We had a fantastic week in Kailua and found the cottage to be a perfect location with close proximity to several beaches and downtown. The cottage is comfortable and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We usually stay in four or five star hotels, but thoroughly enjoyed this casual island alternative. The only problem was the annoyingly loud pigeon who woke us up every morning at seven!

Owner response:Yes there are birds singing in the morning. Every once in a while there will be an annoying one. People usually get up early here to walk the beach and see the sunrise. It is truly beautiful.

After doing some research, my (now) husband and I settled on Kailua, Hawaii for our honeymoon locale. We could not have been more pleased with this cottage's sweet accomodations, accessibility to the (best) beach, and fabulously quaint town. Our stay was for 8 nights and we were so warmly welcomed by Lois and George, who also allowed my husband to get his piano "fix" while we did laundry. Almost every morning we walked along the beach to the Kalapawai Market for coffee and to play like locals. The market's approximation to the cottage is wonderful, too - such a great resource! Our location also afforded us easy access in the Jeep we rented to get anywhere on the island quite quickly. I recommend driving the coastal highway to get there ... the views are breathtaking. Kayaking, boogeyboarding and kiteboarding are all within a walk's distance on the beach.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kircher's Kottage to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary! We were there for 7 days after a week-long cruise between the islands. We chose Kailua for a time of relaxation and peacefulness after a busy week of cruising. The accomodations were perfect for us...everything we needed was available...and more! The beach was awesome....and the access is truly just across the street. We divided our days between there and Lanikai Beach. My only regret is that we didn't save much time to use the pool...as it was lovely. So much to see and do on Oahu...our days were filled! Mahalo, Lois and George, for providing us with our" home away from home"! It was the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.

I so enjoyed staying here while I visited my daughter. Your cottage is very homey and so conviently located close to the beach and Buzz's. Lois and George you are so very friendly and welcoming. The moment I walked inside it reminded me of my seaside cottage in Massachusetts. Such comfortable surroundings, a beautiful beach and such a lovely host and hostess. Although I am moving a "whole mile down the road" I know this was the most favorite setting during my 6 months in the islands. Thank you!

How lucky can we be! We rented this lovely little cottage through the internet, so had no idea what it would be like. Imagine ou delight when we arrived at 12:30 AM (4:30AM our time) to discover this little oasis! The bed is so comfortable and we felt very much at home, thanks to Lois and George. Hawaii is truly an amazing spot, and we wish it was closer to Toranto. We will pass this on to others about the cottage.
