Hi Larry, I just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed our time at Buffalo Lodge. The kids had a ball using the canoe and trying to catch some fish. Our younger grandchildren made friends with children in the cabin next door and kept quiet busy exploring and playing. The house was lovely and we were all very comfortable. The house accommodated the ten of us with no problems what so ever. We enjoyed going into the park each night to watch the elk and even saw 8 moose during our stay. I think we followed all instructions and hope you found that everything was in order when we left. We started the linens and towels, ran the dishwasher and took all trash to the dumpster. As far as we know, everything was left in good conditions. We did take some wood scraps that were under the porch and stack them to make a short, level, extra step to make it easier for me to access the step at the front porch. My husband was worried that I would fall because my 20 year old grandson had turned his ankle stepping down at that location because it was a bit uneven. Once they fashioned the little step I was able to manage getting onto the porch (with the aid of my walker) much easier. However, when we were half way up Trail Ridge on our way to Denver we realized that we had not disassembled the step and put the wood back under the porch where we found it. I hope this was not a problem. We just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our stay. The house was lovely, the location was beautiful, and we all had a grand time. The grandchildren (4, 8, 9, 19, & 20) loved their adventures in the mountains and on the lake. The grand end of the trip was that they got to have a snow ball fight and build a snow man when we were up on Trail Ridge ...... this was quiet a thrill for Texans! It was hard to believe that two days later we arrived back in Texas to temperature over 100 degrees. We all wanted to turn around and head back to beautiful Colorado. I hope you found everything in order. Annette Novominsky

Just a little note to Thank You for letting us rent the Buffalo Lodge. It was perfect for the family and everyone had a lot of fun. Having the canoe and the fishing pond right there was great. seeing the wildlife added to the vacation. We hope to come back sometime soon.

    • Our recent stay at Buffalo Lodge exceded our expectations. While searching for the cabin, we encountered a cow moose with two calves. The cabin was great, plenty of room and just a few steps from the lake. The fishing on the lake was great, tons of rainbow trout, and plenty of room to kayak and canoe. Rocky Mountain National Park was just down the road, and Arapaho National Forest about a half-mile away. During our stay we encountered numerous wildlife: moose, elk, mule deer and more. The scenery of the area is amazing and very peaceful. We look foward to possibly staying here again in the future.
