My 87-yr old dad rented this house so he and Mom could spend some time with their seven grown children and spouses – no children or teens – all adults (50 and up). The house was even nicer than the pictures. The bedrooms are spacious with lots of room to unpack and settle in. The bathrooms are also roomy, with beautiful glass fixtures and showers. The kitchens and living areas were very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The elevator was extremely helpful for Dad and Mom. We loved the screened deck too. With two dishwashers and an ample supply of plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, flatware, etc, we did not use any paper products the whole week. Nice. I’m sure that my siblings would agree that it was the perfect place to connect with each other and we felt very much at home!

Well appointed, comfortable and well maintained property. It was great for us as each had his own room and bathroom. Well located near beach and conveniences. Easy to find. Owners were first class and were a great help to some first timers to Hilton Head. We would stay again and would wholeheartedly recommend to others.

We found the home to be the best of everything. The furnishings are superior with a warmth and taste that exceeds all expectations. We loved it so much that we are going back in May this year for another week! It is truly the best place for any type of vacation. We have rented on Hilton Head Island for years but this is the best of all! The walk to the beach is very short and has padding on the ground under a tree lined path. It is exceptional in every way. Julia and Jamie are the most gracious owners. We feel like we have known them for years. They want be helpful and go out of their way to please vacationers. The best vacation ever for us and we are so excited about going back in May and bringing two couples with us for lots more fun. You will love this home for a wonderfully restful and fun vacation. The pool, jacuzzi, and gas grill are great for kids and adults to just chill out on a lazy sunny afternoon. The best place ever and we are very picky people.

A fabulous house for a family celebration with four generations under one roof. Our Mom turned 90 and the family gathered over Christmas and New Years to celebrate. The house is elegant, spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed to accomodate a large family. Having two kitchens and eating areas were perfect as many large meals were prepared. Everyone could spread out easily with two living room areas and a large screened in porch. On Christmas, Santa lined the couch with stockings and the floor with gifts. The beach is gorgeous and a nice walk from the house. We had family photos taken right outside the house and they turned out beautifully. A perfect house for a celebration that will be with us forever.
Owner response:Thank you so much! We loved seeing all the children celebrating Christmas under our roof. You made it a beautiful Christmas season for us too. Meeting you and seeing the joy in your family was a gift to us.

We rented this property for a family reunion the week of Thanksgiving. Everything in the home was clean and functioning well. As this was Thanksgiving we particularly enjoyed having two kitchens! The beach is a short, pleasant walk away and all the little people enjoyed that! The owners were excellent hosts and were very attentive to our needs! Excellent experience!

This home was lovely and as described on the listing, very close to the beach with lots of room and well equiped. Julia and Jamie are so very nice and sweet - they were always easy to reach anytime we had questions or needed their assistance. We would recommend renting this home for anyone who wanted to be in one of the best locations on Hilton Head - close to the beach, close to shopping and also easy access to the Sea Pines area (a pass was provided).

This property was truly exceptional. The photos did not do it justice. All of the bedrooms were larger than expected. At times there were 14 of us in the house, but the house is so big that we never felt crowded. We only used the 7 bedrooms and 2 kitchens, but did see the additional 2 bedrooms and kitchen in the pool cabana and loved it. I wish we would have invited more people just so we could have used it! It was much nicer than I would have expected to have two kitchens. I have never encountered a more well stocked kitchen. We ate in quite a bit and was amazed that every item we needed was always on hand. Unfortunately, one of the ice makers in the refridgerator wasn't working, but with the ice maker in the garage, we managed quite well. The screened in porch is a highlight and seemed be where everyone came together to relax and plan out the days. Although this house is not on the beach it is just a short walk and we all made it several times a day. My niece had her two year old with us and found the beach was perfect for her. The pool was just the right size and there was someone in it or the hot tub almost all of the time. We rented bicycles which I would recommend. The bike paths are just wonderful. For those of us that are not regular bikers, it was very comforting to be on a path and well away from traffic. There are numerous restaurants, grocery stores and shops within easy biking distance. There were only a few times that we even used a car. The owners are very hands on and have furnished their home as if they themselves live there - no second hand, run down, cheap pieces like so many rental units are equipped with. Julie was extremely responsive right from the get go. She answered all of my emails and questions promptly. She and her husband were kind enough to stop by while we were there to insure that everything was great - I just know that if we would have needed them, they would have been there for us. All in all this was pretty darn near perfect and we will look forward to our return visit.

