Why the Owner Chose Kilauea

The undeniable beauty of this remarkable property took our breath away immediately. The home is spacious enough to accommodate our whole family yet intimate enough that we stay connected. We all love to play on the secluded Larsen's Beach just a short walk away. Coco Moon is gorgeous and relaxing any time of year.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage

On 3.3 acres, Coco Moon feels private and restful. A short walk takes us to one of the most beautiful beaches on the islands. There are plenty of fruit trees on the property that provide us with exotic flavors and lush foliage year round.

Owner's Map of Kilauea

We are a fun loving family of eight. Our collective love of art, music, fresh air, travel and learning keeps our lives vivid and full of wonderful memories together.

One season we are taking in the crisp autumns, snowy winters, breathtaking mountain vistas and eclectic history of Northern New Mexico. Next we are soaking up the warm sunshine, tropical breezes, luscious flavors and sacred spirit of the Hawaiian Islands.

We are privileged to have found ourselves stewards of three remarkable properties in these magical locations. We have lovingly revived these homes, taking great care to honor the history and sacred space of each one.

It is our pleasure to share with you, our gracious guest, these special places so dear to our heart. Welcome, and may your visit with us become part of your own collection of wonderful memories!

Aloha!

Honeymooned at Coco Moon

We celebrated our honeymoon here. We found it very clean and well maintained. It felt secluded and private. Even though there were people staying in the nearby main house we never heard them and rarely caught a glimpse of anyone else on the property. Close enough for us to walk to, Larson's Beach felt like a private beach. No crowds here. Perfect if you want a relaxing place to get away from it all. This property is off the beaten path but not too far from Kilauea, where we enjoyed eating at the Fish Market, shopping at the health food co-op and savoring the best ice cream from the video store. Moloa'a Beach is a short drive and also very inviting. If you like to explore, like to be independent and enjoy your privacy you should like Coco Moon Cottage.

Great place to stay on Kauai

Guest: M & G (North Vancouver, Canada)
Date of Stay: 08/19/10 Review Submitted: 11/18/10

Coco Moon was really clean and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed. It is as it appears in the pictures. Good for a family of four probably a little tight for two couples even though there are two beds. One in the main area one above in the loft. There is a peak a boo view from the lanai to the water in the distance. It was about a 5 minute drive down the road to Larson's and another 10 minute walk down to the beach. Not a walk we would do at mid day as there is no shade. We only went to Larson's once. We thought the beach in Hanalei was much better, great access with showers and bathrooms. You must have a car out this far. Kappa is about a 20 minute drive for Safeway, Starbucks, restaurants or 10 minutes to Princeville also for groceries, restaurants and a gas station. The one negative were the centipedes. It is the tropics so that's the way it is. My husband got stung when he stepped on one in the middle of the night. He put his foot in very hot water and that took some of the sting away. We were on the lookout for others and saw a total of 4. We let the owners know and they were very apologetic and would deal with the problem. Even with the centipedes we would definitely return, easy for me to say I didn't get stung.
