Pelican Beach Resort has more amenities than any other high-rise in Destin. It is a first class resort.
This unit is beautifully decorated. It is located on the 10th floor which is the perfect floor, not too high nor too low. Because it is a corner unit on the west end, you get the best of both views, direct gulf front from the sliding door or coastline views from the side window.
From the kitchen and the living room you enjoy a great view of the Emerald color of the Gulf of Mexico straight ahead. You can also take in the beautiful sunsets to the west from the extra window found only on corner units. The beaches in Destin are sugar white and wonderful!
Amenities at the Resort are a conference center, indoor and outdoor pools (pool heated in winter), hot tub, kiddie pool, two lit tennis courts, fitness center and weight room, sauna, steam room, outdoor grills, game room, large sun deck. There is a tiki bar, an on site deli (in summer) and outdoor dining tables.
The unit is a one bedroom, 2 full baths with bunk beds. It comfortably sleeps 6 people. There is a king size bed in the master room and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The private balcony is equipped with patio furniture and a sturdy table for romantic or casual meals overlooking the ocean. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, blender toaster, full size fridge, stove and microwave. There are two TV's (cable TV with premiums channels), two VCR's, stereo.

June 2010 The condo was just as described, very clean and the views from the corner unit were great. The bedroom was at the opposite end of the condo from the beach so we missed being able to hear the ocean at night. Also since the bedroom window is right next to the outdoor light it made it a little hard to sleep at night because the room stayed so lit up. Being on the 10th floor was great because the views are so good, both of the beach and the coastline, as well as Destin at night. The beach was beautful and the pool area, although we didn't use it, was nice. There was live entertainment at the tiki hut beachside bar on one of the nights which was nice as well. We have been coming to Destin for years so always go back to visit our favorite haunts, AJ's, Donut Hole, Back Porch. We had a great time and look forward to coming back.
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We rented this condo for the month of March to get away from our cold weather up north! We found the unit bright, cheerful and clean. This is the first time we rented a one-bedroom unit, so at first it seemed small to us. There are two full bathrooms, which is definitely nice. There was comfortable space to sleep six people, but not a lot of extra room for their suitcases, etc. The kitchen was adequately supplied. Even though there is no washer/dryer in the unit, there is a laundry room on each floor which we used several times. The fan in the bedroom did not work when we arrived and we hated to use the A/C, so we reported it to the front desk. In a matter of a few days, a brand new fan was installed! We were quite pleased with the service we received when making such calls. After we settled in, we found that it was plenty of space for the two of us. There are MANY nice restaurants in Destin, several within walking distance. I purchased some coupons from restaurant.com (at 80% off) and enjoyed every restaurant we tried. The view from the balcony was awesome! It was very enjoyable to just sit on the balcony and watch the people on the beach and all the activity in the air over the water. We spotted dolphins several times and even some stingray. We watched the pelicans dive straight down into the water into a school of fish. We even saw a few Blue Angels fly over! Everyone at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. The building was in the process of being repainted, and all the workers were very courteous. The owner was wonderful to work with! Our emails were always answered within hours. I feel I got a fair price from this owner and would definitely rent again from her.