My family and I stayed at Julia and Jamie's house in August and had a great time. We all loved having the pool and the great area around it. We also loved the beautiful screen porch and all of the seating out there. We found the walk to the beach easy and the beach itself was so private! We did have a few problems with the air conditioner and the elevator but Jamie was incredibly responsive when we called to report them. The air conditioner was fixed with a few hours of our call. Overall the house is beautiful and well maintained. My Dad is already planning for us to return there.

What an amazing home to share as we gathered as a family of 18 for our annual Beach Week. Everything was exactly as pictured and described and the accomodations more than met our expectations and needs. Julia and Jaime are such warm and accomodating hosts, and have become treasured friends as well. Nothing is spared in making their home comfortable and family-friendly. Everyone commented on the incredibly comfortable beds, and all enjoyed the privacy of individual rooms with bathrooms (no air mattresses and sharing accomodations this year!!) that the nine bedrooms afforded. Each family took turns providing dinner and everyone found the kitchen well-equipped and easy to work in. We especially enjoyed the two kitchens and used the one without the stove as our breakfast/snacks/libations center, leaving the other for actual meal preparation. And what a treat to have two (actually three, if you count downstairs) refrigerators for drinks and food. No coolers with sloppy ice, etc., this year - YEA!! We all loved the pool (our little guy especially!!) and the fact that we didn't have to sit in the blazing sun to enjoy sitting by the pool. It was also a blessing to have the elevator, as we had a family member who had recently had knee replacement surgery and was unable to navigate stairs. Don't know what we would have done without it! What would we change? Not a darn thing!!! We LOVE "our" new Beach House and hope to return year after year for more fun connecting, renewing and reinforcing those precious ties that make us a family. Thanks, Julia and Jaime, for being willing to share this amazing place - see you next year!!!!!

Our family stayed at 12 Myrtle Lane for the third summer this June. We have a blended family of 17, including grandchildren who range in age from 2 to 9 years. Each year we are delighted by our good luck in finding this rental home and being able to return. It is even more beautiful and comfortable than the photos. On our third visit this year, it looked just as new and well cared for as it did the first year. It was even better as each year our hosts add more amneties each year and are constantly working to make the home more inviting . The room arrangement worked well for our group, with individual families coming from 5 different locations. We absolutely recommend this home to any large group--there are plenty of bathrooms and refrigerators for everyone. Our grandchildren love the pool--it's little ledge is perfect for the little ones to play in, and it works well for water battles for the older ones. The adults love the fact that we can be in sun or shade anytime of the day by the pool. There are many areas to gather as a large group or as several small groups. The lower level apartment is perfect for our single daughter and her friends ( they sometimes need a break from all the young children), but it would also work we ll for teens or a different family. We like to use the kitchen in that apartment as our poolside bar. The elevator is a plus for us as I have a bad knee, and the first two years, we had baby strollers, etc to cart up and down. It is also very appreciated for moving luggage from the garage to the third level bedrooms, and groceries to the 2nd level kitchens. It is a bit of a walk to the beach, but we always rent bikes and that makes it very easy. The hosts provide a wagon for carting gear and lots of pool and beach toys. We had six cars parked there without a problem, and that's not counting the large garage area which we had filled with bikes. I did some indoor cooking this year and we love the large gas grill. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and pans and dishes and serveware for large groups. At times, one stove and one microwave made cooking for 20 people a bit difficult, and that is the only negative I can give on this wonderful rental. The house has everything you could need for a wonderful week at the beach. Both Julia and Jamie are perfect hosts and are always available to help with anything. Don't rent a golf cart--they are very expensive and not allowed on the beach path or in Sea Pines (Salty Dog etc)-

This was a great rental. We rented it on VRBO. We wanted to take our three daughters and their families with us on vacation so we needed a house big enough for 18 - 20 people. We found this on VRBO and loved all the pictures on the website. It was easy to find and the house was just as we had seen in the pictures. It was sparkling clean when we arrived from the pool to all of the bedrooms and kitchens and baths. Julia and Jamie were there to greet us and gave us lots of ideas of things to do in the area. We spent a day at a ceramics place and one day taking a boat ride to see the dolphins. Jamie pointed us to a very good restaurant. They were extremely helpful and we feel as though we have made two new friends. We could tell they love the house because of the way it is taken care of. The children would have been happy to never leave the house. When they were not in the pool, they were down at the beach building sandcastles or utilizing that wonderful porch by playing some of the board games. We would recommend this rental to anyone interested in getting away with family or couples that like to travel together. My husband and I are looking forward to renting this again.

