This was the perfect location for what we needed on our last trip to SF - close to financial district, Union Square / shopping, Chinatown, cable car lines, you name it. The flat is roomy and accurately described on the listing. We were 2 couples and 1 single and had more than ample room. Very comfortable and nicely furnished - we will definitely go back if we have a group that size again. Jill's extra touches are great - fresh flowers and bread. We were there for 5 nights and it was such a treat to feel right at home. As others have mentioned - if you don't like stairs, this isn't the place for you. However, you're going to be walking hills anyway because that's part of being in SF! One more thing - the rooftop patio is such an added bonus and window views are great.

My family (two adults and four children ages six through 12) Stayed here over early spring break 2013. The property is beautiful. A third / fourth floor walk up on a street half a block from the main square housing Grace Cathedral, the Fairmont, and the Mark Hopkins. The property was very well appointed and very comfortable. The location honestly could not be better. We were a fun cable car ride from all family-friendly activities, a two block walk downhill to the cable car museum, next door to a wonderful Italian restaurant, with a small grocery store 200 feet away. We loved every minute of it, and the location and comfort of this property eere very big factors. I especially loved having the rooftop deck to look out over the bay in the mornings. The beds are very comfortable and we all slept well. This is something I cannot say for many properties I have stayed at before, both through VRBO and at hotels. I would give this property my highest possible recommendation. In fact, I already have to several friends. As a disclaimer, I do not know the owner, nor have I ever met the owner personally. I'm not receiving anything for writing this review.

Our family enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much. The pictures are accurate, the apartment very clean and spacious. We were a family of 4; parents, grandpa, teenage son. Everyone had their own space and we were able to entertain an additional 4 people at the dining room table and in the living room area in comfort. Having the Nob Hill Cafe next door and a convenience store down the block were a great plus. Stairs to apartment were a bit of work out for Grandpa but he said the accomodations were worth it. We would love to stay again, even considered moving in! Cable car is two blocks up, Grace Cathedral nearby, beautiful to look at with yoga classes open to public, Peet's Coffee in basement area. Easy access to Union Square. Owner was lovely and gave great advice.

The house offered fantastic accommodation for our family of 5. There was plenty of space and bedrooms to fit us all and the central location was convenient to the nearby cable car lines in either direction to Union Square or Pier 39. Would have no hesitation in recommending it to families looking for very comfortable and spacious accommodation.

If you want to experience the real San Francisco, forget the overpriced hotels and choose the apartment at 1130 Taylor Street, Nob Hill! Myself and a group of colleagues from the UK visited the City by the Bay for the worlds largest Public Health conference. The decision to choose this property was based on economics (great value for money) and location. But having called the place home for a week, the decision to return will be based on the great experience of the City which was enhanced by staying at this great apartment. The process of booking was very smooth, and the owner was very helpful (even leaving a fresh loaf of sourdough bread, which is a must try). A first word of warning, when you go through the front door you are greeted by a daunting staircase, but scaling those stairs is well worth it and gives you good practice for the many hill you will encounter in San Francisco. The apartment was immaculate and being fortunate to have stayed the first night on my own I could appreciate the property and all it has to offer, including the amazing views from the roof terrace. The location and surrounding area is also worthy of a mention. Huntington Park and Grace Cathedral are a short walk from the apartment, China Town within easy walking distance and if you head to the right upon leaving the property and tackle a rather steep hill, you are rewarded with stunning views of Alcatraz (this must be visted!) and Coit Tower (which is worth a visit, particulary for its vantage point and views over the City and of the Golden Gate Bridge just as long as it is not misty!). Speaking for myself, this was the first time I had rented an apartment, and based on this experience I am sure I will do so again in the future. My only hope is that any future experience of property rental is as smooth and that the property itself is as pleasureable as the recent stay in Nob Hill.

We just finished a wonderful trip with family made all the more so due to this lovely home in San Francisco. The owner is so helpful and very interested in making your visit special and comfortable. The upstairs masters suite with sitting room and large bath has its own rooftop garden area - a perfect lookout for Coit Tower. We did have a car but you do not need one with trolley cars and buses so close by. Grace Cathedral is beautiful and you have a convenient neighborhood grocery less than a half a block away. Oh, we hope to be back soon!

