I'm so sorry that we didn't sign the guest book before we left The Guest House but we wanted at the very least to share our experience with people via this forum. A temporary job in Orange Beach took us to The Guest House on Ono Island in September of 2010. It remained our home until November 3rd, 2011. Living there for that amount of time was truly a wonderful, unforgettable time for us. When we moved in we had no idea how long our stay would be but Doug and Donna Silsbee were very accomodating. If you stay at The Guest House expect to catch fish...everything from Flounder and White Trout to Catfish, Croakers and lots of Pinfish. But be forwarned that Harriet the Heron will be on the dock with you and she expects you to share your catch with her. (It's best to toss the fish on the lawn for her to eat there.) You'll be greeted at dusk and dawn by a magnificent pair of Great Horned Owls who prefer perching in a dead tree across the canal. We've watched herons build their nests and take care of their noisy little ones. We've seen Ospreys carry fish and an occasional snake in their tallons to their nests. Our Golden Retriever Chloe grew up at The Guest House, learning to swim in the canal and chase Harriet away from the dock. We've enjoyed countless quiet mornings on the dock with a cup of coffee and evenings on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the sun set. Plus Ono Island is so very close to the public beaches at the Gulf of Mexico as well as plenty of fantastic restaurants. We had an unforgettable adventure living at the Guest House. What a wonderful vacation home. Just what a family needs. All the conveniences' of home and then some. We enjoyed our week's stay in this very private location. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Very nice house on a beautiful water front lot.......nice dockage with a view......gated community is always a plus....spacious house with all living accomodations in place....lots to do in the Orange Beach area...

Great view along with a beautiful house. Really nice dockage just off the back porch. Plenty of rooms and living accomadations in the house. Very nice gated island coummunity.

We have enjoyed several stays at this wonderful condo on the beautiful Ono Island. It's clean, the beds are very comfortable, gorgeous view, great decks to sit out and enjoy your morning cup of coffee, good location, convenient to grocery stores, the beach, etc. We highly recommend staying here...and if you do..you will keep coming back..like we do. This place ROCKS! Steve Williams here, one of the writer's of the song, "Redneck Yacht Club". I've stayed here on several occasions and LOVE this place! It's incredibly roomy, comfortable and furnished with great pieces. The wrap around decks on two levels overlook the water are perfect for pulling up a chair, drinking your morning coffee and watching the many cranes and pelicans that perch themselves around the dock below. The island is so peaceful and private and after a long day on the beach, I can't think of a better place to relax. The three levels this condo offers is also a plus. It's nice to know you can play music, games or watch TV without disturbing someone sleeping upstairs. I can't think of a thing missing from this rental. I hope I get to stay here every time I make it down for a show. It's definitely "4 Star"!

This is such an awesome house! Plenty of room, so homey! Love, love, love the atmosphere, especially the pier and lower deck with rocking chairs. The wildlife is unbelievable, egrets make themselves at home! Hope to be back next year. Thank you to the Silsbee's for creating such a wonderful home.

We have visited this home several times -- it is always relaxing and enjoyable. Home was just recently redecorated and is absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful, peaceful, paradise. Early morning bike rides along neighborhood streets is very soothing and unwinding. Lots of room for spreading out and enjoying scenery on the decks. Wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else when we go to Orange Beach area.

We book Nashville hit songwriters to perform at Home Concerts. This home on Heron Ct. has been the best lodging situation for the songwriters. It provides plenty of room and privacy and they cannot say enough good things about the atmosphere it provides to enhance their songwriting creativity. The boat docks have turned out to be incredibly useful since so many folks want to take them fishing or to restaurants and bars that are easy to get to by boat. We will definitely be reserving this great place again...and again.

We book hit songwriters into the area to perform at Home Concerts and this has been the most ideal place for them to stay. It allowed privacy and convenience for all concerned. The feedback we got from our songwriters was that it was great not only for their convenience and comfort but also for their creativity. The furnishings and the view are totally understated in the description of this amazing place. We will be using it again.
