My daughter was married at the Baltimore Museum of Industry outdoors and overlooking the Inner Harbor. My husband and I spent a week at McHenry House instead of a hotel. It was definitely the best decision! The house was delightful, clean and roomy. I especially loved all the bathrooms! All the bridesmaids and the bride came over the day of the wedding to get hair done and get dressed. It worked out great!

Our extended family was looking for a quick getaway together and the McHenry House fit the bill perfectly! Each of the three couples had their own bath and bedroom and our 6 year old daughter had the entire lower level to herself. Our 18 month old slept in the large walk-in closet in the master bedroom in the provided pack and play. The neighborhood is wonderful and was conveniently located for a quick trip to the inner harbor and made a good base for a day trip to DC.

What a beautiful home!!! It was quiet and lots of room, exactly as described. Each room having it's own full bath was wonderful. No trying to figure out who was going to shower when, so to be out of the house in time for graduation. It is walking distance to 2 water taxi stops. Although we didn't have time to sightsee we did walk down to Fort Mc Henry just before closing and had beautiful views. It was easy access to everything, Interstate, downtown, grocery, bar, ice cream shop, park. I have only the highest praise for this home. You won't go wrong by renting this. Karen and her husband were a pleasure to work with, always responding to notes and phone calls.

Thanks to Karen and her wonderful Mc Henry House property, my family visit back to my city of birth was wonderful. My family of 4 has outlived hotel stays and we try to avoid them when we can. Mc Henry House is a wonderful property in a quiet neighborhood with all the amenities of home. Each of my daughters had their own bedroom and bathroom which they loved. There was plenty room for us to relax without tripping over each other. Wireless internet was a huge plus for my teen. We enjoyed walks to the ice cream shop and cupcake shop. I enjoyed my strolls to the Tide Point Pier where I relaxed and watched the boats come an go in and out of the harbor. Karen was very responsive to our minimal needs. And in-house laundry meant that we didn't need to bring dirty clothes home. It was a great vacation and this home was a huge part of our enjoyment. I can't wait to visit again.

Thank you Karen! The McHenry House was perfect for our stay in Baltimore last week. I have never stayed in a rental home that was so well equipped! And the beds...I usually do not sleep the first couple of nights, but you can't help but fall fast asleep on those pillow top mattresses. It is quite obvious that you set this home up as if you were going to live in it! Location was great and the directions that you provided to our conference site was so easy to follow and took us straight there. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Baltimore area. We had 7 in our party and everyone was thoroughly pleased with this home. It was so much better than spending several nights cramped up in a couple of small hotel rooms (less costly, too). We hope to have the opportunity to rent again in the future.

The McHenry house was beautiful and perfect for our "Sisters" weekend as there was plenty of space. We loved the rooftop deck and spent hours sitting at the large kitchen table talking. Karen was so helpful and easy to work with. The neighbors were helpful and there was plenty of on street parking in the block. I would highly recommend this house.

Less then 3 miles from the Inner Harbor, great park for the kids 2 blocks away and a great Pub for the adults 1 block away. Please to utilize in the future as it is a perfect get away.

Our family of five (3 kids ages 4-8) thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Baltimore. Your place was a great choice for our home base and met all out needs and then some. We took AMTRAK up to Baltimore and therefore did not have a car - but we didn't need one. We bought MTA passes and used the buses (and the light rail from Penn Station) to get around. The #1 bus came often enough on Fort Ave (a block away) and took us wherever we needed, including the grocery store right up the road. We also took advantage of the free water taxi from Tide point - it came by every 15 minutes or so. One highlight of our trip was taking the water taxi over to Fell's point and then walking to Patterson Bowling Center on Eastern Ave for duckpin bowling. The kids (and the adults) loved it. We also did the aquarium, an afternoon Orioles game, the Port Discovery kids museum, and the B&O train museum. We ate at a lot of different places - including nearby Thornton's pub. We also tried Baba's Mediterranean on Fort Ave, which had some excellent food. Another favorite was Pubdog Pizza - on Cross Street. We also loved the ice cream truck that came around most every evening (a cone of ice cream was only $1.25 - what a bargain). Our trip was a great success and your house was awesome. Sunset on the roof deck the last night was a fine ending to our vacation. When we return to Baltimore we will not hesitate to rent from you again we would highly recommend your place to anyone.

Karen and Vince - Just wanted to say thanks for allowing our group to use your house while we were in town for a Coaches Clinic. Your house is in a great location - it was very easy for us to get to both Federal Hill and Inner Harbor. Neighbors were friendly (and helpful) and we had a blast while at Thornton's Pub. If we head back to Baltimore for any reason, we will be sure to check for availability at the McHenry House first. Thanks again!