Two grandparents, parent and three kids stayed here for a week. We had a wonderful time. The place is spacious, location is great, muni options close, park close, Nob Hill cafe close, corner market close. We were able to get to wharf area, marina area, south beach area, financial district, etc from this central location. The beds were comfortable & living space great for us to spread out. Loved the gift of sourdough bread and coffee and appreciated the basics being there like sugar, salt, odds and ends of cereal & other foods, plastic baggies, etc. Some VRBO's have not furnished toilet tissue, paper towels, and soap. There was even a nice selection of Legos and games which the kids enjoyed. Great tourist info available, esp. liked box of walking tours. Being so close to Grace Cathedral was a plus. We did not find the steps to the apartment a problem..easier than the many steep hills! Owner was great to work with. I am SO glad we were able to stay here! Highly recommend this place.

The townhouse was amazing. It was very clean and located in a great area. The owner had left us two loaves of sour dough bread and fresh flowers in the master bedroom. We arrived an hour before check-in and had a fabulous lunch at the Nob Hill Cafe that is only two doors down from the residence and recommended to us by the owner. We were traveling with our three adult children and our son-in-law and it was wonderful that everyone had their own space. We were able to walk to Chinatown, the North Beach area, and the Coit tower. After a full day of sight seeing, it was nice to return to our little oasis and relax with appetizers on the roof patio. My only negative would be that the stairs leading up to the apartment might be difficult for older guests to navigate.

If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable, perfect home for your family on Nob Hill, look no further. Our family of five found this home to be a wonderful place to spend our two weeks in San Francisco. Although parking is an option, we decided to walk everywhere to enjoy the area and get some exercise. Within walking distance are Grace Cathedral, attend worship if possible or yoga on Tuesday evenings, Chinatown, Cable car museum, whole foods, Safeways, one by wharf area, the other by Embarcadero, and 24 hour fitness gyms. The set up is perfect for a family as two bedrooms are on the main level with the family room and kitchen. The master suite is its own apartment as it is on the top floor, complete with a spacious sitting area, work desk, and deck for viewing the Sf sights. The bedroom portion of the suite is surprisingly roomy and comfortable; the luxurious sheets were an added bonus. The window seat in the family room is my favorite spot to warm up by a cozy fire, enjoy a good book, or simply people watch. There is a restaurant downstairs for a quick bite, and there is a small market on the corner for last minute items. Jill was very helpful with any and all questions. Thanks so much We hope to return next summer as this home has everything we need with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy ourselves.

We were all completely delighted with this beautiful and well-located town home. It was luxurious in every way with a solid feel of a home that had been well taken care of for many years. The rooms were filled with light from the multiple sky lights and the windown all had views of either Coit Tower, the Bay Area and bridge or Grace Cathedral (which chimed the hour) The upstairs bedrrom / bathroom - additional den area and roof garden was enjoyed by my grandchildren as their get away. The proximity of small resturants and local grocery store in the same block was enjoyed and appreciated. This VRBO listing is the best we have enjoyed so far.

We just spent a week in this VRBO. Thank you Jan for the fresh flowers, the fresh bread, and the beautiful furnishings. The town house became our home away from home from the moment we stepped through the door. The bedrooms , the bathrooms, spacious kitichen, dining room and living area were all beautiful and most importantly ..... comfortable. We ate breakfast on the rooftop patio and watched the fog roll in in the evenings. I can only hope that we will be able to visit you again in the near future. Thank you soooooo very much. My dear friends and I travelled to San Francisco for a "girl's getaway", and could not have been happier with the accomodations. The townhome was elegant, spotless and had plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed the roofdeck tremedously and also loved the neighborhood restaurant and grocery just a few steps outside the front door. Getting around was also very managable with MUNI passes that allowed us continual use of trolleys and buses---we were able to see so much of the city in just a few days! None of us would change a thing and hopefully we will get to stay there again in the future-the best spot in the bay!

My daughters and I stayed at this propery for a long weekend and were very pleased. The apartment was immaculate, well appointed, with a floor plan that allowed for both privacy and togetherness. We missed being able to just walk out the door to a bakery- such a small thing! - but found all we needed within walking distance. Walking to and from theater, shopping, public transportation was easy and convenient. I would certainly book this apartment again.

