Great two weeks! Cute and Chic was just as described - clean, well decorated, comfortable with everything we needed to enjoy our visit. The owner went out of her way to see that we had internet connection when a slight problem occured. Wonderful dining in the area, especially enjoyed The Wash House on ALT 98. Personal favorite sites were the Fairhope History Museum and the Marietta Johnson Organic School Museum. Location is wonderful. We were able to do a day trip to Biloxi to Jefferson Davis Beauvoir as well as a long afternoon at Bellengrath Gardens/Estate. Lots right in town to see and do with wonderfully friendly folks, beautiful scenery - the flower beds all over town were real spirit lifters for those of us from colder climates. I will return, perhaps many times.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The cottage is lovely, quiet and charming and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing stay; it's a 15 minute walk to town for coffee, shopping at the gorgeous little shops, or a nice dinner. Also, a 15 minute walk to the Bay. I would stay here again, in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Kudos to the owner for providing such a sweet and charming home away from home for visitors like our family! With our child enrolling in a local university, this cottage in close-by Fairhope is a perfect 'home base' for us any time we visit Mobile. Loved the super-comfy beds, the spacious well-stocked kitchen, the quiet, tucked-away den, the crazy-convenient laundry room and the friendly neighbors! We also enjoyed strolling the length of the nearby city pier at sunset with the bold pelicans, the amazing eats at Two Sisters Bakery & Deli on Hwy 98 (just south of where Fig Ave ends on 98), and the savory coffee and hot tea at The Coffee Loft on North Section Street. We will absolutely be back soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for such a gracious review!! You are more than welcome to return and stay at 373 Fig Avenue!!

Looked great on the virtual tour and was even better in person. Large open kitchen. Master bedroom is spacious with easy access to back deck. TV's in each bedroom, sunroom and living room allow easy viewing choices, or getting away from noise. Decor throughout home is up to date. On a quiet street that is an easy walk down to the park along the bay.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much!! Fairhope is a wonderful town!! I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay!! Please return again soon!!

The cottage, a two bedroom residence, rests under large, flowing, Live Oaks in a middle class neighborhood within a short drive of "downtown" Fairhope. The home also is located within walking distance of the Bay (.7 mile) and the city's attendant park, lengthy walk/bike path, and fishing piers. The neighbors appeared friendly and, without exception, spoke highly of the town and surrounding area. The owner provided a clean, well scrubbed, house. It included firm mattresses, plenty of linens and blankets (well used in nippy January), a laundry, and adequate kitchen utensils and dishes. She quickly responded to any inquiries and made a number of suggestions for afternoon get-togethers. The photo she provided accurately portrayed the residence. These aged baby boomers tried a number of the local (non-chain) restaurants, in the Mobile/Orange Beach environs, and discovered truly outstanding Middle-Eastern fare at the Jersualem Cafe (Airport Road, Mobile), and fresh, tasty oysters and fish at the Market by the Bay (Fairhope) and the Common Loon Cafe (Dauphin Island) - all strongly recommended by locals. Sadly, the travelers never found a good, consistent, Fairhope restaurant offering typical breakfast foods - eggs, biscuits, flapjacks - only over-priced "chic" fare - breads (cakes) and sandwiches ("finger food.") Where do the police (120 employees in the Fairhope Department) and fishermen eat? Would strongly recommend walking or biking the trails at the Gulf State Park (Orange Beach), touring Dolphin Island, and visiting the Mobile City museum if interested in the Civil War and "civil rights" history. Also, would avail oneself to the beautiful sunsets at the Fairhope Park and some of the beautiful old homes in walking distance of the rental property. And finally, would consider traveling to Fairhope during March during its Arts Festival. These travelers first encountered Fairhope last Spring and came upon the apparently "juried" festival which offered lovely paintings, fine-crafted furniture, jewelry, and pottery from artisans located throughout the country. All in all, the Boomers' recent visit, even during chilly January, proved a delightful respite from the work-a-day world. Would recommend the cottage as a reasonably priced, well-equipped, rental property.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words about my cottage!! I appreciate your recommendation!!

The cottage was adorable, quaint, sufficient room for 4, well maintained and comfortable to stay in for a few days. The kitchen & den has a light cheerful clean orderly appearance, open, user friendly and easy to find everything. It was a great home away from home. It is located in a quiet neighborhood very convenient to downtown Fairhope. We had a wonderful time. Thank you so much!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am so happy that your "girl's get out and about" was so much fun. Please be my guests again soon!!! Donna
