Celestun is in a biosphere reserve and is home to a large American Flamingo colony plus 300 other species of birds. It is an easy drive to the colonial city of Merida and the Mayan ruins of UXMAL. If you choose not to rent a car, local bus and bicycle taxi service is available.

Extra guests can sleep the traditional Yucatan way in the locally made hammocks.
