks

Guest: Stephen & Andrew (New York City & Rural Connecticut, USA)
Date of Stay: 05/29/10 Review Submitted: 06/18/10

We just returned from 2 terrific weeks in Paris in this property, an apartment which, only after a few hours, rapidly felt "like home" for us. The property more than lived up to its on-line description and photos in terms of location, amenities in the apartment and space and light (in particular light -- two exposures, large windows throughout, above the roof-tops on all sides.) The "welcome orientation" was excellent, especially in terms of the in-house appliances and technology and the supplemental "house book" provided all the needed back up for the facilities. The owner -- residing in another country -- was extremely helpful in answering questions that we had in advance and while on site and even called one afternoon mid-stay to make sure we were doing well and content. While this was primarily a pleasure trip, we both had to keep up with work at home and found the free wifi access throughout the apartment, the access to a printer and the free international phone calls to be an outstanding additional benefit in the apartment. This alone saved surely several hundred dollars over a typical two-week stay in a hotel. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who needs a HIGHLY convenient two-bedroom apartment in Paris for any length of stay. We hope to come back and recommend this without reservation.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was better than we were expecting - bigger than I imagined, more light and in such a lovely area. We enjoyed the fabulous Boulangerie at the bottom of the apartment block, good shopping, lots of restaurants and it is practically on top of Chatalet train station - very convenient. Everything was clean, all kitchen utensils provided and plenty of linen. The washer and dryer were small and slow, but we may feel that way because we're used to our Aussie machines. I would recommend this apartment to anyone.

Paris at our fingertips, at a place that felt like home.

Guest: Mark (Bemidji, MN/USA)
Date of Stay: 04/01/10 Review Submitted: 06/23/10

This apartment was perfect for our two week stay in Paris. Everything about the apartment was relaxed and comfortable with stunning views offering a place to relax after busy sightseeing/long lunch days. Many evenings were spent indoors as I don't think the sunsets from inside can be beat, not to mention the wines, cheese, bread & produce purchased throughout our stay! The location is truly ideal in that you have access to everything you would want to do on foot and by metro, but you can come home to a quiet place and still know you are in Paris. I would recommend for those who want a calm place to stay with all of the comforts of home, but still want to rediscover Paris in a whole new way. Both of us have been to Paris in the past at various times in our lives, but this was a truly enjoyable, different adventure that exceeded our expectations. The owner answered all of our questions graciously up until our stay, and the host in the city was wonderful. She welcomed us and made us feel at home, and answered any questions we had during our stay. We will definitely be back as this apartment and neighborhood have so much to offer any visitor to Paris who wants to feel less like a tourist at the end of the day, but still wake up to the best boulangerie downstairs everyday to go with homemade coffee upstairs. (I may miss those mornings the most as breakfast at home is always missing something now.) Go and enjoy for as long as you can. We traveled with just a carry on and it was perfect. Laundry and dryer in the apartment made it easy to travel light. Internet access was simple and allowed us to keep all of our plans, emails, and photos up to date at home when we wanted to keep in touch or make reservations during our stay. Only issue we had was we didn't want to leave, but our week in Provence after forced us to go.

We had the most perfect stay at this apartment in March (thanks so much Clare!). The apartment lacked nothing and was appointed in a most stylish and practical way throughout. With the wonderful location, we walked pretty much everywhere and dropped back in to refresh ourselves before plunging back into the beautiful city again. Situated in a relatively quiet position, I would recommend the apartment for anyone who wants to feel a part of the centre of Paris without too much noise - the perfect combination in our case. Top notch.

We just finished our vacation in Paris and this apartment was great! We actually felt we were living in Paris and this was our place. The skylights in the bathroom and hall flooded the unit with natural light and the top floor location provided us with exceptional views. The location was the very best thing, however, with the Metro close and we rode it everywhere using an Iphone App called Zuti Paris. We were met at the apartment as promised and the representative was still smiling and helpful even though we got lost and were very late. The furnishings were simple, functional and comfortable and we slept well on the bed. Thanks so much!

