This beautiful house deserved five stars because its decoration and convenient location. It's close to the mall, restaurants and air port. The owner family are very nice people. The only problem is the neighbor on the east side of the house. One night they played loud music till am. Otherwise we enjoyed four days stay in this house. Thank you, Joshua, Richard and Becky!

New Neighbors are noisy!

The home is as pictured, and is clean and well-appointed. However, there is some foundation work that is scheduled to occur after the holidays, to correct what is a major ceiling crack, at least 1/2 inch wide, through the entire living area. This will probably not affect your stay, but the new neighbors will. They are a house full of college students who started a party outside our bedroom windows in the driveway and back yard late in the evening and did not stop until 2am or later. The first night, only one of our group had arrived, and we thought it might have been an isolated event. On our second night, we called the police due to the door-slamming, foul language, loud music, etc. They came and broke it up, but it resumed again shortly thereafter. Rather than risk a confrontation with a large group of drunk students, we vacated the property after night two. I am sorry to have to post this review, because I do not think that these homeowners deserve the circumstances they are in, without control over who is renting the neighboring home. We did not call them in the middle of the night because we did not want to disrupt their family, and the police had already failed to control the situation. They were gracious in refunding our money due to our inconvenience and bad experience, after validating with other neighbors that our circumstances were not exaggerated. If the neighbor situation changes, I could give the property 5 stars as so many others have previously. But with the new neighbors who moved in just at the beginning of this school semester, this is no longer a quiet residential home as currently advertised. You cannot currently be guaranteed any rest here, unless you sleep during the day, and it would not be fair to others who have an expectation of a quiet stay to not be truthful about and share our experience. The property owners are good people in a bad situation, and I hope that they are successful in applying pressure to the other landlord to rent to quieter people.

In the 5 1/2 years that we have operated this home as a vacation home, the vast majority of the time the neighborhood has been peaceful as our many good reviews demonstrate. Family friendly with the comforts of home

This clean and comfortable home is in a great location. The owners are very helpful and friendly. We rented this home to provide a visit with my daughter stationed at Fort Sam Houston. She was able to have some of her friends spend time at the home for a barbeque. They baked and cooked all Saturday taking grilled food and goodies back to the dorm. This home was perfect for gathering, relaxing, and sharing a meal. Everything that you could reasonably expect to need was in the home. We purchased staples such as baking flour, eggs, butter, etc. However, baking soda, salt, pepper, spices, paper products were found in the kitchen. The bathrooms had Q-tips etc. So check out what is in the home before you purchase items. I did not have my 15 month grandson with me this trip; however, it would be safe and all necessary equipment including little silverware and toddler cups is available for you! You can walk to Walmart (24 hrs) with grocery store and McDonalds. Most thought out amenties out of 4 homes I have previously rented. You can rent this home with confidence that you are choosing a great experience. Arrive and relax.

Best Vacation Ever

Best Vacation Ever! My husband and I took our three grown children, their spouses, and our two toddler grandchildren to San Antonio for a family vacation. We looked at many possibilities on the internet and decided on this house because they communicated well with us (quick to respond to our calls and emails) and because the reviews were good. We just had a good feeling about this property. The description of the property was as stated. The house was an older modest house which was immaculately clean. It had all the important features we were looking for: a fenced yard; washer/dryer; and a large table all ten of us could all gather around. This was much better than being crammed in a small hotel room! We didn’t stay much at the house during the day because we were trying to pack in Sea World, River Walk, Zoo, etc. Richard and son Joshsua waited FOREVER for us at the gates of the zoo so we could get in free as their guests (zoo parking was literally a “zoo” that day and It took us nearly an hour to find a parking spot). The family was available for us and seemed to be at our beck and call. Sea World was amazing, and we hope to return in a couple of years (beach for next summer!) My family stayed at the Smith's house for a basic training graduation at Lackland AFB. The house was so clean, so comfortableand very spaceous. It felt just like home. I've used homeaway.com many times and this is one of the best experiences I've had. The Smiths are so nice and sooo accomodating. They were even flexible on our dates at the last minute. The back yard is private and it's in a nice quiet neighborhood conveniently located to shopping, dining and main roads. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. I would definately stay there again if we're ever in San Antonio again. I would also recommend to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, private, spacious rental.