We had the pleasure of staying at the McHenry House in October 2008. We were in town for a wedding and the Browns/Redskins game. The McHenry House was beautiful, clean and very accomodating for 7 of us. The 3 bedrooms and downstairs living area with a sleeper sofa offered plenty of privacy. The 4 1/2 baths made it very convienient for all of us to get ready at the same time. The neighbors were friendly and didn't hesitate to give us advice on our trek to Landover, MD for the football game. We walked to and from the Inner Harbor and although it is a couple of miles, it was a fantastic walk along the water. We spent some time at Thortons Pub, literally a stone throw away from McHenry House. The food and service were superb. I would definitely recommed the Mc Henry House to anyone looking to visit Baltimore. Karen, the owner, was wonderful to work with and was prompt in answering any questions that I had. Our trip to Baltimore was fantastic, highlighted by our terrific accomodations. Thank you Vince and Karen.

Karen & Vince, I just wanted to say "thanks" for a great getaway weekend in Baltimore. Everything about the McHenry House, including your hospitality, made it a perfect vacation with my friends. Our annual Girl's Weekend was a complete success, thanks to the convenience of your home to everything. We went to dinner, to get drinks, to Washington DC, to the Orioles game, to the Spa and more - and nothing was more than a few minutes away! You have furnished the McHenry House with all the comforts of home - comfy beds, nice TVs, fully equipped kitchen, rooftop decks, large bedrooms/bathrooms, and more! Thanks for making everything perfect while in Baltimore! Melissa

We absolutely loved our week-long stay here. The Dunbars have thought of everything and there was absolutely nothing we needed besides our clothes and a quick trip to the grocery store for breakfast food. We loved the rooftop deck - and the intercom system which let those of us having a cocktail on the roof know that dinner was ready!! We also enjoyed the huge dining room table for our crab feasts and the big-screen t.v. for our movie nights. Thanks so much, Karen, for everything!

What a find. Truly a GEM which turned out to be our home away from home in July 2008. Our son is a rising junior and had many lacrosse events in Baltimore this summer, so we found ourselves here for the greater part of July. All the amentities of home and then some. We all had rooms of our own with private baths!!! Laundry & internet access were key. Best of all Vince & Karen are AWESOME to deal with. I feel like I have known them for years. We would definitely stay at the McHenry House again and refer friends & family. Thank you for such great memories in Baltimore. The West Family ~ Tina, John & Derek

I am delighted to recommend McHenry House where I stayed with my sister and her family. We were over from Ireland for a 3-week period and were delighted with our choice of accommodation. It was absolutely superb. The rooms were all so well appointed and the kitchen was incredibly well equipped. The house was very clean and fresh, and really welcoming. Nothing was spared. The neighbourhood was nice and easy going – I’d love to be going back. In addition the Dunbars were extremely kind and helpful hosts. Thank you for everything. Ann.

I am on the crew for Disney's High School Musical which spent a month in DC and Baltimore. We rented this wonderful house as a hotel alternative and it was simply the BEST ever. Karen and Vince are the ultimate landlords with an eye on our comfort at all times. The house is awesome and very comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bath, the master bedroom has its own floor! The kitchen is very well put together, we had no problem with big dinners and a birthday party there. I would stay at McHenry House again whenever I have a chance!

My husband and I live in Baltimore and we had all my family (3 brothers and their significant others, my parents,+ 3 young children) visit from Mexico for X-mas and New Year. We had them stay at the McHenry House and they had a wonderful time. It was so convenient to have a room with a bathroom for each of the four couples. The kitchen was perfect for my family. The island allowed some of us to assist with food preparation or just to hang out pretending to chop this or that while the real chefs were cooking. The area in the basement was good for the couple with two kids because there´s so much space there to set an extra small inflatable matress, or sleeping bags like they did for the two little children. The living room was spacious enough for the kids to open X-mas gifts, watch movies, etc (Karen made sure there were board games and movies for the kids). And they were able to play with their new video game on the small televisions in the bedrooms. The wireless internet was something my family needed since my brothers had work related stuff they had to take care of and they were pleased with the feature. With such a varied group (ages and interests) we had the internet ready for all kind of searches on local shopping, dining etc. The Inner Harbor and Locust Point fireworks on New Year´s Eve were wonderful from the rooftop deck (it was very cold!!). The neighbors had been barbecuing for 24hrs and the smell was fantastic! The house next door offered a wonderful sample of the Baltimore spirit when it comes to Holiday decorating. The kids loved it! We also took them to Hampden, of course, to see the X-mas lights on 33rd. The McHenry House was extremely clean, the neighborhood felt very safe and close to so many attractions. We´d recommend the Dunbar´s place to any family that needs to have some of the "at home" feeling while on vacation. The Stanslaws and The Gonzalez-Romero Family

My wife, father, and in-laws stayed here for the Army Navy game and it was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere for food and fun (Hull street Blues was very friendly and the wood burning fire was great). The house was clean and with 4.5 bathrooms it was perfect for multiple guests. We also enjoyed watching football on the flat screen. We are already planning a return trip to Baltimore! Thnaks!

