We had the delightful pleasure of spending several days at Casa Baja in March 2010. It was our second trip to San Felipe, and we basically just packed the car and started driving. We were going to wing it, and hope to roll into town and find a place to stay, but I pulled up Casa Baja on VRBO, and gave a call to see if it was available. Randy made it happen!! Last minute and all. Luckily, he was down in SF with his family, so it made it easy to take care of payment, etc. He even showed us around one of the other homes (which was great, because we will be coming down with friends the next time and will need a bit more room!) Upon our arrival, we stopped in town to grab tacos from the stand, even though we had already eaten dinner, and it was 11pm! We had both been to PV, Cabo, etc. many times before, and this was such a refreshing change of pace... so different from the clubbing night scene! Casa baja was so romantic, quaint and free from the hustle and bustle of the Mexico we're so used to. The home itself is warm, spacious and so tastefully decorated. It was just the two of us, but would have been great if we had been able to get our friends to come. Perfect for four! We loved the privacy. The thing that I remember most is just chilling on the rooftop, grilling up shrimp, soaking up the sun, reading books and sipping margaritas! The bedrooms were serene and peaceful and I slept better than I had in weeks. Each afternoon around sunset, we would take a walk down the beach, and admire the lovely homes and sprinkling of shells on the beach. There, in solitude, with our cold Pacificos, we would sit and watch the brilliant sun against the pinkish-purple sky slowly drop into the sea. This fully-loaded, beautifully-decorated, gorgeously-surrounded, quiet home was exactly what we needed! It was an escape from the hustle and bustle the SF Bay area and a nurturing way to reconnect with ourselves and each other. We both left the place feeling completely rested and pampered - we both agreed it was the best mini vacation we have ever been on. Thank you, Randy, for sharing your lovely home with us. We plan on coming back very soon!

Our arrival went perfect, made contact with Arturo and quickly began our long week of much needed rest. The beach was just a short distance away, couldn't ask for anything better. The house was beyond perfect, ejoyed all of the amentities. Sunsets are extemeley beautiful in this region and the clear nights are stellar for those who follow astronomy. The upper deck serves well!

Our experience in San Felipe at Casa Baja completely surpassed our expectations. The house was great, everything was spacious and relaxing. We grilled out on the roof every night with the sunset in the background. The firepit kept us warm and the beach is a two minute walk from the house. Couldn't have asked for more except a few more days of vacation! Thanks again,...had a blast

We give CASA BAJA five stars!! We've traveled to many places and have stayed in very diverse accommodations in all our travels but we have never felt at home like we did at Casa Baja. We have also visited San Felipe many times but your home, Randy and Shelli, made our stay so much more enjoyable. We are deeply appreciative because you are the perfect hosts. All the amenities and details to make Casa Baja comfortable, functional and attractive show how much you care for your guests. San Felipe is simple, peaceful and friendly. We love the people, the food, the Sea of Cortez, and your roof top "observatory" at night made us feel so in awe of God's creation. May He bless you for allowing our bodies and souls to be refreshed and restored!! Muchas gracias.

We wanted a restful place to relax and unwind and Casa Baja provided more than we could have imagined. Our goal of heading to San Felipe was to be in a comfortable house in a beautiful area away from tourist activities and the urban hustle. When we weren't out biking, or hiking in the dunes, or on the beach, we were enjoying Casa Baja to the fullest. We enjoyed every part of the house. It was a luxuriously spacious abode for 2 people. The fresh fish and shrimp from the nearby marina were beyond compare. We cooked almost every meal, and the water filters in the kitchen and on the roof were a huge advantage. Being able to drink from the tap made things a lot easier, not to mention all the plastic water bottles we didn't have to consume. We also made good use of the living room fireplace, and both the dvd and cd players for evening entertainment. The roof deck was our favorite afternoon hangout spot, for reading or just gazing at the mountains and sea. The dunes were beautiful to walk through as well as just look at from up high. It's an amazing area, and again we thank your for providing such a nice spot to call home for the week. And a special thanks to Arturo and his family for helping us feel so welcome. Sincerely, Alex and Sarah San Fransisco New Years, 2009

My wife, 2 kids, pet, and myself stayed in Casa Baja for 5 days and could not have picked a better place in all of San Felipe. The location is in a very nice setting and the view from the rooftop is unexplainable when you actually are standing there. The pool which is within 50 steps of the front door is large and very clean. The host was very attentative while we were there and if we needed anything we had it immediately. For the price you can not find a better location with this amount of room anywhere. The house is decorated to fit the location and beds were very comfortable. We were within a short stroll down to the most unbelievable beach I have ever been on. We were the only ones on the beach all 5 days there. We will definately be going back to San Felipe and without a doubt to Casa Baja.

Early this month we visited San Filipe for the first time. We enjoyed our stay. We were having such a good time (it was so beautiful and relaxing) that we decided to stay an extra day. My husband, Jeff played golf. He said the course was nice and that he would play it again. Several of us enjoyed a pool side massage. We walked along the beach and found sand dollars and shells. The accomodations were comfortably furnished, attractively decorated, well maintained and reasonably priced. The showers had great water pressure. We ate at several restaurants in San Filipe and enjoyed the food. We both give our stay a definite thumbs up!!

wow! thank you so much. everything was AMAZING! really the house, the location, the heat was intense but still so nice and the pool and beach more than made up for it. My 3 year old is now officially a fearless swimmer thanks to the great pool and beach conditions. we met a lot of the locals, and cannot begin to tell you how wonderful they all were. so helpful, we found the best taco stands and beaches thanks to all of these great people. the roof top was my favorite spot to watch the sunrise. so much peace. and not to mention the great grill. im sure you'll find that everything was well taken care of. maybe a little more sand here and there but over all. we took great care of your beautiful home. we are looking forward to next year. thanks again randy and shelli. talk to you soon, carolina