Wonderful Home Away From Home

This home was wonderful. It is very spacious with a very open floor plan. We found the neighborhood easy to get in and out of with nearly every kind of shopping close by, but yet the neighborhood was very quite. We had a great time in San Antonio thanks to having such a nice home to come back to. The house is very well furnished,complete with a bbq which we used when entertaining my niece and her family whom are stationed at Lackland. we all loved that visit since we don't see much of them. We took in Six Flags, The Water Walk, and toured The Alamo (my favorite..love history). My regret is we didn't have time to use the tickets for all the attractions the Smith family recommended, due to the varying times of my daughters competitions.She did take a 2nd.and a 3rd in her Junior Olympic National Championships. That makes it all worth while, so I guess we will save the rest of the San Antonio attractions for our next visit< and i hope we will be able to book Richard and Becky's wonder home again. Richard and Becky were wonderful to our family. One of our family members' flight from New York was changed/diverted due to stormy weather forcing him to actually arrive in Austin in the middle of the night before we were to arrive in San Antonio the next day. They offered and did open up their home (way ahead of our scheduled arrival) to accommodate him and his parents who were forced out of town early to pick him up. They even suggested a great local mexican food restaurant (which also lived up to their recommendations) for them to go to and relax while they finished getting the home ready(again hours ahead of the agreed arrival time). The Stockton address home was clean - floors sparkling and the oversized dining table was fabulous for the whole family to gather around. Everyone spent time reading the newspaper or a book from their library, drinking coffee or playing one of the many games, also found in their bookcase. Refrigerator and cabinets were well stocked and all basic appliances were working plus many more were available from popcorn makers, blenders to food processors. The furniture/beds were extremely comfortable along with the wonderfully decorated rooms. Hot showers for 8 people - morning, noon and night - with plenty of bath towels, linens available. The back patio was very nice with a small BBQ grill, tether ball and ropes for children to swing from under the shade of a huge tree. Table and chairs also on the patio, but we didn't last long with the traditional Texas summer heat and mosquito's at dusk. Neighborhood extremely quiet and safe. Location was fabulous too with options of Loop 410/Hwy. 281 and I-35 easily accessible along with the airport. Walmart practically at the end of the street and a great mall nearby. Our family would highly recommend this home for your family during a visit to the great city of San Antonio, TX. Great value for the price and again, you can't go wrong with host Richard/Becky who obviously care greatly about your comfort and are available 24/7 should you need them. Absolutely, no complaints at all.

Great Place to Stay!!!

We spent 7 days here for our winter get away. The house has everything anyone could ever need away from home. The location was great for anyone flying into the city, or just getting around as freeways are close. The house was described and just as we expected, it was clean and well maintained. The Smith's met us the day we arrived and helped us with any questions we may have had. Thanks so much for taking us to the zoo as our kids loved it and the train. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away and have all the amenities of home. Thanks for the great place to stay!! We look forward to coming again some day and will recommend this place to all of our friends!

Exceptional Vacation Home!!!

This was our first vacation rental by owner and we would definitely stay here again. We were in San Antonio to attend my son's graduation from Lackland's Air Force basic military training. We brought two sets of grandparents and our 15 year old daughter. Sleeping accomodations were perfect and very comfortable. The house was exceptionally clean and had all the comforts of home. Kitchen was awesome. We were able to prepare our own meals and everyone was able to sit around the huge dining room table and visit with my son. This home has a beautiful backyard and patio. Ideal for anyone with small kids. Neighborhood was quiet and we felt very safe. This home surpassed our expectations and made the time with our son even more special. Thank you to Richard and Becky!!

Good Morning, Becky, Richard & Family. Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed your house in San Antonio. The back yard was PERFECT for Sam, he just opened the door and enjoyed everything out there. We didn't have to worry about him getting away from us as any 2 year old tends to do. :O) The location was so convenient to the downtown tourist stuff and the Walmart just 2 blocks away was again perfect. We all left 75 degrees and sunshine to come home to 48 degrees and rain. The next morning we woke up to 3 inches of snow. Ah, Ohio in the winter. Please feel free to use this letter as a testimony for your house. Again, thank you for your kindness and attention to our every need. WONDERFUL HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!

What a welcome sight the home on Stockton was to our family after a very long trip, with the soft glow of the lamps and the beautiful wreath on the front door, just beckoning us to come in, kick off our shoes, and settle in for the evening. Even though it was fairly late, the Smith family cheerfully met us there with some items they had just purchased to make our stay even more enjoyable, like a wonderful pumpkin candle, a gallon of spring water, and extra laundry detergent for our large family. All throughout our stay, Richard and Becky were very helpful, even when we encountered a couple of minor problems like locking ourselves out of the house late one evening (sorry Smiths!). The children especially enjoyed the toys and games both in the house and in the delightful backyard and patio area, where they could run and play after a long day of sightseeing or conferences. The unique riding toys, the swinging ropes hanging from the trees, and the four-squares painted on the patio were just the icing on the cake. Inside, there was plenty of space for our family of 12, and no one even had to sleep on the floor. We appreciated the stocked pantry, the amply supplied laundry area, the open floor plan, and the extra large dining room table which we could all sit around as we enjoyed our meals! This home is tastefully decorated, clean, and is in a very convenient location to all the nearby attractions. If we're ever in the San Antonio area again, we would definitely want to stay in this delightful home. It is so much better than even the nicest hotels! It just felt like our wonderful "home away from home!"