A nice place to stay, any little glitches like running out of gas for the grill, ice makers/refrigerator not working properly were taken care of promptly by Jamie and Julia. Sometimes finding the things we needed in the kitchen was a littlle difficult, but we always found what we needed in the end. At times we thought the pool could have been a bit warmer. All the rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable. This house had a great location close to shops and the beach. I would highly recommend this house for any large group get-a-way.

We recently met 4 other couples (10 adults total) here to unwind, and let me just say that 12 Myrtle Lane was everything and more. The house was decorated perfectly and really made you feel welcomed. No cheesy beach house furniture here. We rented our bikes from Palmetto Bikes (ask for Sam) and had so much fun riding around HHI - from the beach to the bar - it was tons of fun. As we were there in late March, Julia arranged to have the hot tub available and it provided hours of enjoyment for the whole group. The location is perfect - short walk to the beach and a nice bike ride to Caligony or other more "congested" areas. Make 12 Myrtle Lane your home for your next getaway - you won't be disappointed. Also make sure you enjoy a nice adult ICEE at The Frosty Frog cafe or check out the music at The Big Bamboo or The Tiki Hut and Truffles cafe for some great food.
Owner response:Thanks so much! You were great guests, and it was our pleasure to have you. You found some really good local spots that we enjoy all the time here. Come back to see us!

We just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Julie and husband. They are such gracious host and the home exceeded our dreams. The family consisted of 20 people ranging from age 3 to 88. The oldest member found the house totally handicapped accessible. The screen porch was wonderful for breakfast meals or late night chatting. The lower level accommodated the teens and twenty something members late night forays without disrobing younger and older members rest schedule. The house is fully equipped for any type of cooking with a complete china services to feed a large crowd. Lastly the beach is just a quick step from the house and it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just can’t say enough about the area. We found something for everyone from the golfer, runner, biker, antiquary, shopper and historians. Not to mention those that simple retreated to the beautifully appointed suites sleeping, reading, and rapid internet for business or pleasure. We would definitely return. Again thank you. Just back from Hilton Head. Our group was 7 married couples who live in a retirement community in Florida. We were just a little concerned, considering the recent negative review for this property. Our experience could not have been more enjoyable. These owners go out of their way to ensure that you vacation will be as good as possible. We had the opportunity to meet both Jamie and Julie.(owners.) Hilton Head is a great USA resort location, if their house was only half as pleasing as it was, it would have been enough. However this house has all the amenities, each bed is top quality pillow tops; the rooms are 10' ceilings and very large. Each of the couples wished they could bring their individual showers home with them. There are three complete kitchens, three top of the line refrigerators, etc. etc. We all are water drinkers and each of us brought a few cases of water, the water in the house was so good, we came back with all the water we brought. Julie has furnished the house as if only her family and possibly a few friends of theirs would visit. This is not your typical rental house furniture, each room has its own personality, the only regret we have is that we had to leave at the end of the week. Great job Julie and Jamie, you have created the perfect residence for the larger group traveling public.

I don't know where to begin to describe this gorgeous, huge, very clean and new house with all imaginable comfort you can think of. I guess I should start with the owners, Julia and Jamie, who patiently answered all my questions in the planning phase already. This was extremely helpful to me since we travelled from Austria/Europe and I wanted everything to be just perfect - which turned out to be thanks to Julia and Jamie! We've been to many rental houses but have never been treated with so much warmth and so cordially before. Thanks again! We met with our American relatives and were altogether 6 people. The size of the house makes it possible that you can have all the privacy you want and the places for get-togethers are great. There are actually 2 living rooms and 2 kitchens, adjoining each other, very nicely furnished and cozy. Please note that there is some exceptionally beautiful furniture which you don't find in other rental places. The bedrooms are all great, so are the bathrooms etc. There are 4 separate air condition units in this house, so that we Austrians who are not used to the rather cold temperatures inside the buildings over there, felt comfortable turning up the air in our bedrooms to a "normal" temperature. The pool is rather big and the screened in porch made it possible to sit in the rocking chairs without being bothered by mosquitos. Very relaxing! It is totally quiet there, you don't hear a sound in the night. The wonderful big beach is a very short walk away. Stores are very close, even to be reached on foot. I do hope to come back to this gorgeous rental; in fact, I wish I was there right now, escaping the early fall and cold weather of our mountains!! Nothing else to add - 5 stars - PERFECT!!