We stayed in October 2009. What we loved about this apartment was the location. It was so central we could walk to many sights and we were so close to the Metro (Chatelet - major station) it was just fantastic. We liked the vibe of rue de Rivoli just around the corner and pastry shop near us.....yum!! The living area was very comfortable and suited us perfectly.

We found the location of the apartment convenient to many things. We like to take walks and so strolled nightly to see the sights after dark--and felt very safe doing so. The walk to the food market was quite fun: we arrived at our home away from home with bags of vegetables, cheeses, breads and flowers. We ate dinners on the small balcony instead of the table! We did meet some of the other residents and found them to be very helpful and welcoming. The apartment did get warm during the day, but the fans and open windows did cool the residence off so that we were able to sleep well during the night. Thanks for a nice place to call home during our travels.

"Amazingly well-equipped! Never seen anything like it! Felt like coming home - everything you need is right here. Absolutely loved the apartment . . . even for 4 big North American adults it was plenty of room! Loved being on the top floor and seeing over the roof tops of the 1st Arrondissement (expected the chimney sweeps of 'Mary Poppins' to jump up at any moment). My husband and I have been to Paris 6 times before - this is the first time renting an apartment - what a pleasure! So much nicer than any hotel."

"This was a great place to stay. It was central to everything we wanted to see while in Paris, Notre Dame, St. Capella, The Louvre, etc. There was a metro stop a block away where we took the train from the airport. We really enjoyed the fact that everything thing was within walking distance. The apartment was a very good size and having two rooms worked very well. We didn't have to worry about noise at all since the neighborhood was quiet and the windows on the apartment were very thick. The internet, phone and all other equipment worked great. The beds were comfortable, clean and rooms a good size. It is a top floor apartment but it had a elevator that made getting there a snap. Someone met us to show us the apartment and the owner stayed in contact the whole time. There is a grocery store right around the corner and a great bakery below the apartment on the same block. There were no surprises on what to expect and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a very nice stay in Paris! Everything worked fine, Mme W. welcomed us at the apartment and explained everything to us, and we were really enchanted by the nice views to Théâtre du Châtelet and the Seine. But in particular my parents and I liked very much the decoration of the apartment that is quite functional and very cosy at the same moment – a combination you can't find very often. (My mother was absolutely enthused about the well-organised kitchen cupboards, including the little tags indicating which item had to be where!) Thanks to the very central situation of the apartment we could discover quite a lot of Paris, and even with my old father who is not very quick on his feet anymore we could do some walks to Notre Dame, to the Quartier Latin or to Marais, and for the longer distances we could easily take a cab. So our stay in Paris really was a raving success

"We enjoyed our stay very much. It was very helpful that the apartment is so well appointed. The location can't be beat. The nearby Metro lets you get anywhere, and get there fast. Many of the things we wanted to see were within walking distance. We never took a cab in two weeks. We ate most meals out in the Latin Quarter - there is a wide choice of reasonable places. Most of all, staying here is truly like living in Paris - just the experience we were looking for"

"We had a very nice stay in Paris! (My mother was absolutely enthused about the well organised kitchen cupboards, including the little tags indicating which item had to be where!) Thanks to the very central situation of the apartment we could discover quite a lot of Paris, and even with my old father who is not very quick on his feet anymore we could do some walks to Notre Dame, to the Quartier Latin or to Marais, and for the longer distances we could easily take a cab. So our stay in Paris really was a raving success!"

"Superb location - you can get almost anywhere on foot. Walked back from Montmartre without noticing any distance at all. Try one of the Paris walks - especially if you have a family and need to entertain all ages. Very entertaining! Have a sunset drink up in the bar on the 56th floor of Montparnasse tower - stunning views of the Eiffel tower lit up. Lovely apartment - hope to stay again."

The apartment is in the best location in Paris. Metro, bakeries, supermarket, all types of restaurants, a concert hall, the Siene, Rue de Rivoli are all within 3 minutes walk. The apartment itself is beautifully presented and maintained and exellent assistance was provided on arrival. All the information provided in advance was correct and I would thoroughly recommend the Architect's Eyrie Overlooking the Seine.