My two siblings, our spouses and niece came to Baltimore to meet some newly-found relatives of my grandfather's. He ran away from home as a boy and we only discovered this branch of the family almost 90 years later. The McHenry House was perfect for us all. It was great to have our own bathrooms but still be able to congregate. We had a good meal at Sabatino's and really enjoyed Geppi's Entertainment Museum where they even had my old Dale Evans pink-handled cowgirl pistol! We'd definitely recommend this house to others--both the house and its owners were a delight.

My 3 friends and I came from Philadelphia, PA; Glouster, VA; Hanover, PA; and Delaware, OH for a reunion after 30+ years! We loved seeing vibrant Baltimore. Our focus, however, was to connect and catch up. McHenry House was the perfect setting for this. We spent a lot of time in the dining room, eating, talking, laughing, talking, and playing Cranium and Trivial Pursuit (and TALKING!). When we wanted to eat, we picked up food from the local Indian Restaurant or ate the great burgers at the corner pub. On Sundays we walked to The Hull Street Blues Cafe for a great brunch complete with peach mimosas! Our neighbors were friendly, kind and helpful. We each enjoyed having our own bedroom and bath and we could all spread out. The house is so lovely and we all felt warm, happy and safe there. The Dunbars are nice folks and will do anything they can to ensure you have comfortable accommodations and enjoy your stay. I would recommend McHenry House without any hesitation. If you are lucky enough to be able to acquire reservations, you are lucky indeed.

We rented the McHenry House for my son's Baltimore wedding. It was perfect accomodations for our entire family in the best location in the city. It is spacious (2700 sf) and beautifully appointed. The neighborhood was quiet and safe with ample streetside parking. We enjoyed a wedding day brunch at Thornton's Pub half a block from McHenry House. They have the best crab cakes this South Carolina girl has ever eaten and the hostess was delightfully funny wishing condolences to our soon-to-be-wed son. We also had Sunday brunch at a cute bistro at Tide Point. I can't remember the name, but the location and food were excellent. Wish we could do it all over again. We loved Baltimore and the McHenry house too. Gale and Dexter Goodwin

What a gem! My husband and I were visiting Baltimore to see our son at Johns Hopkins. We brought the "grandmothers" with us and the house worked beautifully. They had their own private room and bath and we had the room at the top. The house was a welcome relief to come back to in the evenings and we spent our mornings at the counter in the kitchen drinking coffee and planning our day. The kitchen has everything you need and is beautiful with thick granite slab counters and modern appliances. Karen and Vince made sure the house has everything you need--it felt just like home. There is even a washer and dryer. Would highly recommend for families visting kids at JHU. It took 15 minutes to get to campus. It is centrally located with bars and restaurants within walking distance. There is a large supermarket 5 minutes drive away. We never had trouble parking the car and the neighbors were very friendly. We will definitely come back. Thanks so much! Dick and Penny, Ginny and Susan

The three most important things you need in a vacation rental are location, location and location! It doesn't hurt to have a beautiful place to stay, either. The McHenry House is not only situated in a nice, quiet area only a few blocks from the Inner Harbor area, it is well kept, updated with all the modern conveniences, and comfortable. The owners of the home obviously take great care in making sure that the people who stay there have everything they need, and are very pleasant to deal with. If you're looking for a "home away from home" during your stay in Baltimore, make sure to look into the McHenry House! Thank you very much for everything; you have a beautiful home, and we appreciate you opening it up to us in the way you did. Keith and Suzanne Edwards

The McHenry House provided wonderful accommodations for our family during our weekend trip to Maryland. Having so many members travel with us, we knew that a hotel would not be able to accommodate our needs. We searched and searched for weeks for a vacation home that would be both affordable and conveniently located all while providing us with the amenities we required. The McHenry House was all of this and much more! The house provided everything that we needed. The neighborhood was also very nice and centrally located. Having traveled so far, we were apprehensive about renting a house we had been unable to preview, but our expectations were exceeded. If you are ever visiting the Baltimore area, we recommend this property without reservation.

I want to say Thank you to the Dunbar's for their wonderful hospitality. This home is beautiful, very comfortable and feels like a home away from home. It is also very convenient to the city of Baltimore, the inner Harbor and Camden Yards. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. One of the neighbors recommended a place called "JR's" located right around the corner, that had the best Maryland crab cakes we found. We tried crab cakes at 3 different restaurants and "JR's" had the biggest, the best and the cheapest crab cake. JR's is a small neighborhood bar and restaurant. I have never rented a place from anyone who took so much personal interest in making sure their guest were comfortable. Thanks again to Vince and Karen!

We would like to thank the owners of the Mc Henry House for making their property avalable. The McHenry House made a great home for us on our trip to Baltimore. The house is beautiful and in great condition. The neighborhood was nice and the neighbors were friendly. The location made getting around very easy, its a short drive to the Downtown Inner Harbor area and just a short walk to the water taxi. There is a cozy little Irish Pub nearby for a drink or bite to eat and a nice little coffee shop that serves breakfast within walking distance (near the water taxi stop). I would stay here again and recommend this property to future renters.
