Our house is located in South Harpswell, about 11 miles east of Brunswick, ME. We have a 3 bedroom, year-round house overlooking Basin Cove, a tidal area.The front yard is of good size, perfect area for games, cookouts, or just sitting outside to enjoy the view. There is a small deck complete with a propane grill and table and chairs. Closer to the water, is a landing with Adirondack chairs, then stairs leading to the small dock. The dock makes launching kayaks and canoes easy at high tide.
Tide charts are posted. Be sure to bring the binoculars to spot the wide variety of birds and ocean life! In the evening there are fantastic sunsets over the cove. The back of the house sits on a quiet lane which is a perfect place for children to ride bikes. There is also a fenced in side yard, perfect for little ones!
On the first floor is a full kitchen, living room, dining room area with woodstove for cool fall evenings, a bedroom with a twin trundle, full bathroom with a jacuzzi, sun porch (great for games and puzzles). These rooms all have views of the cove. There is also a spare room with a small library offering books and games for adults and children. On the second floor are two bedrooms with queen size beds and a bathroom with a shower. Both bedrooms overlook the cove.
The house is located close to the school playground, lobster pound, and The Dolphin Marina, in which the restaurant is well known for its' fish chowder and blueberry muffins. There is a vegetable market and cafe offering local produce and homemade treats less than five miles away.
