This area is part of the Aquatic reserve, the only one designated in Washington State. The Cascade Marine Trail runs through this which brings kayakers from near and far through the islands. You will be able to view all sorts of WILDLIFE, from nearby bald eagles to orcas, sea lions, otters, herons and other numerous birds.
The patio, HOT TUB and “indoor” lighthouse will also be grand spots to view the many cargo ships and fishing boats that go by Vashon Island daily. Enjoy BEACH FIRES at night, along with late night beach walks which will be memories that will last a lifetime. Wait until you take a flashlight along the beach at night at low tide and view sea creatures you’ve never seen before!
The home is unique, with VIEWS OF MT. RAINIER FROM EVERY ROOM. Imagine waking up every day with a view of the majestic mountain and the sound of the waves of Puget Sound as your wake up call. The property faces mostly south, on the SUN SIDE OF THE ISLAND, with almost half of the rainfall of nearby areas, including the other side of Vashon. Madrona trees thrive here.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, trash compactor and plenty of storage. You will be able to prepare your meals while enjoying the outside through your picture window. You will love eating in the stunning, ALL WINDOW DINING ROOM while watching the wildlife and ships go by.

Why the Owner Chose Vashon Island
My husband and I fell in love with this house a few years ago after we had been looking for 5 years for private waterfront property. There is nothing like it on any of the islands we looked at. It's so private and everyone is very friendly. We have 15 grandchildren and they LOVE coming to the beach. It's perfectfor us, since we live in Bellevue and can come out anytime all year long. Everyone who visits tells us they feel they have found a little spot of paradise!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love to be able to walk the beach from our home and watch the wildlife, without the noise of the city and the bustle of people. It's a chance to get away, while being very close to activities, if we want them. There are many excellent restaurants on the island, art galleries, garden and lavender tours, and planned activies for all ages. But basically, we like to stay at the house and enjoy the ever changing scenery, whether dining on the patio, sitting in the hot tub, or just relaxing on the beach or inside the house. There is no place we'd rather be but here.
Historical Landmark, weekly tours, beautiful sandy beach, many events

Every mid-winter break, my husband and I and our 4 kids (ages 13-5) try to take a quick getaway to Vashon from our home in Bellevue. We have rented some great waterfront property, but this one tops them all! We were majorly "wowed" with the beautiful and very comfortable house, the "crow's nest", the amazing views of Mt. Rainier from everywhere on the property, the hot tub, the private beach which we strolled to the Pt. Robinson lighthouse, while seeing bald eagles, starfish, deer, horses, seals. We lucked out with perfect, sunny, warm weather in February, but that house in any weather would have been a treat. It's a fantastic getaway and we'll definitely be back!

We were VERY impressed with the property and house.. Even though the pictures looked great on VRBO, we were surprised that it was even better than we expected! Spending Thanksgiving at the house was amazing and we felt so relaxed and enjoyed the opportunity to all be together in such a lovely setting. The eagles were our guests most of the days and we felt like we were so close to nature, with the water and beach at our doorstep. Our children loved everything about our stay. When they weren't playing on the beach, they loved the puzzles and games you provided. We will definetly return! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful spot with us!

Pros: Fantastic retro-style (but VERY cool) home, on an absolutely FANTASTIC beach. We had views of Seattle day & night, not to mention the amazing views of Mt. Rainier. I couldn't imagine a more perfect setting. All amenities were great and in exc. condition. The kids couldn't get enough of the beach or mussels. Great value, great trip. Con: If there was a con (I don't consider it one) it would be the rocky beach. Some might like sand, but with the water at a constant cool (if not down right cold) temp., sand would only be a benefit if you were going swimming. And if you really want to, there's sand at the lighthouse not far away. For the location and seclusion, this wasn't a con for our families.
Owner response:The beach is rocky and sandy. When the tide is out, it's very sandy all the way out to the buoy. This is home for the sand loving gooey duck clams but the beach is rockier closer to shore . This is a great place for beach fires and s'mores.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous spot. An old group of friends were able to reunite, relax, enjoy the stunning views of Mt. Rainier did a little scuba diving right in front of the house, kayaking, made shmores on the beach, took dips in the hot tub and gazed at the fabulous stars. It was wonderful to have such a wonderful home to retreat to (just steps away) in between and after all of our fun activities at such a uniquely secluded and beautiful spot. Thanks for the hospitality and helping to make for a memorable weekend we won't forget for a long time.

Our family stayed at this beautiful beach waterfront home and absolutly fell in love with it. It has something to offer for ever age. My children (ages 11, 7 & 5) thought it was the best place they have ever been. They made forts out of drift wood, found many shells, discovered many sea animals like starfish, and roasted marshmellows over the beach fire. They LOVED the lighthouse. We didn't need to worry about them at all. It's a very private beach that is very flat and sandy when the tide is out. We even saw an eagle and enjoyed rowing in the boat the owners let us use. We have rented vacation homes for the past 10+ years and this is the best place we have ever stayed. I would highly recommend it for families and/or couples. It is a very unique place to stay.

The cruise ship on land lived up to its advance billing. We had a remarkably sunny weekend and enjoyed the long walks on the very private beach, the numerous visits from eagles and seals & just relaxing on the patio and watching Mount Rainier in all its splendor. Thanks for allowing this group of old friends to reconnect in such a spectacular setting.

Just back from a spectacular Women's Weekend at this amazing home. The house itself is fantastic--fun, comfortable, beautifully and thoughtfully appointed--and the setting is, of course, stunning. The nine of us (we got permission!) had plenty of room to roam, and those four bathrooms were much appreciated. We'd all come back in a heartbeat.

My team needed to get out of the office to focus on our 1-3 year initiatives. Your home was the perfect setting to clear our minds of the day to day distractions and dive deep into our pool of priorities. We kicked off the meeting by diving into the Puget Sound... a better idea on paper than in real life. Not only did we achieve our professional objectives, we also spent a lot of time catching up with each other and remembering all the fun we've had over the years, growing the company and growing up together. Thank you for opening up your amazing home. I highly recommend this home as a perfect business retreat, vacation spot (also great for kids), or a romantic getaway.

Our Women's Circle had our annual Retreat at this beautiful house this winter, and it was wonderful. The no-bank beach is perfect for walking, the setting is very private, the view is stunning, the facilities are well-appointed and comfortable, and the orcas, seals, eagles, and herons made excellent company. We recommend it!
