The Loft is 1 of 2 units (duplex) in a private, residential neighborhood. Situated on the 2nd story, the Loft has many amenities which include private entrance, private balcony, wood fireplace, cable TV, free local phone service, wireless internet access, off-street parking, washer, dryer and dishwasher. You don’t have to go downtown to experience Anchorage. Enjoy the restaurants locals love! There are several excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. Choose from organic, eclectic, ethnic or traditional American cuisine. Live music venues and excellent shopping opportunities are also available within easy walking distance. Our recommendations and directions available at check-in.
Love the great outdoors? Getting out couldn't be easier! We have 7 bicycles available. Access to Chester Creek Trail is just ½ block down the street. Cross Chester Creek via the foot bridge, turn left (west) to enjoy the 1/2 mile walk to Westchester Lagoon where Chester Creek Trail meets the Coastal Trail. Once on the Coastal Trail, you may choose to go left to Kincaid Park (9 miles) or right to downtown Anchorage (1 mile). Or turn right (east) on Chester Creek Trail and enjoy the stroll to Mulcahy Stadium and excellent amateur baseball. Bike, hike, stroll, run or roller blade, whatever your preferred mode of transportation, our urban trail system is a rural gem in urban Alaska.
And Anchorage is as much fun in the winter as the summer. As soon as the ice is thick enough, Westchester Lagoon is groomed for ice skating and Chester Creek Trail, the Coastal Trail and Kincaid Park all feature miles and miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. In February, we celebrate Fur Rendezvous and in March, the Iditarod. Escape the crowds and visit Alaska in the wintertime!

Why the Owner Chose Anchorage
We bought our duplex in November of 2004 because we love this neighborhood. When our renters bought their own home, we decided to update and furnish the apartment and Chester Creek Loft Vacation Rental was born. We've been providing lodging in Anchorage since September of 2005.
The Unique Benefits at this Duplex
Chester Creek Loft isn't fancy, but it is very clean, comfortable and convenient. It really is a "home-away-from-home."
Chester Creek Trail is part of our urban trail system. The trail is a short walk from the Loft--just a 1/2 block down the street, you cross a foot bridge over Chester Creek and you are on the trail.
Construction of the new salmon run is just about complete and we should see silver salmon swimming up Chester Creek from Cook Inlet to Westchester Lagoon this summer.
Exactly what an urban park is supposed to be, Valley of the Moon Park is fully utilized all summer long.
Just a short walk across Valley of the Moon Park, you can pick up E Street and enjoy a leisurely walk right into the middle of downtown.
The Spenard Road shopping and entertainment district is a short walk in the other direction (opposite downtown). There are restaurants, bars, stores and more all along Spenard from Fireweed to Benson
Owner's Map of Anchorage
Hi! My name is Mary Peterburs. I am a teacher at West Anchorage High School. I teach Textiles (sewing, knitting, weaving, crochet), Costume Design, Interior Design and Technical Writing. My husband, Mark and I have 2 dogs. Hook is a two-year-old yellow lab and Molly is a 10-month-old black lab. Both are very friendly. We enjoy jogging, bicycling, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and just about any outdoor activity. This is a picture of Mark and me hiking Pioneer Peak on a beautiful fall afternoon.
