Location: Hanalei, North Kauai, Kauai, Hawaii, USA (Central to all North Shore Beaches, 55 minutes from Lihue)

The Upstairs Beach House has a nice long lawn and then a few trees right before the sand. It is on a 1/3 acre lot at the quiet end of Weke Road. It is a cul de sac so very little traffic. The lot is in about the midddle of Hanalei Bay. The views from the Upstairs are really great. You can see the surf when its there, the boats when they are there and the point at Waikoko. It is hard to leave the lanai (coevered deck) which runs across the ocean side of the house.

Not fancy, but a very comfortable beach house, open beam ceiling in living dinning area and ocean views. There is a queen and 2 twins. BBQ and table on lanai. Beach chairs for the beach. You can walk to Hanalei town and you are within a 20 minute drive of all the North Shore's best other beaches...that is if you can pull yourself off the lanai!

The flowers, fruit and coffee that were available for us were very welcoming touches. The house was in a perfect location for us. It was very peaceful in the evenings. This really helped make our vacation a relaxing one. Finally, we were blessed with great weather and we particularly enjoyed our daily walks to the pier, the nightly sunsets from the lanai, and our first experience as ocean sweepers.   • Great piece of property at the base of Hanalei Bay - we rented the upstairs unit for 6 days/5 nights (not long enough...) - upstairs was perfect size for our group Coffee in the morning on the covered lanai, a glass of wine and a BBQ every evening. All with under 200 steps to the sand - can't beat it We'll be back - mahalo Cheers Peter and Marti
