Why the Owner Chose Manuel Antonio
We bought Casa Sarita to live in while conducting business at Hotel Byblos Resort and Casino which we also are part owners in. The house is a five minute walk from the hotel, so it seemed the perfect place to buy and Sari fell in love with it the first time she saw it. The beach is so close we can hear the waves from our upstairs bedroom, and we have lots of monkeys visiting us almost every day. As animal lovers who leave dogs behind in the U.S., the wildlife at our home fills that void.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Casa Sarita is an ocean view home and is within walking distance of all the great restaurants in the Manuel Antonio area. Sari also likes that Spa Uno is a 5 minute walk from the house! With Hotel Byblos Resort and Casino just a short walk away, we have the benefit of a full hotel staff to help with any issues that arise at the house - such as messy monkeys! The best pizza in town can be picked up at the hotel after a day of fishing or a quick lunch before an afternoon at the beach or a tour.
Owner's Map of Manuel Antonio
We are local Manuel Antonio business owners who split our time living in Austin, Texas and Manuel Antonio Costa Rica. We are empty nesters who enjoy travel and working at our hotel in Manuel Antonio. We are grandparents and dog owners which is why we travel back and forth between the U.S. and Costa Rica.

Our family of 14 just got back from a one week stay at Casa Sarita in Manuel Antonio. The house was immaculate and the maid service wonderful. Really neat stone showers. The location was perfect. We walked everywhere and had delicious food. Many good restaurants to pick from. Everyone was super friendly. We had five days of activities which the Byblos hotel organized for us which included horseback riding, jet skiing, snorkeling, sailing, rainforest, National Park tour, surfing, wood factory, and everyone's favorite the Titi Canopy zip line. We saw lots of monkeys from the balcony while reading in the hammock and it felt like we were living in a National Geographic movie. The tour guides were so knowledgeable and we learned so much about the area. The breakfasts at the Byblos were great every morning and the coffee outstanding ~ just like the staff!
Owner response:We are so pleased when we hear our guests enjoyed themselves. One of the great perks of renting Casa Sarita is the staff of Byblos Resort is included for free! With Hotel Byblos being a short walk from the house, a great breakfast and a helpful reception staff are right there. As owners of the hotel, our guests enjoy this added feature with the rental of Casa Sarita.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

We LOVED Casa Sarita!! Everything is within walking distance or a short (an inexpensive) bus ride. Manual Antonio park, Spas, awesome restaurants, souveniers, night life at the Byblos....it was awesome! Everyone at the Byblos Casino treated us like royalty. We loved having all the amenities of the hotel including Melissa who booked all of our excursions but yet having the privacy of Casa Sarita with the pool and kitchen. We were fortunate and met the owners Sari & Davis while we were there and loved getting to know them over dinner. We have told all of our friends this was one of our favorite get aways ever (and we travel the world) and will definitely be back!! Thanks for everything and PURA VIDA!! Cheryl, Smith & the rest of the crew
Owner response:Dinner with this group was definitely a highlight of 2011! We look forward to your return as we haven't had another culinary genius invite us over. Thank you and come back soon!

Casa sarita was perfect for us! The villa was everything we expeced and more. It was extremely clean and well maintained. The fact that Casa Sarita was associated with the Byblos hotel really gave us the best of both worlds. We were able to take advantage of the hotel amenities, restaurants, pool, bar and guest services which made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. I would recommend Casa Sarita to anyone looking for a great vacation in Manuel Antonio
Owner response:Davis and I are so happy you enjoyed your stay at Casa Sarita. The entire Byblos Family looks forward to seeing you again!

Family of 8 stayed here for a week. We loved our visit to Manuel Antonio and our stay at Casa Sarita was lovely. The house is set in a lush location with great distant ocean views and lots of monkey visitors everyday! The house easily accommodated our group and was comfortable and very clean. The pool is on the smaller side, but perfect to dip in after a long day of exploring. The kitchen is fully furnished and we felt right at home, evening cooking our own dinner one night and using the grill Casa Sarita is a great central location to get to nearby restaurants, hop on a bus to the beach, or head to Quepos. We were lucky enough to have our stay overlap with owners' time in Costa Rica and they were very friendly and immensely helpful- as is Melissa at the front desk of Hotel Byblos! They help to answer your evey question and get any excursions set up, hassle-free. We all would love to stay here again and were so glad we got to visit! (I would only mention that the house is down quite a steep hill if you're traveling with anyone older or maybe with any knee problems, but by the end of our stay, we conquered the hill!)Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!
Owner response:We always enjoy getting to meet our guests at Casa Sarita. We do love having Melissa and the rest of the Reception Team at Hotel Byblos to care for our guests when we are not available. Our guests do seem to be a little fitter after walking up the hill to Hotel Byblos for breakfast, or to use the larger pool. Thank you for coming, and please do come back! Sari & Davis

