If you’re traveling to Ireland, Dublin is a must-see and this is the perfect home as a base for visiting the city! This very modern decorated home is elegant and beautiful with its hardwood floors, new kitchen appliances, and large flat screen TV just above the fireplace in the living room. It’s quite stylish and very comfortable.
Upon my arrival, the owners greeted me at the home and offered helpful tips of what to see around town as well as giving me an introduction to the home. They provided invaluable advice on which local buses to take, maps of Dublin and even how to use the European appliances correctly.
From the Dublin townhouse, you are just a short bus ride away from the many sites of Dublin including Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and more. This home is not only a short distance away from the excitement of downtown Dublin, but it is within walking distance to many great restaurants, pubs, and even a grocery store and movie theater right around the corner. This truly is such a fantastic home in a wonderfully convenient location.

We stayed here less than a year ago and I can't wait to go back. Looking at all the pics makes me want to be back there now! Irene and Brendan were the perfect hosts, making our stay wonderful. The home is very comfortable and is very close to the bus for easy travel to Dublin. It is also within walking distance to the Stillorgan Shopping Center and the Millhouse pub. We had a great time and look forward to coming back really soon! Erin, Amy, Lindsay and Elaine

Irene and Brendan have gone to extraordinary lengths to make this home beyond comfortable. We were there during the freak winter freeze of 2010 but the floor heating and gas fireplace kept us toasty. The kitchen is equipped with every possible hi-tech appliance and need. We even had the chance to use the washer and dryer. All of these appliances are state of the art manufactured throughout Europe. Everything was comfortable and extremely clean. Brendan was extremely attentive checking on us in our snow covered state yet never imposed into our vacation. Irene and Brendan are excellent hosts. We have found a home away from home in Ireland. We were totally amazed when we arrived at Irene and Branden's home. It fulfilled all of our expectations, actually more. The home was spotless, central to Dublin and surrounding areas, there was absolutely nothing extra we needed. Irene met us when we arrived - what a wonderful host! The livingroom and sun room looked out over the garden. Since we arrived in October it was a little cool to sit out early in the morning but it was peaceful to get out of bed, make our lattes and sit in the sun room overlooking the lavender and flowers. Irene provided all the traveling info we needed - bus schedules and fare info, tour packages, DART (train) schedules. We had no concerns jumping on the bus and going into Dublin from the time of arrival. Stillorgan had all the amenities we needed - all just around the corner. We would recommend this home to anyone - but will recommend to our friends. Should we return to Dublin, Irene and Branden's home in Stillorgan is the place we will stay. We spent a week at this terrific house. The pictures reflect the elegant and relaxing home, which was clean, well-maintained, and had many extras. The owner was available during our planning and our stay. The homeowner provided tourist suggestions, maps, bus routes, local walks and shopping information. She also had detailed information about operating household appliances. The location was great - 5 minute walk to the bus (30 min. to Dublin) and the village shops. Wednesday is the farmers market day. We were able to catch the Airport Coach bus at the end of the street. We ate at local pubs. We went into Dublin 4 days. We took the "Wild Wicklow Tour" one day and spent a day in the beautiful seaside town of Dun Laoghaire (a short bus ride away). It was easy to be car free. I would recommend this home to a friend or relative.

Thank you so much for allowing us to share your perfect home in Stillorgan. It provided us with everything we needed to explore Dublin and enjoy time with our daughter at UCD. After a busy day of touring, it was great to come home, light the fire and sleep soundly on those heavenly beds! And in the morning, what a treat to walk to the shopping center for coffee and fresh bakery. We were impressed with the first-rate furnishings and appliances and the convenience of WiFi and the ease of transportation in and out of the city. We would surely recommend Cedar House to others, especially parents who plan to visit their children at UCD.

This 2 BR 2 1/2 Bath was a delightful respite after a full day of sight seeing and work. Every need is met including full kitchen equipment if you choose to stay in and cook! Which we did, but only once! Several buses take you into City Center and also out to the south. Irene (owner) was very helpful with all the pamphlets and ideas organized in a folder for the guests. Definately take in an early meal at the Beaufield Mews..walkable and very charming. The bus to Dun Laoghaire..1euro plus 80 than take the DART to Dalkey eat at Guinea Pig The FishRestaurant (reservations rec.) They have for 40 Euro an awesome early dinner. Merryl Streep and Liam Neeson have both eaten there. The city is full of quaint shops and historical castle. Definately consider a tour..we did the Aran Islands from Dublin to Galway and flew to Aran Islands. It was an awesome 14 hours! Be sure and stop at the local Centra in Galway and grab some cheese, bread and wine for the train back. Or do the Cliffs of Moher..either one you will enjoy. St. Stephen's Green the park with the arches..we hit it right on a Thursday and there was music in the center of the park..Awesome. Jameson Distillery has a Shindig..but you must book well in advance..it sounds fun it was booked solid.so we were unable to take this in. Just go to their website and checkout the details. Seemed fairly priced for entertainment and dinner. Definately go to The Bank for lunch near the tourist info center in City Center. Dramatic ambience, good food and nice. We did our own Music Pub Crawl in Temple Bar Area. easy to do. Just follow your ears. We did this on a Sunday the day we arrived..about 3pm to 7pm it was the perfect time! It is 2Euro plus 20 to take the bus into City Center. Again there are several options 46a or 11. The 11 lets you off across from the street to your place..but the 46a is easierr to catch and is about 2 blocks from Cedar house. Be sure and go to O'Neills City Center. An awesome carving station for food. Very reasonable and fun music everynight. Enjoy your exploring! We hope to return some day!!

Irene and Brendan were truly fantastic hosts! I have stayed in several other VRBO properties, and while all were wonderful, this was the best I've stayed in yet. Irene and Brendan went the extra mile to make the stay enjoyable and easy. The accommodations were beautiful and top-notch! Getting to and from Dublin and other destinations was very convenient. I highly recommend staying at this lovely home while you visit Ireland! It is truly a treat!
