I'm not sure where to begin. This was just what my family of four needed for the perfect family vacation. We weren't looking for attractions just quality fun and relaxing. With a three and one year old we weren't sure how a beach vacation would work out. The beach itself is nice and quiet. We simply plopped the two kids in the wagon from the garage and took the short walk to the end of the street for playing on the beach. Besides the very useful wagon, the garage was stocked with beach toys, chairs and bikes and bike helmets of all sizes. All of which came in handy. The cul-de-sac was the perfect place to ride bikes (I haven't ridden in 20 years) with our 3 year old for the first time. He had a blast and didn't want to go back home to our NYC two bedroom. Who can blame him. The back deck was great for grilling and the well stocked kitchen had all the dishes and utensils that we needed. When we go back, emphasis on "when" not "if", we'll likely bring another family with us. With just the four of us we didn't use the house to it's full potential. Another family of 3 or 4 would add friends for us and our kids to play with. Then maybe we'd have utilized the pool or ping pong tables in the basement. Overall this was a great vacation for our family and we really look forward to returning next summer.

Excellent accommodations and amenities, clean and well-maintained property for our three-generation family getaway! Lovely private lawns and gardens, view of marsh and fledging osprey from the back deck and ocean view from the front, short walk to quiet, clean sandy beach, perfect for relaxing, swimming, building sand castles and launching kayaks; meandering streets perfect for early morning and evening walks with the dog. Short drives to dining, shopping, golf, museums and diverse attractions appealing to all ages. Paula Ridge is responsive and very accommodating. We plan to return next summer!

This is the second time our family has stayed at this wonderful home. The owners have provided thoughtful items and conveniences for all ages and are gracious, considerate and totally efficient to deal with. Two families shared the space quite easily and we enjoyed many barbeques and beach visits with our extended family including four generations! The kitchen is so well equipped that we wanted for nothing when it came to indoor or outdoor entertaining. The home is very clean and attractively furnished and the yards and grounds are beuatifullty maintained. Our family totally enjoyed both stays and we look forward to visting inthe future.

We couldn't have found a better vacation rental. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here recently (June 2011). Situated on a quiet Niantic street (a very short walk from the beach), this home provides everything that a vacationer could want--from a game room in the basement a garage stocked with toys, sports equipment, etc., to lovely, well-appointed bedrooms, den, and living room. It is an ideal home for kids as well. There is a large back yard, a lovely furnished deck on which you can enjoy meals as well as view the nesting ospreys nearby. Furthermore, the owner is accommodating and a delight to deal with. This is one of the nicest and hassle free rentals that we have every had. We highly recommend it.

Our family returned to this wonderful home for our Reunion 2011, and once again we had a fun filled, terrific time. The home opens its arms and welcomes all...this is due in great part to the home's owners, Paula and Dave, who are so accomodating,thoughtful and helpful. The rooms in the living area are large and comfortable, and our little girls found games and space to play inside the home. They loved all the vehicles in the garage and enjoyed pulling each other in the wagon and playing soccer.The beach was a bit hit for our little ones, as they were able to walk there and dig in the sand. The bedrooms provided privacy and comfort for each family. The spacious and well stocked kitchen is the heart of this home...whether one is enjoying a delicious meal or visiting with each other. As an added bonus, we were able to sit on the lovely deck or stand on the lawn and watch the osprey build their nest. We had a happy, wonderful reunion...thank you Paula and Dave for letting us visit!

Perfect in Every Way

This lovely property is the perfect spot for a family gathering. We had family members ages three to seventy-five coming from different parts of the country for a special celebration and everyone loved this house. It is spacious, comfortable and meticulously maintained. It is located in a great spot with beautiful views and very pretty yard and gardens. The home comes equipped with so much - library, entertainment, basement game room, beach and sporting equipment and more! If only we could have stayed long enough to enjoy it all. The owners are very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. If our travels bring us back to the area we will definitely stay here again!

Our family of 8 adults and 5 young children have a spring reunion every year, and we chose this beautiful, charming home in Niantic for spring 2010. The owners, Paula and David were at the home, and they greeted us warmly and openly. The home reflects their personalities. The home is spotless and gracious...the women commented on all the details, including tissue boxes in all rooms! The children enjoyed the yard, toys, beach and the nearby playground, and the adults loved playing pool, table tennis and foose ball. What a fun time! The kitchen and bathrooms are a delight and filled will any article one might need. The bedrooms are spacious and provided comfort and personal space. We loved the home, it was the best we have visited during our special weekends, and we hope to return next year.

I rented this home in September 09 for my wedding. First, I just want to say that the owner's of this home were so accommodating and so great to work with! Their home is absolutely beautiful, I regret we couldn't stay longer. They keep it very clean and there are so many things to keep you busy in the house, you really just need to pack food & clothes! I hope to stay for my anniversary for many years to come. Thank you again!

This home is absolutely wonderful!!! My wife and I rented this property for a week and my only regret was that it couldn't have been for longer. We have three children under 2 1/2 years of age and we did not have to worry about anything. This house comes fully equipped to handle several children of all ages and it was incredibly nice not to have to pack up our car with pack n' plays, high chairs, and tons of other things that would have made our trip much less enjoyable... everything is there waiting for you (clean and in great condition)! We also hosted a small family reunion of sorts and the accommodations and location were perfect! This place has it all; beautiful yard, private beach, tons of equipment and fun activities for all! Despite unfortunate circumstances for our trip, this home helped make the entire experience as wonderful as it could have been and I hope we can return soon. Lastly, Paula is as wonderful as her property! Having only spoke over the phone a few times, it is no surprise to me that the home is so beautiful and clean when such a classy, enthusiastic, and extremely friendly and helpful person is in charge of its care! Thank you Paula for such a remarkable experience; I hope to talk again soon to arrange another vacation! *****!

