  We were delighted with our month long off season rental choice of this unit in the Pelican Beach Resort. We enjoyed unseasonably warm weather from mid January to mid February. Not a day did we miss either a long walk on the beautiful white beach or a swim in one of the two heated pools. The Pelican Beach Resort is well maintained. My husband made regular use of the exercise room. Destin was a perfect location for day trips to visit Pensacola's historic area and its Naval Aviation Museum, and to Mobile Alabama. We made an overnight visit to New Orleans. We easily explored nearby St. Augustine on our return home. We found the unit immaculate. While the livingroom soft furnishings are past their prime, they appeared clean. We found the bedroom bed comfortable. The kitchen was better equipped than I needed for a month long holiday. The stove and dish washer appeared newer than the fridge, but all clean appliances worked perfectly. I used the washer and dryer down the hall and never had to wait for a turn. But the building was not fully occupied. From the unit we easily walked to several restaurants and a few box stores for groceries. As others have stated it's the corner view of the ocean which makes this a great rental. Our emails were promptly answered before, during and after our stay. It proved to be a great escape from the northern winter.

  June 2010 The condo was just as described, very clean and the views from the corner unit were great. The bedroom was at the opposite end of the condo from the beach so we missed being able to hear the ocean at night. Also since the bedroom window is right next to the outdoor light it made it a little hard to sleep at night because the room stayed so lit up. Being on the 10th floor was great because the views are so good, both of the beach and the coastline, as well as Destin at night. The beach was beautful and the pool area, although we didn't use it, was nice. There was live entertainment at the tiki hut beachside bar on one of the nights which was nice as well. We have been coming to Destin for years so always go back to visit our favorite haunts, AJ's, Donut Hole, Back Porch. We had a great time and look forward to coming back.

  We rented this condo for the month of March to get away from our cold weather up north! We found the unit bright, cheerful and clean. This is the first time we rented a one-bedroom unit, so at first it seemed small to us. There are two full bathrooms, which is definitely nice. There was comfortable space to sleep six people, but not a lot of extra room for their suitcases, etc. The kitchen was adequately supplied. Even though there is no washer/dryer in the unit, there is a laundry room on each floor which we used several times. The fan in the bedroom did not work when we arrived and we hated to use the A/C, so we reported it to the front desk. In a matter of a few days, a brand new fan was installed! We were quite pleased with the service we received when making such calls. After we settled in, we found that it was plenty of space for the two of us. There are MANY nice restaurants in Destin, several within walking distance. I purchased some coupons from restaurant.com (at 80% off) and enjoyed every restaurant we tried. The view from the balcony was awesome! It was very enjoyable to just sit on the balcony and watch the people on the beach and all the activity in the air over the water. We spotted dolphins several times and even some stingray. We watched the pelicans dive straight down into the water into a school of fish. We even saw a few Blue Angels fly over! Everyone at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. The building was in the process of being repainted, and all the workers were very courteous. The owner was wonderful to work with! Our emails were always answered within hours. I feel I got a fair price from this owner and would definitely rent again from her.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