Hi Julia, I just wanted to thank you for letting us share your vacation home with our family. It was perfect for the little ones and big ones. The house was spacious and beautiful and it was so nice to be able to eat together as a family. We cooked 4 of the nights we were there and had fabulous meals together. We appreciated you coming over and getting the oven fixed for our next meal. The first one was a little hairy but we managed and it will make for good memories years to come. The little ones loved the pool and the ledge for them was perfect to play and sit on to keep cool. Also, thank you for sending some one out to fix the AC right away! The only thing I wanted to mention was the towel rack and toilet paper holder were loose in the cabana king size room. My husband was going to tighten them, but did not have a small enough screw driver. Once again thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us. Warmest regards, Maureen

My family and I planned this vacation for over a year. It was a time for us to reconnect with family members that we hadn't seen in many years. From the beginning of our stay we encountered one problem after another. 1) The refrigerator downstairs did not work 2)Pool was dirty and not filtering correctly 3) The maid took the towels on the 2nd day we were there and FORGOT to bring the clean towels back the next day. The owner brought us some beach towels and we were told to make sure we washed all of them and put them back for her 4) upstairs shower clogged after the first day and we had to try to unclog it every time we used it. We had to call them out numerous times for the refrigerator and for the pool. We were told it was our fault the pool wasn't working because it had too much water in it..? We worked very hard to leave the home in the same condition it was in when we arrived, but were told we would not be getting our deposit back. Looking back I wish I had taken pictures after we cleaned so I would have had proof that there was no damage to the home. We were also told on the last day that we exceeded the limit of people for the house, but we did not. The extra 4 they complained about were babys. We had a wonderful family vacation in Hilton Head and we will be back, but we won't stay at any of their rentals.
Owner response:Dear Melanie, Our goal is to have each of our guests to experience a better vacation in our home than they expected. From our conversations with you during your stay, we know that you enjoyed staying in our home and that you wrote your negative review only after learning that you forfeited your deposit. We were happy to respond to your many requests for service and extras, but we expect you to honor the terms of your contract. Our home is always set to accommodate the number of guests in the contract. By bringing 30 people, you stressed the systems to the limit. Even though we responded and remedied each of your requests, our home could not adequately accommodate all the extra demands that you placed upon it. This home is a great source of pride for us, and we strive to keep it in pristine condition. Our guests who arrive after you must be able to enjoy the same beautiful, clean, well kept home that you were so pleased with when you arrived. After your stay, we hired an extra cleaning crew to try and get ready for our next guests. We brought in a painter to touch up damaged walls. The new carpet in the pool cabana had to be professionally cleaned. We expect wear and tear, as we want our guests to enjoy themselves, but we have not had this much repair needed from our other guests. In closing, please know that we are happy that you had a great vacation on Hilton Head. We respect your right to choose your place to stay, but we stand by the terms in our contract for you and all of our guests. Happy vacationing, and we wish all of you the very best! Julia and Jaime

My family really enjoyed their stay at this rental property. The house was everything we wanted and expected. The beach area we walked to was very nice and just private enough. We have a young toddler so we enjoyed the pool ( a ledge runs the length of the pool making it safe), the beach, the local parks and the many kid friendly restaurants. When not going to the restaurants we enjoyed the gourmet kitchens, grill and local seafood. The owner's were very responsive and helpful. Very easy community to rent a bike and ride around.

The home is gorgeous, and we really appreciated the cleanness and space! Thank you Julia and Jamie for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home on Hilton Head Island. The house offered everything we were looking for to handle a large group of golfers and spouses. The two living rooms and kitchens were perfect for our group. We also liked that all the bedrooms had king or queen beds, they were perfect for couples. The beach is a very short walk, and South Forest beach is one of the nicest on the island. Julia and Jamie made us feel welcome and are the most responsive hosts we have ever had on the island, and we have been going there for years. We would recommend them and their home to anyone who would like to enjoy a wonderful vacation on Hilton Head Island.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this seven bedroom home in South Forest Beach. The home is very beautiful and tastefully decorated, offering many amenities that our group appreciated. Jaime and Julia have thought about many things in this home to make it very comfortable and accommodating to their visitors. I will certainly recommend this home to someone looking for a vacation home in Hilton Head Island taking a large group and wanting easy access to the beach. We had a great family reunion week in this wonderful house. With people coming from throughout the country, we wanted to spend a lot of time together, yet were a bit apprehensive about staying in one house. This house worked perfectly. There were enough places to gather, and plenty of places to escape to. An added benefit was that the two kitchens permitted those on strict allergen-free diets to know their food was safe. Many thanks to Julia and Jaime for the use of this beautiful home!
