Our family of four spent three nights at Vista Pines. It was an awesome way to greet the New Year! First, Craig was very efficient with responding to our e-mails. It was so easy to book this place, no surprises. We have used VRBO web site several times and have not had any problems. When we arrived, it was a welcoming site to see snow on the ground! We didn't expect very much as the weather had warmed up. Our parking spot was right in front of the cabin on flat ground. It was very convenient to just carry our stuff up a few stairs to the front door. The deck (covered) in front was very spacious and had four comfortable chairs plus a table with benches and a gas bar-b-q. And as a bonus, firewood was waiting for us right outside the front door on the deck! The view of the neighborhood was picture perfect with the snow. It is a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. I enjoyed my walks with my family and our two dogs. We did not use the backyard except to use the jacuzzi. If you have small children then they would really enjoy the play house and rope swing. The backyard is not fenced in. The inside of the cabin was very clean and cozy. The living area has a sofa and over sized chair so fit the four of us comfortably. There was also a nice fireplace that we made use of. The kitchen is well stocked with pot and pans, dishes, silverware, utensils, bowls, etc.... We cooked our New Years dinner and put it in the crock pot. There is nice sized table in the kitchen which seats six. It is placed so you can enjoy the view out the window facing the front. There is also a door leading out of the kitchen onto the deck (in addition to the front door and glass sliding door from the living room on to the deck) which gives you easy access to the stairs leading to the spa out back. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one has a queen sized bed and a twin bed, while the master has a king sized bed and also a twin bed. Both twin beds are low to the ground so no worries about anyone falling out of bed! Both bedrooms are very homey and stocked with plenty of linens and pillows. The bathroom was located at the bottom of the stairs. It had towels provided along with soap. The bathroom is small but serves its purpose. Overall, if you are looking for a quiet, cozy and relaxing place to get away then this might be it for you! It is not walking distance to shops or restaurants but a short drive will get you there in minutes.

The 5 of us stayed at Vista Pines for the recent 3 days weekend, and we all had a really good time. The house was very clean and charming. Everything we needed during our stay was available, including cooking utensils, bed/bath linens, tv/dvd entertainment stuff, fireplace, and the outdoor hot tub worked great. The house was located very close by to the skiing resort and the main strip of shops. The only advice I would give is "Bring Tire Chains just incase..." We would definitely stay here again Thanks Craig. chau & the boys...

Just spend a weekend in the the mountains for a couple of days of snowboarding with the girlfriend and a buddy, and Vista Pines was a great place to come home to enjoy a beer on the deck and then collapse in front of the fire. Though it posed a challenge for the Garmin when first getting there, the cabin is located in a very quiet neighbourhood within a few minutes drive of both ski areas and Big Bear Blvd (Vons, Gas, food, etc). The cabin itself heats up quickly and was very clean and well appointed (and enthusiastically wall-papered...). The owners obviously like to have the place looked after and the cabin as a whole just felt well cared for. And, as I mentioned, the deck out front is awesome. Overall, a clean, comfortable, conveniently-located cabin in the woods and a great base before and after a days adventure in the mountains.

Pefect Weekend Getaway

This was our family's first vacation in two years, and we only had three days to work with, so we really had to make it count! I am so thankful we chose to stay at Vista Pines. It was the perfect home base for a fantastic weekend with our two college age kids. Even with all the fun activities we enjoyed, (wave-rider, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, etc.) I think our most pleasureable moments were spent out on that beautiful front porch, barbequeing, eating, drinking, playing cards...whatever. You could easily just spend your whole weekend on that porch with a good book and your favorite bottle of wine. Inside, the house is very comfortable, clean and well decorated. We enjoyed the spa out back which heated up in no time. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you might need. The beds were comfortable. I slept like a baby. The location is great too; a quiet street with a very woodsy feel. We did most of our meals there at the cabin, but, the one time we did go out, we tried Nottinghams which turned out to be a very pleasant surprize. The food was great and the staff treated us very well. Try the fried pickles! Craig and family: thanks for a great weekend! We hope to be back soon. Brad

We loved the Vista Pines rental. They supplied everything a family needs. It is decorated very cute. It is cozy, but also big enough for a family. The kitchen was stocked to make cooking easy...but there are also plenty of restaurants close by..if cooking does not fit into your schedule or desire. It was located on a nice quiet street. We will be back again!!!!

The cabin was perfect! It was clean and very cozy. It was affordable and close to the mountain resorts. The hot tub was fun and required hardly any time to heat up. We were even snowed on while in the hot tub. We had a great weekend and will definitely come back in the future.