Randy and John, As you know, we got married on the beach May 10th, and had our receptions at Casa Sonora. I wanted to let you know, it was beyond our expectations. The house was perfect for my in-laws and the pull-through courtyard made for a grand entrance for me and the bride, friends raining flower pedals from above. Arturo helped us round up some extra chairs and tables, and with the addition of some white Christmas lights and candles, the rooftop deck was phenomonal as we watched the sun go down and stars come up. With friends and family staying at the Cassitas, Condos and Casa Baja, it was the perfect intimate setting for a casual, low stress, magical wedding. Everything we needed, we found in San Felipe. The catering (Jesus and Stephanie up the street - phenomonal), the cake (Baja Java - better than any bakery in L.A.) the brides manicure and the grooms haircut, right down to the gifts for the wedding party, all right in town. Our goal was to have casual but classy wedding in a magical place, and I think we accomplished that and more, considering all of our guests want to return next year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Thanks so much for all of your help. Steve and Ash Ps. Around midnight we decided to take a stroll down to the beach, and low and behold, the phosphorescent plankton was in bloom - talk about magic on your wedding night. 20 or so wedding guest with pants rolled up or dresses held high, wading in the 72 degree water, completely amazed and glowing like Tinkerbell with every movement. Priceless. Steve & Ashley, Los Angeles, CA

This was my first trip to San Felipe and I loved it! The house was beautiful and the views are great. We loved the roof top BBQ. It was relaxing to sit up there and grill fresh seafood while watching the sunset. We were only there for a long weekend and decided our next trip will be at least a week or longer. This is the perfect location for a family trip. Close to town but just far enough out to be quiet and relaxing. I almost forgot to mention how beautiful the beach is. My 13 year old loved it. I highly recommend this trip. Randy & Shelli are great to work with. They are very nice and they give you alot of information. The directions are so easy to follow we were able to go right to the house and never had a problem. Thanks again Randy & Shelli for a great trip!

We stayed at Casa Sonora during the 2008 Baja 250 Race. We loved the location as it is still close to town but still far enough away for peace and quiet. The neighborhood is great and very safe. The beach is a short walking distance and was wonderful. We were very happy with the house as it was very clean and well maintained, the beds were very comfortable, the kitcehn was well stocked, the rooftop deck was wonderful with amazing views. We spent some time around the fire and BBQ'd on the deck. We will surely stay here again and look forward to coming back again this year.

Great casita with a great view and a wonderfull setting. Very cosy feeling for our short getaway to San Fellipe. We have stayed in San Felipe many times with its limited (nice) hotel's on the beach, we found our spot and will return. So go to DJ's market, get a good cut of beef and grill it on the roof top deck and take it all in. Enjoy! Thanks again Dan and Lia.

Truly a fantastic two month stay at the beautiful Casa Baja and Casa Sonora! We were able to stay in both!!Staying longer this time we were able to savor the views from the rooftop and spend more time at the beach...a quick walk! Our family joined us and are anxious to return again. The home has all the amenities of a first class hotel and yet is great for kids and adults. My wife enjoyed the excellent care from Arturro, resident property manager; he is at your beck and call. This is truly a grand location and we will return and recommend it often. This gorgeous home would appeal to all ages. From the luxuious linens to the rooftop views..truly a fantastic vacation. Our week was not long enough and we will return soon again to gaze at the breathtaking sunsets and sunrise. The location has a great balance between the deserted beaches and easy accessibility to San Felipe. Perfect directions!!! Randy made everything so easy! To have the personal attention of Arturo, Property Manager made things first class. Thank you Randy and Shelli for sharing your "Casa Baja" paradise with us. It could not have been better.

WOW! I think this is the best house, on the best street, in San Felipe. Just far enough outside of town to be quiet, and close enough to go into town and enjoy. The absolute best was BBQing shrimp on the roof, under the stars. Randy, the owner, was very responsive to our questions, and Arturo (property manager) was very responsive to our needs. We spent three weeks and their saying is right--"no bad days."

There are no words to describe the comfort of this vacation home. From the moment my family parked in front of the home it was nothing but positive comments about it. The owners have made sure to cover every possible detail so you feel right at home. We were there 4 nights and it was very hard to leave. We will definately be returning to this house or Casa Sonora which was rented by other family members and is very beautiful and comfortable.

We had a wonderful time and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the condo unit. Our kids really enjoyed the roof top patio at night to watch the moon rise and to gaze at the bright stars. We travel to Mexico often. By far, this condo is one of the cleanest and nicest places we stayed.

The trip to San Felipe was a pleasant surprise. The pictures of the home were wonderful but did not fully encapsulate the true warmth and welcome of this vacation rental. This home had a wonderful feeling from the moment we stepped foot into the courtyard. The property manager had ensured the air-conditioning cooled the house down before we arrived which was a blessing after the 4 hr. drive across the desert. He even stopped by the following day to check on us. The attention to detail in this home made it an easy decision to tell all our friends of our relaxing weekend rental and to promise ourselves a quick return. The sand at the nearly empty private beach was soft and the large beach palapas made it a great spot to bring a picnic to enjoy the surroundings. The wonderful neighbors were friendly and all said hello as they took their morning strolls. The night stars were brighter and more abundant than I have seen in a long time. You cannot go wrong with this vacation rental! The owners have provided all the comforts necessary for a relaxing and rejuvenating time out (including the blender for margaritas).
