Why the Owner Chose Willow
Willow is a beautiful place to vacation. WILLOW CREEK INN is centrally located to other areas popular with visitors. There's many things to do in Willow if you love the outdoors, love to fish or just enjoy scenic beauty & wildlife.
The Unique Benefits at this House
WILLOW CREEK INN is private. The river is 75 feet from the rental and the sound of the water is soothing. This river is not accessible for motorized boats, but a favorite for rafters & kayakers. Our guests have spotted and/or photographed a variety of wildlife on the property. The river is accessible by foot. Great fly-fishing for rainbow/steelhead trout. There are gravel bars you can access for fishing & gold-panning. There's an eagle's nest on the property which eagles occupy during the summer months & raise their young. Willow has an excellent fishing guide who will take you down the river in a raft. In the winter, snow-machiners use the "old military trail" to gain access into Hatcher Pass. Winter renters also enjoy viewing the Northern Lights on cold clear nites in the Northern Sky.
Owner's Map of Willow
In 1979, we began to build our home, here in Willow, and know well the beauty of this mountainous area, which is home to many rivers, lakes and much wildlife. After purchasing this property, just 6 miles from where we live, we knew it would be the perfect place for a wonderful vacation get away because of the unique & wild beauty of the riverfront. We began to build WILLOW CREEK INN in 2006 and opened for business the following year. We've really enjoyed meeting our guests from all over the United States and know that everywhere you travel, each place has it's own beauty unique to that area. We love sharing what we have here in Alaska with others. We are originally from Chicago and St. Louis, but Alaska has been our home since 1975.

Ginny and Paul were great hosts. The home was a great place to relax. It was clean and well supplied. Many hours were spent on the porch just watching the river flow by. Can't wait to get back.
Owner response:We sure enjoyed our little visit with you. We don't often get to visit with our guests. It was great conversation. Hope to see you back in Alaska again. Thank you again for your business. Paul & Ginny

My fishing buddy and I stayed here for six days in September and all I can say is what a great place this is! The website pictures do not do this place justice. It is centrally located to many great streams (Willow Creek, Montana Creek, Goose Creek, etc) as well as sightseeing and wildlife viewing. It is very well equipped and the setting on Willow creek with 27 acres makes it a great place to get away from the crowds. We inquired about a local guide and were referred to George Ortman (www.adventureguiding.com). We booked him for two days, had such a great time and caught so many fish that we booked him for third day. He comes highly recommended. I will have to say this is the nicest place I have ever stayed and look forward to returning to Willow Creek Inn. Eric, Georgetown, Colorado

This cabin is beautiful and the setting is perfect. We loved the sound of the rushing water, the fishing experience, and the location. It was quiet, wonderfully stocked, and very clean. The owner's are great and gave us information for activities and a great reference for a local fishing guide. Don't miss the drive over Hatcher Pass. We would highly recommend this property and will return again. Our 25th anniversary couldn't have been spent in a better place.

There were six of us and the Willow Creek Inn was perfect for us. Paul was the perfect host.He made sure we had everything we needed and was a wealth of information! The cabin was spacious and clean and very comfortable. It was relaxing to hear the stream rushing by and to walk alongside it in the woods. We really enjoyed it there and hope one day to return!

We have stayed at both cabins provided by the above renters and have enjoyed each stay. We have tried to book other times as well, but the cabins are always full. That tells you something. They have always been clean, a good location for us, and flexible. We will be staying at this Willow property again, with no doubt. The owners are responsible and caring and want to ensure that their guests have a hassle free stay. The scenery is beautiful and it is a very relaxing, and calming place.
Owner response:We've enjoyed having you as guests. We're glad your family was also able to be there last summer. Thank you so much for your kind review and we hope to see you there again. Have a great summer!

We stayed at this 2 bedroom rental long term during the winter of 2008 and loved it. We were building our own home and needed a place to rent until its completion. The property location is very beautiful and peaceful and the house is furnished very nicely and stocked very well with linens and everthing for the kitchen. The owners were really nice. They always kept the driveway plowed and if there was anything we needed we always felt comfortable calling them. We would love to come back during the summer months just to experience summer at this rental. The river is right out front of the house and it must be really nice in the summer. We would recommend this rental to anyone wanting to vacation in Alaska or as a long-term rental during the off season.
Owner response:Thanks for the great review. We were glad to be able to accomodate you. We hope you are enjoying your new home!

This was a great place to stay and the house had everything we needed. Our kids really enjoyed picking the wild berries around the cabin and making syrup with them for french toast. We left wishing we had more time to stay and enjoy Alaska. We would definitely recommend staying here during a visit to Alaska.
Owner response:Thanks Brian & Jeanette, Hopefully you'll be able to come back someday! Glad you enjoyed our place. The Pierces

Me and my husband stayed in the smaller cabin and LOVED it! Paul and Ginny were so helpful and kind and their cabin is beautiful. The location is perfect if you are looking to get away and relax as you listen to the sound of the river that is out front of the cabin. Great salmon fishing is close and it's a good location to get to many places, north or south. It has a great view and the cabin is wonderful inside. I hope to stay here again and I plan on recommending it to anyone interested in visiting Alaska!

Had a great time staying at the cabin this past July. My brother and two sons had the vacation of a lifetime! The cabin was perfectly located for access to Hatcher Pass, Talkeetna and Mt. McKinley. Definitely off the beaten path, but still had all the comforts of home and ironically could get a cell signal! Didn't see any bears at the cabin, but did see bald eagles.