Home was clean, warm and inviting....large enough to accommodate our big family, and with every possible amenity one might think of to entertain a bunch of kids ranging from infancy to teens. Board games, videos, and books galore.....pool, ping pong, foosball, mini-pool....bicycles in every size, beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas....even infant toys and seats were all available. The kitchen was well stocked, and the laundry room made it a pleasure to pack for home without the dirty laundry of 7 kids!!! You don't need to pack much more than a toothbrush and a swimsuit - everything you might need is in this lovely home :-) We were lucky to have beautiful weather throughout our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the private Oak Grove beach as well as the nearby beach and playground, Mystic Seaport and Aquarium, Bishop's Orchards pick-your-own fruit and berries, and Ocean Beach Park. Highly recommend!

A Scottish Review Macnor Glasgow, Scotland Review Submitted: August 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009 As holiday accommodation goes, this has got to be one of the best places we have ever stayed. The beach house we rented became our home from the moment we arrived, as thanks to the owners Paula and David, the information we recieved before our trip, all the way from Scotland, helped us quickly establish ourselves in our holiday home. Our host's advised that we have a good old nosey around the house to help us locate everything we might need for our holiday and we were amazed as they had thought of everything and we wanted for nothing. The house was warm and inviting, beautifuly furnished and very clean. The location was perfect for everyone in our party from our youngest at 7 years to oldest at 76 years young. To the front of the house we could see the ocean and to the back of the house the marsh with lots of wildlife and an Osprey nesting with it's young. We loved sitting out on the deck which was very spacious and the outdoor shower was fantastic.The kids loved the bikes, the kayaks, the pool table, the ping-pong table and every toy and game imaginable. For the ladies we loved the hugh kitchen, the piping hot water for showers and baths as well as the choice of books and videos to help us relax. For the men they enjoyed cooking on the barbeque and if truth be told they also enjoyed all the same things that the kids loved. Even with ten in our party the house always seemed to provide enough space for everyone to do their own thing. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants a little piece of paridise at the beach and who really can appreciate a host who has really thought of everything to make your holiday special. All they ask is that you enjoy their home and when you are done , put every thing back where you found it to enable the next guest to enjoy their holiday. Scotland is renowned for it's hospitality and Paula and David should be congratulated on the level of hospitality they provided their guests. If we visit this part of America again, this would be the home we would rent. Brilliant place, a real home from home at the beach.

Our family stayed here a few weeks ago. The house is wonderful and very clean! The owners think of everything you could possibly need. In addition, the house's close proximity to the beach, the toys and games and the big backyard are perfect for children. We had a great weeklong vacation!

We stayed at this house last July (2009) and it was wonderful! The house was clean and spacious. Everything you can think of is included, it was very impressive and a short walk to the beach. Paula (the owner) was very nice and easy to reach. I was able to bring my dog (a Yorkshire Terrier) with me which was a huge relief as I do not leave him, where I go he follows. We would without a doubt recommend this property to friends and family. It was the most enjoyable, stress free week I have had in a very long time!

Even though my husband and I live only 25 minutes away, we rented this home, to house my parents, my brother’s and nephew’s family as well as ourselves, for our daughter’s wedding weekend. It was closer to the wedding venue and worked out perfectly for all of our needs. We all felt at home and were able to enjoy each other’s company for the whole weekend, without the confines of hotel rooms. The house is comfortable, well appointed and whether it was raining or sunny, we had plenty to keep us busy and were even able to have a small brunch, the morning after the wedding, for our out of state relatives and friends. We loved sitting out on the back deck overlooking the salt marsh or watching the sailboat races from the front porch or down at the beach. The owners were accessible by phone and email and they have thought of everything you could possibly need or want. We would definitely recommend this home to rent. Absolutely wonderful.

I rented this home with a group of 12 friends for as surprise birthday weekend for my Husband and it turned out to be an amazing weekend!!! The house is perfect, it is stocked with everything you need and more. The first night we were there it was raining, so we spent the whole time in the basement playing pool, ping pong, and foosball. It was a blast! The beach is beautiful! And the back yard is great! we spent all day saturday barbecuing on the deck and enjoying a warm fire in the fire pit. It was perfect and SO relaxing! The house is very large and easily slept 12 adults. And would be perfect for families. There are childrens bikes, toys, cribs, ect. They really thought of everything!! All you need to do is bring yourself and food and you will have a great time, everything else is there!! I would recommend this home to everyone- in fact I already have!

We have rented several other houses and found that this was the best house - by far! Extreemly clean, well stocked and things for all ages to keep everyone entertained. The adults relaxed and all the kids enjoyed all the extras that were provided. The beach was relaxing and quite. GREAT HOME!

This home was absolutely immaculate! Everything was pristine and lovely, and very well organized. Everything that you need for a wonderful beach vacation is here, from beds to sleep 12, plus a nice crib, plus plenty to do if it rains all week, with a pool table, ping pong, and fooz ball. The kitchen was large and bright, bathrooms (2.5) clean and nice, and the beach a short 2-3 minute walk away. You can see the water from the front yard and a few front windows. We will be coming back!

We just left the house and had an absolutely fabulous week at the beach! The house was immaculate, very spacious and provided anything and everything you could possibly think of for the perfect family vacation! The kids loved the bunk beds, I enjoyed the books in the library (read one in one day!) and the beach was beautiful and very private. My husband was very excited about the fishing equipment, and we all enjoyed some fun games of pool in the basement. I can't say enough about this house - the street itself is full of beautiful homes but this house has a backyard for the kids. Thanks so much, Paula!