This was a great way to visit one of our favorite cities. The location could not have been better. On our last visit to SF my wife and I discovered a little Italian restaurant we wanted to take our daughter to. Imagine our surprise to find out Venticello's was only a short 2 block walk away. Nob Hill Cafe is now our second favorite Italian restaurant (get there by 7:30 at the latest or you will have an hour wait). My wife is greek so we tried Kokkaris (must make reservations in advance) which was upscale and yet cozy. Food was delicious. The flat had everything we needed to be comfortable and is within walking distance to cable cars to take you to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and downtown. We rented a car (only to visit schools) which in this city is not needed. Thankfully Jill was able to set us up with a parking spot a few blocks away. The $10 dollar a day charge is a bargain since street parking is next to impossible. The rooms are spacious as is the flat. Stopped at TraderJoe's for wine and cheese, it was nice to come "home" to spread out and relax eace day before heading to dinner. When traveling with a family, this is the only way to go. We can't wait to come back!

Had a wonderful time in San Francisco, and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. This flat is absolutely beautiful, and every detail has been taken care of to ensure a carefree stay. The fully stocked, lovely kitchen makes cooking easy, and the corner market, just steps away from the front door, makes shopping a breeze. You can eat your meals on the beautifully set dining room table, or take them out to the rooftop deck and eat while enjoying a view of the bay. The upstairs master bedroom and bathroom are absolutely beautiful, and stocked with everything you need. Downstairs, the bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, and the sheets on all the beds are as soft as clouds. Perfect location for exploring practically every hot spot; we walked everywhere, but could have easily grabbed the trolley or bus almost at the doorstep. Jill, a thousand thanks for a terrific stay...we can't wait till next time!

This apartment is charming and spacious with beautiful old architecture. It is very clean and has everything you need and more! There was a fresh loaf of bread, coffee and a bottle of wine welcoming us, and there were plenty of spices and a few staples in the well-appointed kitchen. The location is great for walking to Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, Pier 39, the ferry building, the Embarcadero, Union Square and Chinatown. If you plan to drive, it's great to have a space in the parking garage just one short block away. The owner was extremely responsive and easy to work with. Our stay in SF was greatly enhanced by staying at this Nob Hill townhome. My wife and I, along with our two young adult children, found this place to feel like "home" after each day of sight seeing. The property is clean and well-maintained and the owner, Jill, was extremely helpful in answering any questions we had prior to and during our stay. We chose to rent a car even though public transportation is within a block or two of the residence. Parking is provided for a small fee and it was worth every penny. The italian resturant located two doors down was fantastic and the views from the living room were wonderful. We would recommend this property to anyone staying in San Francisco. It truely made our trip a joy!

We had a lovely stay in this charming Nob Hill apartment. From the beginning, during the rental process, we found the owner to be helpful, responsive and thorough. She provided all the information and assistance we needed pre-arrival, and we were delighted to find all the thoughtful amenities she provided to make our entry and stay comfortable (soaps, toilet paper, condiments, travel guides, etc.), especially the fresh loaf of San Fran sourdough that we enjoyed only minutes after arriving! We had more than enough space for our family of four (two kids and two adults) and found the apartment to be spacious and very comfortable. Plus, you cannot beat the location! The parking pass for the garage located a block from the apartment is great if you need to park a car. Overall, great accommodations for your stay in San Francisco -- highly recommend it!

It is the quintessential Nob Hill/San Francisco townhouse. Charming, bright and welcoming. The stairs into the apartment and hills of SF were a bit of a shock to us flat-landed Melbournians but did not at all detract from the attraction of the property. Jill is an excellent host and we thank you Jill for letting us in that little bit earlier and out little bit later - it helped tremendously with all our luggage. Jill was also very very helpful with information, tips and recommendations. I would definately recommend this property to other travellers.

