This very unique octagon home is located just 250' from a private beach on the Intercoastal Waterway on the north side of the Island (not on the Gulf) where you can land your personal water craft or small boat. The white sand beach is very gradual without all the big waves and perfect for children. Excellent fishing and crabbing right here. A private, gated boat ramp is located just 10 blocks away. The beaches on the Gulf of Mexico are 6 miles away by car, 3 miles by boat.
The kitchen is a chef's dream. Stacked double oven/convection ovens, microwave, toaster and toaster oven, blender, coffee maker all with a view of the water. The living area and master bedroom have built-in surround sound with DVD. Master bedroom also has a separate shower and a Jacuzzi jetted tub. Both bedrooms have sliding doors onto the upper deck.
The Blue Angels practice almost every Tues and Wed at NAS in Pensacola, it's unbelievable and it's free. The all new Wharf is within 10 minutes with an awesome theater, shopping and concert amphitheater. Near there is Waterville with go karts, rides and water slides. Tanger outlet Mall is 20 minutes away in Foley.
From the large double decks you can see Pelicans nightly and dolphins regularly. Enjoy dinner on the lower deck watching the Pelicans feed and claim their dock pole for the evening.

We are looking forward to spending our fourth winter in the Octagon House. It is truly our "home away from home." We enjoy being part of the neighborhood. Its quiet, peaceful location is away from the activity of the beach, yet the Gulf Coast is just a few minutes' drive. The house has everything we need for an extended stay. The open downstairs living area is perfect for entertaining and the view from the many windows (both upstairs and down) is amazing. The upper and lower decks are great places for enjoying morning coffee or an afternoon coctail, spotting dolphins, cooking on the gas grill, and gazing at the stars. The owners are very helpful and accomodating.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We stayed in this beach house in July of 2011 and it was wonderful! It is very spacious and had plenty of room for our family of four. Six people could easily be comfortable in this house. It was very quiet and peaceful and about a 10 to 15 minute drive from the main beach area. Our children (ages 5 and 8) loved this house and really enjoyed playing at the small beach area. The sand there is white but I will say the water is not the same as the main beach strip. It is more like lake water so don’t go expecting the bluer water you see at the beach. It is very shallow so they were able to go out far in it and there is also an area of rocks that was full of hermit crabs. They loved catching them! Some things to keep in mind about the house are if you are bringing your dog be aware that many dogs have stayed here. The house is very clean but a male dog could have a hay day in this house due to the various smells. Luckily the entire downstairs is tiled so we kept our dog confined to that area so he wouldn’t be tempted to mark on the carpet upstairs. Also, the stairs are tiled and quite steep so if you have small children you might want to bring a baby gate to keep them off the stairs. Overall, I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a quiet peaceful place to stay. We had friends staying on the main strip and there is a vast difference in staying here and there. This house is for families that are looking for a slower paced atmosphere and don’t mind not being at the main beach all the time. The owners are wonderful to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this house again. It surpassed our expectations!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

My ex-roommate & I had the pleasure of staying at this delightful home last Thanksgiving. The view from the balcony is fabulous. We watched dolphins jump & play in the bay as we drank our coffee from the balcony in the mornings. The fact that we were able to travel with our 4-legged babies only added to our enjoyment. We walked to the private beach everyday with our "babies" so they could wear themselves out running & playing in the sand. We were looking for a place that was not only quiet, but beautiful & relaxing....WE FOUND IT!!! We have already booked our Thanksgiving trip this for year. I anticipate our return on an annual basis.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

The beach house is more beautiful than the photos indicate. The private beach has a beautiful view and excellent fishing. There are also a lot of crabs there, but we did not have crab traps on this trip. Next time we will be more prepared! Conveniently located near all the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach attractions. Also near the Pensacola Naval Museum [Blue Angels]. Most relaxing vacation we have ever had at Orange Beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of four recently stayed at the octagon house at Orange Beach, AL and at had a wonderful time. The home is very comfortable and convenient to all local restaurants and attractions. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed and more. The pictures do not do this home justice. My one criticism is that the king bed is in the guest room instead of the master, but we were so tired at the end of the day it didn't matter too much. We enjoyed the beach on the gulf in the morning that was only 10 minutes away, and then played at the small beach next to the house in the afternoons when the kids woke up from their naps. We loved staying in the quiet Bear Point area instead of surrounded by all the high-rise condos. This was our first time to rent a beach house and it is definitely on our list of places to visit again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
