Many years ago the noted author Ernest Hemingway discovered the silvery, squeaky, smooth SAND DUNES along the SUNSET side (Western) SHORELINE of the State of MICHIGAN where the beach is rockless with shallow,clean water! . MONEY Magazine's Cover (April '01 issue) featured the "Top 12 Vacation Spots" of the Northern Hemisphere (from Canada to the Caribbean), Michigan's SHORELINE DUNES were listed as 1 of the 12!
Adjacent to the unique SUGAR SAND DUNE beach SHORELINE you will find Michigan's noted "whispering" Pine trees, many State Parks and rivers(Muskegon and White Rivers) and the inland DUCK and WHITE LAKES which connect with LAKE MICHGAN affording access and recreation of all kinds from ice fishing and boating in the Winter to canoeing,kayaking and of course swimming in the Summer.

WE ENJOYED OUR STAY. BEACH IS A HIKE OVER A DUNE BUT IS GORGEOUS.THE LOCATION IS VERY PRIVATE. THE "FIRE PIT" WAS GREAT FOR BONFIRES AND SMORES. THE HOUSE ISN'T NEW BUT WORKED OUT WELL FOR US THE UPPER LEVEL HAS A NICE MASTER SUITE AND OPEN LIVING/DINING AREA. THE TWO DOWNSTAIRS BUNK ROOMS ARE FINE FOR CHILDREN. THE BED ROOM THERE IS ADEQUATE WITH A SLEEPING PORCH THAT COULD BE USEFUL. THE DECK IS GREAT, PARTICULARLY IN THE EVENING. WE WOULD RECOMMEND IT!

This house has a fantastic location, nice common spaces, good size bedrooms, OK kitchen, but not very well stocked. The downstairs bathroom was a bit old and dirty. There is no AC and the house does get hot. It's an easy walk to the beach, or you can even drive to Medford Park and take the concrete pier walkway, so it's a great option for famlies with small children or elderly.
Owner response:10 years of renting never had a guest mention kitchen understocked. A rare combination of Easterly and hi-90s daytime when most are at the fine LAKE MICHIGAN Beach,however, Ceiling+ floor fans for every room upon request. Family Vote: "A/C in our Beach house is blasphemy!" and years of family 3 Season experience: "TMD"=Typical Michigan Day! "Warm, Sunny and Breezy".
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
