We stayed here for 5 nites early November 07 and the location was ideal. Only about 10 minutes from the aiport with little, if any, traffic to contend with. Costco is nearby and Kona with its' Ali'i drive is quite close. The house is kept immaculate and the location is very quiet. We enjoyed sleeping in and then heading out to Ali'i drive or to other good nearby snorkeling beaches. Judy, the owner, also stocks quite a number of beach items like Boggie boards, coolers, picnic baskets, etc. and she knows the island well. The Stadium cinema next to K-mart is also about 10 minutes away. Of course we reserved the movies for after dark when you cannot swim nor can you see any of the beauty of Hawaii after sunset. I recommend this place for anyone wishing to spend some time in Kona.

Judy's studio apartment is the best vacation rental we've had in a decade of worldwide travel. The private location was close enough to Kona for sightseeing and shopping, but far enough above--at 1200' elev.--to avoid the mugginess. We enjoyed the fruits of the "farmlet" and Judy's "above & beyond" efforts to ensure visitors had all they needed to enjoy the area (beach equipment, weather forecasts, shopping & eating suggestions, directions) and her apartment (well-equipped kitchen, comfy bed & sofa-bed, plenty of towels, even bathrobes). We especially enjoyed Judy's conversation, sense of humor & generosity--she welcomed us with fruits from her farm & fabulous foccacia bread. We reveled in the view, had fun with the grill on the lanai, appreciated the lovely flowers, and watched the local birds, although we never saw the wild turkeys (only heard them). We hope to return to the Big Island and will definitely stay at Judy's Pacific View studio again. We are telling all our friends and relatives to stay here if they visit Hawaii. Thanks, Judy. You're fabulous. Roger, Beth & Emory, Seattle, WA

We recently stayed at Judy's studio apartment for nine nights and had a wonderful time. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day very late at night and Judy kindly treated us to a turkey dinner! She is a very nice and generous person. She supplied us with her homemade delicious bread, fresh fruits from her garden - fully ripe and sweet, and her coffee. She grows Kona coffee. Aroma and taste are wonderful. Judy gave us a discount card valid for many restaurants, and we used it several times. The apartment is actually a separate building with a garage for your rental car and studio above. Very private place in a quiet safe neighborhood. The studio is an open space with many windows. It gets cooling mountain breeze at night so you have a good sleep even after a very hot day. It has a lanai (veranda) - with spectacular view downhill on top of trees and ocean and sunset into the ocean. From lanai we could watch birds: two kinds of cardinals, wild turkeys and others. Also there was a barbeque set on lanai which we didn't use as we spent most of our time outdoors. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated with tropical flowers. Free WiFi internet and TV. The kitchen had all utensils, even an automatic rice cooker. There was everything in the bathroom: shampoo, conditioner, body lotions, and even cotton robes. Nice sink and shower. There were many things for the beach: beach towels, boogie boards, umbrellas, chairs, etc. We found everything very practical. We really liked our stay and we recommend the studio based on our own experience. Thanks Judy for making our vacation so nice!

We frequently travel to Kona to visit relatives and this is our new favorite vacation rental. When we arrived, Judy invited us in for tea and we were greeted by the aroma of her delicious homemade bread. She is such a warm and friendly host and we really enjoyed getting to know her. The studio is the perfect spot to take in the sunsets and unobstructed ocean view. You will definitely want to spend some time just relaxing here in this beautiful and quiet spot. Its an easy drive to many of the popular shopping areas, beaches and other local sites. There is a small grocery store just a few minutes away where you can pick up supplies or local favorites like fried rice and beef stew (they have a small take out window inside the store that opens early). We are planning to stay here during future trips to Kona and look forward to visiting Judy again.

We loved the location a little uphill, so it was not too hot in the mornings and evenings. Actually 15minutes to anywhere you need to go, Walmart, Target or Kua bay beach, our favorite during our stay. Judy is an amazing host, we ate her homemade bread (delicious) she is making for the farmers market and her self made smoothie with fruits from her garden. She helped us out with trips, with her local background/ knowledge more helpful then anything else read in the internet. We loved driving downhill in generell, oceanview at all time. We stayed here for 8 days, it was hard to leave, after many many years we were not looking forward of going home. We will definitely come back.