We had the privilege of staying at this wonderful home for 5 nights. We were greeted by the family and given a very thorough tour of the home. There were a few things that came up on the trip, and Becky was extremely helpful in accomodating our needs. She was even kind of enough to lead us to the Botanical Garden and show us around a little, while also allowing us to use her guest passes. The home was perfect. We have little ones, and the backyard was perfect. They could play out back and we could keep an eye on them through the kitchen. There was so much for them to do....plenty of toys, swings, tether ball, and even toddler bikes and trikes. We would definitely stay here, if given the opportunity again. Richard, Becky and there family do an amazing job in communicating and making sure their guest are as comfy as possible. Thanks for making our trip so enjoyable! It really felt like home away from home.

This was our first home away rental and we were very pleased with the experience. Our family was grandma (67) grandpa (69), mom (39) grandchildren (12) (5). This home provided plenty of space for privacy...sleeping was perfect with larger bath for mom and grandkids with a separation door to their rooms and bath. Master was just right for grandparents with its own bath. All play equipment in backyard was big hit with grandchildren as well as furnished patio with mom for smoking needs. Discovered some lizzards, birdwatched, saw a snake (size of pencil) and greatly enjoyed the shade and birdsongs in backyard. Landlord was very friendly and helpful. Property very clean and charmingly decorated and well maintained. Can't think of a single need which was not met..(maybe a second tv for age span interests). We visited sea world for two days, river walk one day and botanical gardn one day. All were great! We ate at the house and at Olive Garden close by and at Casa Rio when riding river boat. Food was terrific. Took the newer longer route on river boat ride and went through lock...enjoyed this. Home was filled with wholesome and family friendly books, videos, cds, toys and games. We used the washer/dryer. Appreciated all the detergents, etc. being there for us. Kitchen was supplied with bottles of water and soda as well as condiments and spices and cleaning supplies. Only addition we can think of would be a tv guide to help us find our favoites on different channel numbers than at home. Landlord even drove with us following to Botanical Garden and used her pass to give us free admission. Felt like we made new friends and were treated like family. Whole experience was a blessing and we pray God's blessing on this sweet family. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone for its perfect location and charm. Our 19-year old granddaughter was encouraged to rent this property with some friends because we trust the area and the landlords to treat her well and protect her.

Family Visit to San Antonio

Including my wife and myself, I took my family to SA for a family reunion and to attend the rodeo. Our enterouge consisted of three daughters, two sons-in-law, and two grandsons, ages 2 1/2 and 13. The home was exactly as listed in every way. It was immaculately clean and maintained. The location was perfect. Only minutes to the airport and main roads, which allowed quick access to anywhere in SA. When not sight-seeing or visiting family the grandsons both had something to keep them occupied The management and maintenance of the home is a family affair. They went out of their way to ensure every aspect of the rental process and our stay was teken care of in a professional and friendly manner. We would most assuredly rent this property again and will recommend to friendsa and family. -+

This home is exceptionally clean and well stocked. The owners are kind, considerate, hospitable people who went out of their way to meet our needs. It was nice to be able to sit out on the patio. The location of the house is great. We were able to find everything we needed from the notebook you put together. The washer and dryer came in handy. Richard and Becky, We had such a wonderful time at your beautiful home. It has such a warm and loving atmosphere. We appreciated all of the toys and the swing set was a hit. We spent a lot of time in the back yard and the house was great at holding several family members. The location was perfect and was close to Sea World and right around the corner from the zoo. I am very pleased to say that my experience with this property has been wonderful! I had a gathering here for a special occasion in May and it was perfect for a group of adults and children. The large open kitchen and huge dining area were enjoyed by all. The kids had a great time in the shady back yard which has lots of play equipment and a lovely patio. The whole house is comfortable and well decorated. Everything is clean and in order, and best of all, close to all the fun places in San Antonio. We had a great time!

I threw a big birthday party at this wonderful spacious home and was very pleased! This home has a big open dinning area and fully stocked kitchen with everything you need. The children had a blast outside in the shady yard with all sorts of play equipment for kids. This home is cute and clean with comfortable bedrooms. I highly recommend it for any visitor to San Antonio. Its close to everything you will want to see!

Richard and Becky, We had a phenomenal stay at your home. Once we were inside, we immediately felt right at home it was very comfortable. We loved staying in San Antonio and being so close to all the things we had on our agenda to see. The kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. Becky your home was clean and inviting, your kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you so much for all your thoughtfulness and efforts. You really helped make it a very special family vacation especially since my husband will be deploying again soon. We appreciated all the details you thought of in making our stay enjoyable...like, the information binder with the maps and information packets to tourist attractions around the area and all the games and toys for my kids. My kids especially had a great time and really enjoyed the backyard. Your home was very child friendly. We will definitely reserve the use of your home for future visits to San Antonio.
