beautiful property that allows you to enjoy and get the feel of the Marion area of South Carolina...it felt as if every sandy road led to this place. Easily sleeps 6, the grill was all we cooked on and it sat on a deck that overlooked beautiful greenery. The interior was absolutely stunning with red hue of wood. The spiral staircase is a work of art. The master bed is hand made and wooden. The waterfall, the two decks, the fireplace...the jacuzzi was the place we spent the most time. Highly recommend this for a family getaway or a romantic weekend (this is what we used it for). You cannot go wrong staying here. Be sure to go out early and see the deer and turkey that are everywhere.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

My husband and I hadn't had a getaway since we married 8 years ago. We were in awe the moment of our arrival, and my husband didn't hesitate to take a nap on the deck within 30 minutes of our arrival. The Rogers have definitely made this getaway a priority. It's immaculate! Just bring food! The green egg was an added bonus and we loved the serenity of the area chosen. Definitely walk the property, you will be amazed. Our lab had a ball in the pond and my husband did some fishing. The owner of this property is responsive if needed and very likeable. Rodney, if you would like to sell, I'm interested. We will be back! Thank you for your hospitality. Blessings to you and your family.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Lisa, Very nice to meet you and your husband. I would love to be able to enjoy the cabin some myself, but it has been booked so much till I can't get in. Maybe one day !! Hope to have you guys back in the future, not that bad of a drive for the peace and quiet. Thanks again. RR

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful cabin for two days. We were going to the Darlington NASCAR race and it was a perfect alternative to an overpriced hotel. The cabin was just perfect. So private, romantic and secluded. The waterfall is amazing. It was so nice to sit on the screened porch with morning coffee and enjoy the pond, the waterfall, the sounds of nature and the peaceful quiet. Communication was wonderful. Cabin was well supplied with all essentials.Owner response: Thanks guys for your review. Glad to have someone from California to enjoy the cabin. See yall next year !!

We came to South Carolina for our daughters graduation from Francis Marion University. We thought that this would be much more fun than getting hotel rooms. We were right, there was plenty to do here from playing games, to sitting around the fire, soaking in the hot tub, hiking, etc. The only downfall was, unfortunately, the cold, rainy weather. The fact that the Christmas decorations were still up in May didn't help this cold weather feeling. Also, the sheets, however clean, had stains and holes in them. But, all in all, we had a good time and are glad we stayed here rather than a hotel. I would also like to add that Rodney was very nice, always prompt in answering any questions I had for him.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks for the review. I just got your review today and will be buying new linens today . I only wish you had called once you noticed the issue as I would have gladly taken care of it promply. My cleaning service did not make me aware of this either and will be meeting with them to discuss this matter as well. Thanks again, for your stay.

We have rented a few cabins before and the pictures always make it more beautiful than what it really is so we expected to be welcomed with something different than the pictures. We were more than impressed. Exactly what you see is what you get! We were all amazed! This cabin is secluded enough where we were comfortable, but close enough to town that it wasn't a chore to go out. We have two young children, 2 and 4 years old and they even had a blast! There was so much to do, it was unbelievable! We seen turtles, lizards, frogs, so many creatures. Mr. Rodney was a blessing to work with, too. When we arrived there was a small leak in the kitchen and he was there within 10 minutes to look at it and quickly fixed it. With all these amazing amenities, boredom was not an option for any of the 7 people on this trip. Hot tub, golf cart, trails to walk, checkers on the large balcony, fire pit, relaxing hammock, Myrtle Beach not very far, everything was absolutely perfect. Worth every single penny, for sure! I would definitely recommend booking a relaxing, worthwhile vacation at this cabin. I really do hope we can make another trip out to this exact cabin. There is no room for disappointment!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My wife and I are on vacation from Afghanistan. Rodney made sure that every little nuance was taken care of. This cabin is absolutely awesome. The rustic style decor coupled with the tranquility of the 100 acre privacy made for a perfect getaway. We stayed alone for the first two days and invited the kids out for the last two. They enjoyed the fishing, hiking and the occasional wildlife. Words cannot describe the peace this place brought to me and my family. This will certainly be our new "home away from home." Thanks for everything Rodney!! P.S. Sell this place to me!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your 5 star review. Glad the cabin was what you were looking for on your vacation. Hope to have you in the future.

When we found this property we knew this was where we wanted to elope. Peace and quiet not far from things to do if we so desired to venture away from the private hideaway. The cabin is great for couples, it would probably be great for a family too just not too large. The bass pond is fun, and the outdoor games were a nice addition. We said our vows at the pond, with the cabin as a backdrop. We enjoyed our time there and it was everything it is advertised to be.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Quiet, private, serene. It was the perfect location for our elopement. We enjoyed staying here and walking in the woods, listening to nature, playing "hillbilly golf", dropping a line in the pond, and stargazing in the hot tub at night. So glad I was able to find this place, we both felt it was perfect. We were a bit sad to leave the warm weather of the south when our stay was over and sadder still to leave the calm of the property. Perfect for couples quiet alone time without being too far from conveniences and attractions. Definitely dine at Magnolia's on Main in Marion if you get the chance, they are only open for lunch but you will not be disappointed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The cabin was everything that it was promised to be. The inside was cozy and homey with all the modern amenities. The staircase was so beautiful. A work of art. The outside was awesome. You could walk in the woods or sit by a fire or play games . The big green egg was great. I would definitely go back again. And, I would certainly recommend to a friend.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: Hello, my name is Rodney Rogers. I am married to my lovely wife Christie. We have 2 wonderful sons Justin and Jamison. We own Pee Dee Fire & Safety Inc. We both graduated from Francis Marion University in Florence SC where I also played baseball. I was born and raised here and love the weather and slower pace of life. I have been in the service business for the last 15 years and know the importance of taking care of my clients. We go above and beyond what our clients expectations are and from comments from our guest they really enjoy visiting at Hideaway Haven. Starting in Nov. 2012 we will have a 2nd row beach house with heated pool for rent. 1898 S. Waccamaw Dr Garden City SC. www.vrbo.com/436735
Why the Owner Chose Pee Dee:
This land has been in the Rogers family for over 60 years. It was once a working farm with the main crop being tobacco. It joins my moms 100 acres and I bought it from my aunt and uncle in 2004. Large tracts of land are hard to come by now so I am very pleased to have bought it. for families that want to be near the beach but not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, this is paradise. Only one cabin on the 100 acres, so you have all the privacy you could want. Lots of wildlife and nature to clear your mind.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin is built overlooking a 1/2 acre pond with bass and bream. The cabin is made up of mostly pine wood from the trees off of the property. Lots of handmade items such as the spirial staircase. Kitchen sink was used on the farm at one point. We made a 20 foot waterfall that gives you that feeling of being in the mountains beside a flowing creek. You are one with nature and yet are only 15 minutes from super-walmart!!
