Hale Akamai comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids. It is clean and has everything you need for a delightful stay. Linens and towels are included and the big kitchen is fully equiped. We are continually renovating or updating the furnishings, appliances, doors, paint, and carpet.
This little hale is truly Hawaiian style located in a friendly neighborhood just minutes from world-class Poipu Beach on Kipuka Street. We drive to Poipu Beach in less than a minute (one). We roll our bikes there, and are in the waves, in less than a minute (one), and it takes less than 10 minutes to leisurely walk there.
Connected to Poipu Beach just to the east is Brennecke's Beach, a great place to learn to body board or body surf. We often watch Spinner Dolphins playing off Brennecke's Beach in the morning. The Waiohai Beach and surf break are connected to Poipu Beach just to the west. From The Waiohai, it's just a short walk along the coast to the super soft sands of Sheraton Beach.
For an adventure, pile in the car and drive to Ke'e Beach on the north side, hike the Na Pali Coast along the Kalalau trail, or maybe a round of golf and dinner in Hanalei. It is only a 15 minute drive to the overlook of Waimea Canyon- the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. For a Hawaiian style golf experience, check out 9 holes for 9 dollars at Kooks. For a world-class golf experience, Poipu Bay is only a 3 minute drive from Hale Akamai.
The back yard is spacious and grassy with a huge monkey pod tree that gives shade when the beach is too hot. A grapefruit tree and papaya tree and bananas provide a fresh breakfast when their fruit is ripe, which is most of the time. Play hard on the beach all day and come back to a cool back yard, BBQ fresh fish, and relax.