We have been here for our honeymoon. The first impression was “wow”, the second was “wooow”, the third was “woooowww”. It’s an incredible place and Judy was a perfect host. Beside that we found here everything we needed for almost anything: from full equipped kitchenette to many equipment for the beach (snorkeling, boogyboard, umbrellas, etc) and some hiking gear (flashlights), Judy was very kind to offer us some warm clothes for going up to Mauna Kea – it’s really cold up there. The fresh fruits from the garden were excellent. The Island is really big, no wander they call it “Big Island” :). Judy knows many good places for eating, beaches and places to visit – she’s like an encyclopedia. I recommend renting a car and especially a Jeep Wrangler, for off-roads sites (Waimea Valley with its black sand beach, Green Sand Beach in the South Point, the road to Mauna Kea, wild beaches and others). We spend 9 days here but it was too short to visit the whole island – a 2 week vacation is more suited. This place has a good location for who wants to have a quiet vacation (I hate big cities) and a good starting point for visiting the island. You will definitely need a car. For my next trip in Hawai’i, this is where I’ll stay and I’ll recommend it to all my friends. This place will exceed your expectations.

My husband and I spent five days at Judy's during our June honeymoon. First of all, Judy is the nicest and most generous host. She greeted us with fresh fruit and warm conversation upon our arrival, and every day would surprise us with something new, like passion fruit (my husband's favorite) or delicious homemade bread. The apartment is VERY clean and nice, and we loved having our breakfast outside on the lanai. There is so much to see and do on the Big island's Kona side, and Judy's is a great home base! Thanks! We just booked for our third time to visit Kona Pacific View - Your Private Oasis. The views are beautiful. It is a roomy studio and very private, above the garage. It is like having your own little house. Judy, the owner is a real sweetheart gem. She makes you feel very welcomed and at home. She is very generous with not only area information, but with her fresh garden juices and fruits. She has a big garden and grows many different fruits and vegetables. There is your own private Lanai and makes the evening sunsets views spectacular. We stayed here in 2010, 2011 and now just booked for 2012. For my husband and I, it is like a home away from home, but in paradise. The studio would also be okay for a couple with a small child, as the studio has a couch that opens into a bed.

This is the perfect place to enjoy Hawaii as it truly is! We were here for more than two weeks and all this time we felt as if we were a part of the island. The house is absolutely charming and is surrounded by a beautiful garden of fruit trees. The place is calm and quiet and all you can hear are the sounds of the birds and the breeze going through the trees. In the mornings we woke up to an amazing view of the island’s Kona coast, stretching for miles and miles, as far as the eye can see. Some days the wild turkeys came by in the garden and that made it all even more enjoyable, especially for our little daughter who loved them! Judy is a wonderful hostess: she made everything possible so that we enjoy our stay and we were spoiled by her delicacies: home-made bread, delicious fresh fruit from the garden and the best fruit sorbet we had – ever. Her warmth, friendliness and generosity made us feel at home on the beautiful Big Island and we had an unforgettable trip. This is a wonderful place that we would love to return to again.

We stayed in Judy's studio for 12 nights during Ironman-week. The studio is very new and big (for us 2 adults). You have your own house with a big lanai, a private garage for your car (which you will need to go to Kona "downtown" and the beach). If you want to go running, it's probably not the ideal place because the surrounding area is very hilly with a steep street to the house. You have everything you need, also for a long stay (fully equipped kitchen with 2 "mobile" hotplates, washer, dryer, beach euipment, all kind of towels,...). Judy is a very nice and helpful lady. She provided us all we needed: fresh pressed juice, fresh fruit from her garden, useful information about beaches, etc. Besides she has different kinds of herbs in her garden for your use (basil, rosmarine,...). The only "negative" thing we could say was that the studio was not really immaculate clean (some excrement of the geckos on the blinds, dust). Because the studio is located in the hills (about 10 min. drive to the Pier of Kona), it offers ideal temperatures for a restorative sleep, what you probably won't have down in Kona (unless you have air condition!). A very nice beach nearby is Kua Bay.
