We just can't say enough about this place! From the second we walked in it felt like "home". It has everything you'll ever need except clothes & food! We had a blast kayaking, canoeing, boating, hiking, fishing, relaxing by the fire, playing games, and soaking in the hot tub. The kids really enjoyed all the wildlife... we had otters playing by the dock & eagles flying overhead! We also saw hummingbirds, chickadees, loons, deer, chipmunks, squirrels, ravens, snakes & turkey vultures. This cabin really is great! Thanks Bill & Gail for sharing your cabin with us. We will definately be back!
Owner response:Thank you Ben, Julie and Kids for the really nice testimonial. We get a lot of satisfaction knowing our guests enjoyed their stay. Sincerely, Bill and Gail

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week at your delightful cabin. We were joined by my brother and his family and also my sister. The cabin was everything it was advertised and more. We enjoyed fishing (caught enough for a super fish fry), hiking and sitting by the fire both inside and out. Thank you for a terrifice place to relax.

Great lakeside getaway in classic Minnesota Northern lakes country. Every aspect of our experience exceeded expectations -- the owners have truly thought of everything to make guests feel at home. We were looking for a quiet location for a mini family reunion, and it was perfect. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Our family stayed over Memorial Day weekend, the weather was beautiful as well as the home!! We had plenty to do, fished, boated, canoed, played bean bag, hot tub and much more. The home is very spacious and perfect for our family of 4 and some friends. We hope to return again soon!

Just returned from 4 wonderful days at the lake home. It was everything advertised and more. Lots of room for all and a variety of things to keep everyone entertained. Fishing was fun, great hot tub and just lots of ways to relax. I'd highly recommend a moonlight canoe ride if you have the nice weather and a full moon like we did. Much thanks to the Vagts for providing such a great cabin and being such great hosts.

Would highly recommend this cabin to others. The set up accommodated early risers and night owls w/o disturbing others. Access to the lake and the fishing boat was and unexpected entertainment boost!

Gail and Bill, We had a fabulous time. We fished, kayaked, went boating and had a blast on the floating innertubes. The hot tub was fine too. You have a gorgeous place. The workmanship and all the thoughtful planning and design is impressive. We'll be back and thank you for opening your home as a rental cabin for all of us to enjoy.

September 12-14 2008 We had the pleasure of spending a long weekend in the lake home. An absolutely beautiful location: we spent the days soaking up peace and quiet. We loved watching the birds at the feeder, and even got a chipmunk to eat sunflower seeds out of our hands! Cool fall nights were spent in the hot tub and in front of a crackling fire. All in all a perfect stay. We'll be back sooner rather than later.

Bill and Gail,I wanted to write and let you know that we had a wonderful time staying at your place. It was fantastic. I’ve been to a lot of remote Northwood’s destinations and yours nearly tops this list. We were looking for a little relaxation and we got it. We caught some fish everyday, small pike and a few walleye, cooked huge meals, had some beers, played in the snow, drove the back roads looking for moose, and played a lot of games. It was the perfect break from daily stress of our jobs, and our girlfriends were happy to go north without the tents for a change too. We had all the comforts of home there. Thanks, Ben

This is one of the most relaxing weeks I have ever had. The hiking and scenery were fantastic. The weather was perfect. The smells from the woods, the sunsets and the beauty of the lake were amazing. The cabin was very comfortable, the wireless network worked every day. The only downside was that my cell phone didn't work in the cabin and I actually liked that. Every thing was so refreshing and relaxing. I would recommend this very highly to people that love to relax, enjoy simple things and be at peace. I will return next year.

Our family stayed at the cabin in September 2007. The cabin was just like being at a home away from home. All the creature comforts of home and loads of peace and quiet. The cabin is very clean. Our kids even "adopted" the dog (Isabella) that came by the cabin to visit us. The lake is beautiful and the fishing is not bad. We used the boat several times and it worked great. We will be coming back next year!!

This beautiful lake home was beyond our expectations. Remote, quiet, peaceful, true log cabin feeling yet it has every ammenity you could want or need. Surrounded by the beauty of Superior National Forest and all it's wildlife. A wonderful place to escape to. Bill and Gail were wonderful hosts. We look forward to our next trip!

My husband and I recently stayed at this cabin for a few days in order to spend some quiet time alone. I was used to other "resort" rentals that cost more and have less features. I was astonished that such great amenities could be found at such a great price (3+br, screen porch, newer hot tub, WiFi, free use of boat, canoes, etc). We felt right at home when we arrived and loved every minute of it! This place is very secluded and quiet - hardly saw any other boats on the chain of lakes. I've been telling all of my friends about it since we got back. :-)

Gail and Bill, Thank you so much for everything you've done to make our stay in your home so great. It really is a paradise here. Your screen porch down by the water is so perfect - simple and so close to nature. Thanks again. Hope your summer goes well. I'm sure everyone of your renters will love it here.

This lovely, comfortable cabin was remarkably clean, spacious, and well-supplied. The lake is so peaceful and secluded. Our family took outings to several of the excellent state parks within an hour’s drive, but we enjoyed coming back to the cabin and lake just as much!
