This place is lovely. We usually have 6 children and 5 adults and have never felt crowded even when it rains. It is very well maintain and is just like home away from home. We are spoiled, after coming here it would be impossible for us to rent a cottage at a resort and feel as comfortable. The owners have been terrific. This has become our family vacation place for 4 years. The town of Battle Lake has lovely restaurants and gift shops. The Lake is perfect for children and fishermen alike. every year we take canoes and kayaks thru the channels. Highlight of our vacation.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.
Absolute perfection!

We have been traveling up north nearly every summer for many years. We have stayed at several resorts and rented other homes for the week, but nothing compares to this home and the lake. The home is beautiful and spacious. We have had up to 18 people there at one time and we have never felt too cramped or closed in. The house is very spacious and gives people room if they want to take in a nap or just to have some time for themselves. With the main floor being so open, one never feels isolated when preparing food or cleaning up after meals. You can always communicate with whomever you need. The spacious deck off the main floor gives us more eating area plus just a great place to hang out and be so close to the lake. Love the gates on the deck. We have children of all ages in our family and it's great that the younger ones can be outside without worrying about them getting to close to the lake. The lake itself is spectacular! It is so clean and clear. I have never seen another like this one. It is plenty big to go tubing on but yet you can find those quiet areas to do some fishing. It's a great lake to take a pontoon cruise on and see all the wonderful lake homes. The past 2 years we have stayed the week of the 4th of July. One would think the lake would be so crowded with boat traffic, but because of the size of it, you never feel like it is too busy, it is actually quiet from what you would expect. The location of this home is ideal. You are just barely out in the country, but so close to town that you can go in for groceries, take in the ice cream shop, shop the small town stores or take in one of the local restaurants. A nice balance of being at the lake but with amenities so close by. The ice cream shop is my kid's favorite!! I would recommend this home to anyone and everyone. The home is beautiful but comfortable. Very well kept. The owners have always been available per phone call or email if we ever had a concern or question during our stay. They make things very easy and that is what a vacation is all about. We hope to return for many more years!

Stayed for a long weekend in September and had a wonderful time. The house worked out nicely as we had a family reunion. We really enjoyed the firepit at night.

We actually stayed at the house in January with lots and lots of snow. The owner arranged to have the driveway plowed out for us. The house is beautifully decorated, very roomy with everything we needed for the weekend, including an assortment of games! It was very relaxing - and yes, we did do some ice fishing too! The owners were very helpful when making the reservation and were able to accomodate our needs. I would highly recommend this home.

We had a great lake at the week. You have made it so nice with the steps and the fire pit as well as all of the rip/rap along the shoreline. I cannot get over how CLEAN W. Battle Lake is. The DNR shows clairity of 12 - 15 feet for several years. Our group fishes!!! Dick was out every day by 6:00 a.m. - often with our two sons. Right out in front of the cabin they troll/drift back and forth. Must have caught over 100 Northerns - (seriously!!!) as well as walleye, bass, and perch. Another plus is that the little kids can always catch fish right off the dock. The young women in our group took their "floaties" and waded over to the neighbors' weed bed and fished right from the water. We all enjoyed tubing and swimming. My favorite thing, of course, is sitting on the dock with my cup of coffee just watching the water! Went in to Battle Lake on Thursday to the 11 o'clock turtle races. WHAT A MADHOUSE!!! This is a "MUST" event - (at least once!) :-) If we can get our far away family members to commit you KNOW we will be back. Thanks for letting us use your beautiful home. Our family spent a week here this summer. We had the best time!! The house is huge, clean and beautiful. We enjoyed the shopping, boating, fishing and most of all just relaxing. Our family made memories here that are precious and will last a lifetime. I'm hoping that we make it an annual vacation! THANK YOU!!
