I was happy to see as we opened the door to our rental that I really did know what to expect...the description and photos provided in the listing are exactly what you get. What you may not expect is what a delightful experience it was working with the home owner...and his follow up on site is fabulous! There are stacks of local maps and info on all the larger attractions in the area. He backs that up with a folder on the kitchen counter with the local markets, drugstores, banks, restaurants, hardware stores and even local hiking trails...this (along with the Fry's Grocery card he included with the key sets) came in VERY handy! The pool is kept up beautifully, I only wish that it had been warm enough to use it! the home itself was comfortable with lots of room and ample supplies of linens on hand for an extended stay. Location is important to me as this rental was for the two weeks of Tucson Gem Show, so I like to be close enough to get to the various shows with ease, yet far enough away to get away from the Gem Show crowds if I want to go out in the evening - I couldn't have been happier. I think that between the three of us we tried every Sushi restaurant between the Tucson Convention Center and the house...recommendations include: Sushi Garden on Broadway and Sushi Cho closer to downtown on Broadway, there are also some good national chains starting at Swan & Broadway with Macaroni Grill, Claim Jumper and in the same area Target, B of A, Chase and Starbucks. After full days walking gem shows for hours we usually went home for a quiet evening in...and the great WIFI and Cable TV were a blessing! This is one of those hidden gems - you are almost afraid to tell everyone about it because it won't be there when you want it! Would I recommend it to friends? I am recommending it to you! Would I do it again? I have already booked it for 2013!

I recently stayed in Al's house over the holidays. It was a great place to stay with my mom and boyfriend. The house is well equipped with everything you need, it is conveniently located in central Tucson, and the owner (Al) is very attentive and responsive. We found the experience much more enjoyable than staying in a hotel. I highly recommend the house and the house's owner! 5 stars all the way!

Well-cared for, comfortable house with a great pool in a very convenient location, especially for first-time visitors to Tucson. Easy to get to Saguaro Natl Park East or West; close to shoppings, restaurants. Owner is very helpful and responsive.

We rented the house over the Christmas holiday to rendezvous with our two college-age children. Plenty of room for everyone and much more enjoyable than a hotel. The house was clean and well stocked with bedding, towels, and basic necessities for the kitchen. If you are really into cooking you may want a place with more space and equipment but it met our needs. Our primary activity was hiking and the house is well located for this with good access to the north and east. The neighborhood was quiet. Everything went smoothly and as promised. We would gladly stay there again.

This is a great clean place to stay in a quiet Tucson neighborhood, centrally located, and the nicest, most helpful owner imaginable. Al went out of his way to make our stay easy, hassle-free, and comfortable! The pool was a really nice plus, and plenty of room to accomodate us and three teenaged girls too!! Thank you so much Al, we look forward to staying again soon!!!

We found our stay very enjoyable. The house was clean and comfortable and convenient to shopping, golf, sightseeing, walking, groceries. Neighborhood was safe. Appreciated the security system. Overall, would give this rental a thumbs up and recommend it. Were sorry to leave when the time came but all good things must come to an end. Al stayed in touch and showed concern throughout our stay. Thank you, Al.

A very comfortable home from home! We had a couple of barbecues during our stay and our guests all commented on how lucky we were to have found it. The owner did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable, and, together with the very convenient but quiet location, this is a property well worth a return visit. Thank you so much Al - we're looking forward to next year!

We stayed at the house for one week while we visited Tucson and the surrounding area. The group consisted of myself, my wife and our two sons ages 8 and 6. The house was great and we couldn't have asked for more. Al is a very considerate host and he made the booking process easy. The house is in a good location and set up well for relaxing in after a day of sightseeing. The pool isn't heated so don't expect to swim in it if you visit during the wintertime. Great experience. Thank you Al.

This home made our stay in Tucson for about a week extra special. It is conveneniently located with easy access to main thoroughfares. The house itself is very clean and comfortable. Friends who saw it were very impressed. Al, the owner, is really cordial, honest and accommodating. It was very well equipped with virtually everything one would need or want. If we were to return to Tucson, it would be a pleasure to stay there again.

This house was exactly what our family needed for a short stay in Tucson to attend the Funeral of my Grandmother. The house was clean and it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. It is conveniently located to all that Tucson has to offer. The owner was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay. This is a very convenient way to stay somewhere. We will definitely use Vaction Rental By Owner dot com again for our future travel needs. The Yegerlehner Family

This is a sweet home that makes a one week stay so pleasant. After having so much room to call our own, I cannot imagine traveling with 3 adults and staying at a traditional hotel. Our visit was during the final week of the Gem and Mineral show and so the easy drive to this quiet neighborhood was a relief after all the crowds. We were never far from where we wanted to be. After being on our feet all day it was great to pop in a movie and spread out while enjoying an easy dinner at home. In February, with snow ringing the mountains framed in the windows, it was too cold to swim so we just looked longingly at that huge pool, it would be such fun in warm weather. Al is a good host and provides a lot of info on local restaurants and directions, as well as keeping the house stocked with not only soaps and shampoos, along with soda and other drinks which was surprising, but little things like band-aids and rubber bands and packing tape, all those tiny things that you might have to go to the store to find at the last minute. We had planned to go hiking nearby, and Al has provided directions to hiking areas, but the Mineral shows were exhausting. Those trails will have to wait for another visit, but we will visit again and we plan to stay here when we do.

What a great place to stay. So close to stores and restaurants that we did a lot of walking. The home is lovely and has everything you need. Just love sitting by the pool and enjoying the sun. A wonderful friendly neighborhood. The owner makes sure you have everything you need and is so gracious. We definetly will be back. Thanks Al for a wonderful 6 weeks. Aaron & Deanne

This email marks my second visit. My favorite spot is the private pool with the Saguaro Cactus next to it. I love all of the magazines and literature here; I open up a magazine, pick a spot and take a road trip. Being a Bird Watcher, I can sit in the Arizona Room with my coffee in the morning and watch a wide variety of birds visit. Very comfy place.
