  Was looking for a comfortable, clean and quiet place to spend the weekend, and this place more than exceeded my expectations. The Nantucket cottage was absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The home was clean and fresh, the owner was fantastic in returning my calls and emails, and the best part?? The place is literally four houses down from the beach! Not to mention you can take a stroll in the evenings to eat at one of the local restaurants in the area. Very peaceful and relaxing. It was one of the best places I have stayed in a long time and cannot wait to return!

  We had a great time at this beautiful cottage; plenty of room for the 4 of us; beautiful decor and plenty of towels; we were so close to the beach access which is so private and we took long walks mornings and evenings. At the cottage every possible need was addressed from the full stocked kitchen with lots of pot and pans,dishes and everything else needed to prepare meals, we also used the outodoor patio with a great barbeque and seating area under a canopy of flower vines and well lit at night. We are so happy that the weather was perfect since we were in town for the Ventura Garden Show on Saturday morning and at night we went to The Harbor Comedy Club but honestly we could just had stayed at the cottage and go to the beach for a perfect getaway. The owner is extremely easy to deal with and she answers any questions or concerns and make feel reassured that you are going to love the property even before getting there; this time we were only 4 of us but it could easy acommodate 6 since there is a 3rd room that it's private bedroom once you close the beautiful folding doors (this 3rd bedroom has a comfortable sofa bed and a tv with a desk, a nice chair with a reading lamp and a huge built-in storage area) in our case we opened the folding doors and enjoyed this area as a large master suite seating room; the tv in the living room is inside a cabinet and the sofa unit there is large and comfortable, there is a dining table with seating for four to enjoy those home cooked meals; we are already booking another weekend since we feel that this time we will stay in as much as possible and don't forget that you also will have access to the washer and dryer which is very handy after those trips to the beach. Thank you Ellen for letting us enjoy this beatiful property!

  I rented this wonderful little place for 2 weeks last summer and 4 weeks this summer. It's on a quiet street which we loved, and it was within walking distance of so many things that we enjoyed - morning coffee shops, a park (with yoga at 7 am), fun restaurants, grocery store and, of course, the beach. We rode bicycles to the pier and the harbor multiple times...even rode them to Main Street which is downtown Ventura. The cool breezes made for restful sleep as we left the screened windows open almost 24/7. Our dog was very happy in this special cottage. Can't think of a better way to spend vacation...I miss it already and have only been home a few days...

  Our small wedding party stayed here for the weekend, and it's hard to not repeat everything from the other reviews. The owner is extremely responsive and accommodating; the house is clean, well kept, and close to the beach; the rental is warm and homey. If you have children, this is an excellent place with plenty of room, boogie boards, and a few bikes in the garage. If you're a grown-up, you'll enjoy the spacious back patio that lights up well at night, complete with propane heater. But most of all, you're going to enjoy that extremely short walk to the beach. I couldn't recommend this place more -- pick it up if you can, as it's a steal at this price. Thanks so much!

  I really don’t have much to add to my previous review, except to emphasize how easy it is to deal with the owner and how pleasant and accommodating she is: extremely responsive to calls and emails; none of the hassles and adversary feeling you get with some management companies. Don’t underestimate how important a good landlord/tenant relationship is. One more small point: the back and side garden, at least in summer, is far more bright, colorful and flower-filled than the photo in the ad. It is meticulously maintained by a gardener/handyman who is only a call away should you need some help with the house or have any questions. This Nantucket Cottage just has a real peaceful, positive energy about it. You can't go wrong renting it. (I'm a long time Ventura resident who has been working in Russia for some years).

  My wife and I stayed in this vacation rental four almost a month and absolutely loved it. First, let me say that the owner was a pleasure to deal with—responsive, helpful, flexible, and friendly. As for the house, it is decorated and maintained to perfection. Those not familiar with Ventura need to be aware that some of the older “beach cottages” in this area can be ill-maintained and even moldy. Not this one! It seems like it is brand new! Everything clean and fresh! And the bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The place is stocked with everything you could possibly need—tons of fresh towels, linens, kitchenware, coffee grinder, iron…whatever you can think of, it’s there. The back patio area is surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers, and there’s a barbecue ready for use. The lane is quiet and peaceful and you are only four houses from one of the nicest beaches in California! I can’t recommend it highly enough.

  We have rented this house four times now and are still coming back for more! We rent it for at least one month at a time. The house is nicely decorated with delightful nautical accents, beautiful hardwood floors and windows everywhere, letting in natural light and cool ocean breezes. It features quality furnishings and fixtures, and is equipped with just about anything one might want. We love the flow of the rooms, the easy-to-use kitchen area, the quiet,comfortable bedrooms. And it is so close to the beach--just four doors away! There are beach chairs and bikes in the garage. This Pierpont area is close to everything and very bike- and walking-friendly. We ride to the Ventura Harbor Village to eat and shop.....or down to the Ventura Pier for lunch at Eric Ericsson's. There's a Von's and Starbucks nearby.....and the best little donut shop where the locals hang out and dissect the latest happenings in this beach community. It's just a short drive downtown and elsewhere in Ventura. We have gone horseback riding, kayaking and enjoyed the sidewalk sales and art festivals! This is our favorite place away from home!