"The last night of any vacation is incredibly sad, but none more so than this! The apartment is a perfect place in a perfect location. From the balcony we could see the twinkling Christmas lights at Hotel de Ville, the lights and decorations in all the shop windows, and the beautiful view of the Seine. The apartment is located so close to the Louvre, the Tuileries, L'Orangerie and have had so many walks and used the Metro. Thank you for letting us call this lovely place home for the past two weeks. We will cherish these memories and hope to return.

We stayed in this lovely apartment early November 2008. This was a great apartment! I would definitely stay here again. The beds were comfortable and the apartment itself was clean. The location was very convenient since it was close to the metro, grocery store, Notre Dame, Seine, Louvre and post office. It was nice to wake up when we wanted to in the morning and have breakfast in the apartment then be on our way. It was also great that there were many helpful books to research places we wanted to see and to read recommendations from others who stayed there. Would definitely recommend others to stay here!

Brilliant location and lovely apartment! I can highly recommend staying at the Architect's Eyrie. The location is fantastic and so much of the city can be explored on foot. The area has lots of good restaurants and cafes and we were spoiled for choice. The apartment has everything you could possibly need for a stay. The instructions provided by the owner prior to our arrival were very comprehensive and reassuring - I had every confidence that we would be met on arrival and that our stay would be stress-free, which it was.

The location was perfect and the views spectacular! We loved the close proximity to the Seine, restaurants, supermarket, garden stores and pet stores! We enjoyed how quiet it was at night . . . [the caretaker] was very welcoming and informative. We would definitely stay in your apartment on our next visit to Paris and will recommend it to our friends.

Thank you for allowing us the chance [to stay] in the beautiful apartment you call your home in Paris. We have had simply a wonderful time – every second of it savoured – from my morning run along the Seine, to visits to museums, to becoming friendly with the local proprietors . . . and just the superb ‘hanging out’ at home . . . just superb. Thank you for the many guide books, the quality of the utensils and equipment and the obvious great energy you have put into the place

We were just thrilled with the apartment. It’s clear you’ve thought through everything: the kitchen is well-equipped and the beds are absolutely the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The location is truly ideal for transportation, sight-seeing, eating, shopping, everything.

Our family of four LOVED this apartment! It is bright and airy, had just enough space for us all to relax, and is in the perfect location. We ate breakfast in the apartment each day (including fresh baguettes from the bakery around the corner), and even cooked a dinner there. It is convenient to a grocery, metro station, post office, the Louvre, Notre Dame, and the Seine. We loved the small balconies and living room windows. Would definitely stay here if ever in Paris again and would recommend to friends.

This was my second stay, and everything was wonderful again. I have stayed at four other great locations in central Paris, and I like this one the best. Everything is so close and the apartment is very comfortable and convenient. Thanks again for a pleasant experience.

We stayed here at the end of April 2008 and had a wonderful time. The location is ideal, with several good restaurants and a great bakery nearby (good for both breakfast-coffee and pastries- and lunch-sandwiches and quiche). It is also *very* convenient to the Metro. and close to the river and the Louvre. The owner was quite thoughtful, even stocking the pantry with basics to ensure we at least had something for breakfast our first morning. With two supermarkets nearby, buying our own groceries the next day was easy (and fun). Payment (by bank transfer) was acknowledged promptly, and any delay in e-mail correspondence was usually a result of the messages being lost in cyberspace, not neglect by the owner. We were met, as arranged, by an English-speaking representative of the owner who explained everything about the apartment, down to the last appliance. It was overall a great experience!

Our only regret about our stay in Paris is that it wasn’t longer. We enjoyed 10 wonderful days exploring the city. The apartment is ideally located for visitors to Paris. We were within walking distance to the Louvre and a range of other attractions

I feel so lucky that we found such a perfect place to stay. The location was perfect . . . we loved working everywhere. The bakery around the corner made us realize we would never look at a croissant in the USA quite the same way. It was nice to have the market so close. We could start our day with a coffee and a croissant (warm out of the oven) and plan our adventure for the day. We toured all the major museums. . . We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back soon.
