Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: House
One of the highest homes on the tip of the Cape with views to match. We designed our house ourselves to be bright and as spectacular inside as the outside scenery is stunning.
Each level of our home has a bedroom, bathroom, deck and sea views. The living room is on the upper level with broad views towards Herring Cove where the sun sets and views on the other sides towards the town's famous monument and the Bay.
You can prepare drinks and meals in the kitchen in the middle level, while looking both in the direction of the National Seashore and in the opposite direction through our beautiful trees to the town spires. Dine in the room along side leading on to a deck to laze and ponder the coastal delights of the Cape.
Views, privacy and a substantial deck give the lower level additional charms of its own.
We hope you enjoy our home standing on its own natural 14,000 sq foot doon as much as we do.

Why the Owner Chose Provincetown
We bought land and built a home in Provincetown because it was one of the closest points in the USA to Scotland, allowing shorter flights to Scotland. Similarly, it also gave us a base for visiting family in the U.S.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Superb views; with binoculars, occasionally viewing whales spouting from the top balcony; walking to restaurants and bars, galleries and all the fun in town; jogging from our home through the dunes and along the Seashore; listening on misty days to the subtle foghorn sounds of the Cape; watching the bird activity on our land.

We are a family of three including a 3 year old child. We've rented several different homes in Provincetown and Truro and this is the only home we returned to twice. The owners are attentive and pleasurable, and the house is excellent and in great condition! Views are great, the breeze is great, and it's in a very nice location. Probably one of the two or three highest homes in the whole town! If we return to stay in Provincetown we will definitely try to stay at this house again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Hi Iain, I've been meaning to write to tell you how much, we enjoyed, once again, our stay at your house! We continued to travel since then, so I'm just getting back and organized. We had a wonderful time. The water at Herring Cove was warm enough to really enjoy. Race Point was fabulous, complete with the great seals there. I think the best part, for me, was that the flowers this year were absolutely spectacular! walking thru town was so fabulous with all those roses spilling over everything. The house was great - so thanks again! Warmly, Paula

'Doonbuouys' is itself a Contemporary & Bright Destination, with Commanding Views

We loved our stay at 'Doonbuouys' ... what a fantastic home! ...and that's how it felt, like our home away from home - so much more special than a unit or a condo. The owners Iain and Sean have clearly labored over every aspect of this superb dune top property, from the clever contemporary bright design to the original paintings by Sean throughout the house - no cheap prints in sight! Iain is a great host and pays personal attention to visitors by phone as well as by email. The view is spectacular! You can see the sea from most of the rooms and there is a commanding view of the entire Pilgrims Monument that cannot be seen from town center. You have the best of both worlds - you can sip cocktails on several different balconies, while watching the sunset and then walk to town in five minutes to enjoy the nightlife and street scenes; but then return to the quiet of this hidden gem for a great nights undisturbed sleep. We are from Arizona and to be able to enjoy sea breezes blowing right through the house was so refreshing. This house is as much a destination as Provincetown or the Cape itself - a real treasure - we will be back!
