This East Lake Road location is truly a magical place. It offers the discriminating renter so much more than just a cottage on the lake. The five acre property with over 110 feet of beach, level lawns, woods and a wonderful creek to hike is a rare treat on Keuka Lake.
The beach is level and deep set, offering guests a chance to experience the most beautiful baby-fine shale in the Finger Lakes. The ‘L’ shaped dock provides space for a boat or two and has a set of stairs to make it easy to get in and out of the lake on your way to the tethered inflated float. No stay would be complete without a soul stirring bonfire to cook marshmallows over while you sip a cocktail in the cabana and watch the sun set into the folds of hills. (wood provided)
At your disposal you will have the use of the rowboat, two-person kayak, sunfish (for experienced sailors) snorkeling equipment (adult sizes) and various beach toys for kids.
The house has 3 bedrooms, plus a loft and two full bathrooms, one with a bathtub, one with a shower. It is a year round home comfortably furnished with newer pieces mixed with antiques and an eclectic art collection. The beds are excellent! (Stearns & Foster) All linen's are provided and we have plenty of extra blankets and pillows.
Bedroom one has a view of the lake, a king-sized bed and a private side deck, perfect for morning coffee on the glider love seat. Bedroom two has a wooded view, king-sized bed and a double closet. These two bedrooms share a bath and can be closed off by a pocket door to the living room to keep things quiet for those who wish sleep. Bedroom three has a wraparound view of the woods and yard and a queen-sized bed.
The antique armoire in the family room is home to a great collection of games and toys for all ages. In the upstairs loft, another toy chest with toys for the younger set awaits. The loft is "fenced in" with white lattice to give it privacy and security, but also to let the little kids ‘spy’ on the adults while they play with their own toys. It’s a fun spot for them to feel separate and yet still be close. The loft also provides extra sleeping space and has one twin bed.
The kitchen is nicely outfitted and home to a very large kitchen table which seats 12. Just outside on the porch, an outdoor dining table awaits. Tablecloths and place-mats are provided.
Outside, a deep-set covered deck turns into a wraparound porch from which you can view the lake and the yard leading to the woods. The porch has ample seating on wicker furniture out front and a long cushioned church bench on the side. Lots of opportunities exist for badminton, baseball, tag, and catching fireflies in a jar, or just laying on your back in the night to see the clear view of the Milky Way. There is also a zip line to ‘fly’ from one tree to another (lightweights only!) - use only with an adult supervising. In the woods, there is a wooden platform on the ground used as a "stage" for kids or it makes a great meditation platform. Walk through the woods and you come to a beautiful creek, the perfect spot to set up your easel or watch the kids find frogs and salamanders.
We hope you’ll relax at the lower East Lake Road and make it your home during your stay. It really has a magical ability to restore you. |