We stayed at this apartment for six nights in late January 2011 and found it to be perfect for us. My wife and I, her mother, our daughter, son-in-law and three young children fit very comfortably into the three bedroom/two bathroom layout. The lovely and generously-sized living room, dining room and kitchen made easy accommodation for meals and evenings, with plenty of room for the kids to play (with toys supplied!) while the adults visited. All aspects of the suite seemed to work very well with plenty of hot water, working appliances, etc. The cupboards were pre-stocked with basics like condiments, toilet paper, plenty of clean towels and miscellaneous supplies. Our arrival was made all the more merry by the loaf of fresh SF sourdough waiting on the kitchen table. Because it is 36 steps from the sidewalk to the living level, which is generally not a problem, this suite would not be that well suited to those with walking disabilities. Locationally, this place is hard to imagine improving on. Nob Hill is a terrific location -- clean, safe, and central to many of the city's highlights. Yet despite being at the centre of things, the suite is very quiet and easy to sleep in, even with bedroom windows opened. There is a lovely view of the Coit Tower and part of the Bay from the upper roof deck. The next door italian restaurant makes very good food including great take-out pizza. Beside the restaurant there is a laundry which takes in washing. And next to that, a convenience store stocked with all the basics as well as wine and beer. Wait a minute... You're on vacation. Wine and beer ARE basics. It's a short three block downhill walk to Chinatown, then another hour or so of interesting walking to either the Embarcadero or Fisherman's wharf. Getting back up is easy as the Muni bus stops are within half a block of the entry door in either direction. As we had driven here from Canada in two vehicles, we needed parking. This was easily had in the very nearby Masonic Hall underground parking where the owner has a permanent reserved spot included in the price, with a second one available for a reasonable cost. We left the vehicles parked and used transit or walked to most locations. All in all, we can VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this suite as a perfect place to stay in SF if you have a need for three bedrooms. Other good news: the owner is just finishing a two bedroom suite below this one which should be available soon. A GREAT SPOT!

This flat is beautiful and centrally located. Our family, including 3 small grandchidren, stayed here and found it perfect for us. There is a park a half a block away, which was great for the children. We took public transportation or walked everywhere (even the 3 year old walked the hills). The flat was very clean, and the photos don't really do it justice in terms of how pretty it is and comfortable it is. The cleaners next door does wash and fold laundry for a reasonable fee. The Italian restaurant next door to the cleaners is well priced with very good food. The cable car museum was very interesting and free. We loved our stay.

Dear Jill, Our family had a wonderful vacation this last week! We visited Yosemite, and the headed back to San Francisco where we explored many of the nooks and cranny's of the city. We rode go-cars, took the ferry to Alcatraz, ventured across the Golden Gate Bridge on bikes, enjoyed Sausalito and Tiburon. Our stay would not have been nearly as confortable had we stayed in a hotel. Thanks for a beautiful flat with all the comforts of home! Can't wait to come back again!

Dear Jill, We've had a wonderful time in S.F; thanks to you and your lovely townhome we had a cozy, private respite at the end of each day. That really ment a lot to us and our two teenagers! We enjoyed a night tour of Alcatraz, the arcade museum @ Fisherman's Wharf, a Giant's baseball game, the Golden Gate Bridge . . . and many fine eateries! We are sorry to leave, but hope to return some day

This was our first experience with a Vacation Rental, and we couldn't have been happier! The location of this townhome is perfect! We bought muni passes that were good for any buses or cable cars, and we usually took advantage of the cable cars to get us downtown or Fisherman's Wharf. The townhouse was just as promised, and was so ideal for our family to "hang out" in during our stay - We would have needed 3 hotel rooms and then we would not have had the living room to visit or watch TV together - not to mention the kitchen and dining room. It would have been a very different trip! The owner also provided us with a pack 'n' play and toys for the little one in our group! And for the rest of us: a fresh loaf of San Francisco Sour Dough Bread was waiting for us on the kitchen table. I heartily recommend this townhome for anyone looking for accommodations in SF! You will not be disappointed!

We stayed for eight nights, through the 2009/10 new year. Family of five, with three children. This apartment was a very welcome retreat after three weeks on the road, staying in small hotel rooms. We had so much space to spread out, and with all of the facilities we needed. Some extra special touches, including a Christmas tree!!! Brilliant location which enabled us to explore all parts of this great city. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

The house was absolutely gorgeous. My two year old love the expansive space and the Thomas the Train set the owner thoughtfully left in the house for him to play with. The playground a block away was also a huge hit. This house has magical powers. My two month old began sleeping through the night for the first time since she was born! The owner made sure our stay was comfortable, even setting up not one but two pack and play, a booster seat and had a fresh loaf of the famous San Fran sourdough bread waiting for us in the kitchen upon our arrival. The location was also key. You could easily walk to every tourist sight or take the cable car, which is also within a walking distance from the house. We rented a minivan, and the parking garage is an easy walk from the house and included in the price of the rental fee. The property is clean, airy, bright, and the owners were extremely gracious. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and family. I hope to return and return soon!

This was a great place to stay....very spacious and close to everything! Jill was very accomodating, we had small children and she arranged for a pack and play, booster chair and even left a small bag of toys. There is also a great park only half a block away. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything was very clean. Great rooftop garden with views of the bay. Parking was about a block away, but nice to have if you need a car.