This was our second trip to Quepos/Manuel Antonio and stayed at Hotel Byblos and Casa Sarita. Both accommodations were just amazing!! The bungalows are beautifully done and gives the feeling of your own little getaway. Casa Sarita is a gorgeous five bedroom three bath house that is spacious and comfortable. Loved sitting on the third floor balcony watching the monkeys spring from tree to tree to waking up to the howler monkeys. Sari and Davis, the owners of Casa Sarita and the hotel are so welcoming and so personable. We loved sitting down at the restaurant by the pool and enjoying their company at our table. Anything we wanted to do or had questions they were just a wealth of information as was their staff to setting up our tours to making sure our stay at their beautiful Casa Sarita home had everything we needed for our comfort. The staff at the hotel are so friendly and accommodating. The area is gorgeous and loved the visiting monkeys and all the wildlife this beautiful and magical piece of heaven on earth has to offer. I would recommend the hotel and Casa Sarita without hesitation to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing getaway to anyone that wants an adventure of a lifetime. Go and enjoy all this beautiful place has to offer. I promise you will not be disappointed. You will return again and again. Thanks again Sari and Davis... Pura Vida!!!! Kristi and Jim Montana

We stayed at Casa Sarita just after New Year 2010. It was better than our high expectations. Our party of nine pax enjoyed the amazing interior design and the tranquility at the Casa. The upper balcony was super for after beach yoga with a nice Gin&Tonic in our hands. The owner was very helpful to help arrange fishing trips and jungle-hiking. The breakfast was served at the closed Byblos Hotel. Nice restaurant with the best pizzas in the whole Manuel Antonio. Bosse, Sweden

Casa Sarita was a perfect choice for our family reunion of 3 familes (10 people with 4 children aged 4 - 10). From the start of selecting the home the owners were incredibly responsive and proved to be a great point of contact to answer all our questions and provide us valuable information prior to hitting the ground. The house has a great hillside location with a beautiful view of the ocean from the upper deck and is surrounded by trees. This is important if you like monkeys as we were visited on a daily basis by howler, capuchin and titi monkeys which were one of the highlights for us and the children, and made for great photo opportunities. We even had a sloth visit one day in a tree above the house. The howlers are nicknamed the Costa Rica Rooster because they can start howling and waking up at 4 am. It might sound early but with the earlier sunsets while we were there (time of year) we enjoyed it and it was a unique experience. The house is very comfortable and provided all the amenities to make us feel at home. One surprise benefit was that the local grocery store delivered for only $1 and we certainly used that service several times. Beaches are a short drive away and were great with gentle slopes. Lots of waves are also available for surfers and tours can easily be arranged through Hotel Byblos which is affiliated with Casa Sarita and is only a short walk away up the hill. All the tours we went on were superb and we recommend them all. The children had a great time on the Canopy Safari, the spice tour was interesting and informative, the surfing lessons were great and the tour of Manuel Antonio park with the guide was amazing. Note: go with a guide, otherwise you will miss 90% of what is out there. There is also a butterfly and reptile exhibit next to the hotel which is worth the visit. We flew into San Jose and rented 3 small Daihatsu Bego 4X4's and would recommend this for other families as well. The drive from San Jose to Manuel Antonio is slow with 25 - 50 mph speed limits and takes 3 hours or more depending on the number of stops. The roads are not that bad. Just watch your speed and take your time because local police have many road checks alopng the wat in and around the towns you go through. It is worth it as the countryside is beautiful and gives you the opportunity to make other day trips or just do some local exploring and getting to some other beaches off the main path. Enjoy your trip to Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

Casa Sarita is such a special place to stay in Manuel Antonio. This beautifully decorated home is very private, at the end of the street, overlooking the ocean. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or large group. We woke up each morning to the sounds of monkeys, and had the ultimate Costa Rican experience. The owners, Sari and Davis Henley, also run the Byblos hotel, within walking distance. The hotel staff was so helpful with planning activities in the area and also provided daily maid service at the house. We really enjoyed staying at Casa Sarita and so will you!

We stayed at the property in September 2007 for a week and absolutely loved the house and Manuel Antonio. The house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. Rock showers are a treat and the towels are wrapped as animals and decorated with flowers - very cool. Very nice views from the balcony and hammock. Exactly what you would want when thinking of a luxury house in Costa Rica. Lots of fun things to do neaby - very easy to coordinate through Byblos Hotel. Friendly staff. Lots of fun things to do in the area - beach, surfing, hiking, rafting, etc. All in all, a wonderful experience.
