comfortable cativating chalet

With its huge picture window, and large overhanging deck, the views are as great inside as outside. We deliberately woke up at dawn to see the sunrise and ate all our meals outside. Although too big to fit the description of a "cabin" in the woods, still that was the feel of it. The furnishings were modest and homey. Country folks and kids would be comfortable there. It had everything we needed and then some. The fireplace and some entertaining videos and even books added to our pleasure. The owner was easy to deal with and we have recommended this rental to others. My only concern would be for old people who are not steady on their feet because both the steps down from the parking lot and down to the boat dock are on a steep incline.

"Lake Almanor Serenity" the name says it all. This is possibly one of the best locations of all the lake front cabins in the country club. The views from the cabin and deck are breathtaking with morning sun and afternoon shade. The access to the boat dock is easy down the gentle slope to new aluminum stairs to the water. The cabin is comfortable and cozy with all the amenities needed. The large deck is the daily main family gathering area under the trees with all meals outside a must! The barbeque definately gets a workout. We've stayed here many times with the usual visitors of deer, canadian geese, raccons, squirrels, bluejays, quail, osprey and eagles. At night the bats come out to play and the stars are incredible. It's so clear, you can count the satellites as they float across the night sky. The country club offers two recreation areas with sandy beach swimming, boat launch, tennis courts, 9 hole golf course, basketball courts, volleyball courts and summer sunday barbeque and bandshell music! All of this within a short drive from the cabin. I recommend this place to all.

I most recently stayed in this house in early Nov. 2010 for a girls weekend away. The coziness and view were just as I had remembered from many years back when I had stayed in the cabin during the summer. This place is right on the lake with a terrific view, wonderful patio deck and grassy area cascading toward the water. Perfect for summer time lounging and tanning. As we were there in November, we didn't spend much time outside, but it reminded me of how terrific this place is for a summer vacation. We did, however, enjoy the view while sitting in the living room warmed by the wood stove. Bedrooms are comfortable, there's plenty of space and a pool table up in the loft...great for family vacation. Kitchen had everything we needed and was clean. The owner is more than accommodating if anything is found to be needed during the stay...all you have to do is call. I recommend this rental. Excellent price for the location and comfort!

My family and I have stayed at this cabin on many occasions over years. The location is fabulous! The cabin has everything we need. My boys love playing pool. I love sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. The kitchen is adequate, and well stocked. There is plenty of room for all of us to spread out. It's nice to sit by the fire on cooler nights. The cabin and grounds are clean and well kept. Jill has always offered us good suggestions about things to do nearby, and places to visit. Whenerver we go to Lake Almanor, we will always stay here. It is one of my boys' favorite places to be. I highly recommend it.

I have stayed at this property three times now. I just keep coming back for more! I love sitting out on the spacious deck looking out at the water, and the kids had a fabulous time diving off the dock. We even took our little sailboat up and took advantage of the lake breeze. The house is very spacious and so even with 8 of us I never felt crowded.

Dock not in working order. House not clean. Not enough blankets or utensils. Gate card didn't work. No liquid soap or laundry soap. Would not recommend this rental property to anybody.
Owner response:Guests: I've rented my home since 1997 and have many repeat guests and, aside from this review have had only positive reviews until this one which I will post asap. I've never solicited reviews because I've never needed to.I've had more requests for weekly and daily rentals than I can accommodate in the summer season. As well, I've never had a negative review posted until this one. I hope you read forthcoming positive review and do come and stay!
