Completely remodeled Historic Craftsman in the heart of downtown Bend. 'Lava Flo' is directly across the street from the McMenamins Old St. Francis School (which includes brewpubs, movie theater, Turkish baths) and in between to the Old Catholic Church and Montessori School.
It is an ideal setting for enjoying downtown, walking to restaurants, shops and the Deschutes River. The house has a private, fenced yard with tiered lava rock walls, with a hot tub and incredible amounts of space for entertaining or relaxing.
Inside, there are mountain views of Mt. Bachelor front bedroom. The full bathroom has a cast iron bathtub with vintage-inspired ceramic tile. There are original old-growth fir floors throughout, and environmentally-friendly marmoleum in the large kitchen. Flo oozes vintage charm and is furnished with new mid-century modern and machine-age vintage furniture.
All rentals include free passes to our neighbors, the McMenamins Old St. Francis soaking pools and Movie Theatre. We provide towels and instructions.
We use only environmentally friendly cleaning materials on the house and the bedding. We provide Seventh Generation products including hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and individually sized Essential Organics bath soap, shampoo and conditioner. We welcome dogs and have equipped the homes with useful information for enjoying Central Oregon with or without a four-legged companion.

Beautiful house in a convenient, downtown location. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious layout and the beautiful backyard: outdoor seating, lawn, Jacuzzi, and fire pit. The house was clean, comfortable, and well supplied- we felt right at home. Great communication with the owners made it easy to check in and out. I strongly recommend this home! We hope to stay again…Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway.

EXCELLENT...BEST RENTAL POOL IN BEND!! Stayed at Caldera & Lava flo. Caldera is more cozy, renovations are top notch. Well appointed. Quiet. Best downtown location. McMinnimans across the street.Extras include use of soaking tubs and pool. Can;t say enough about the staff and responce to needs, . Stay away from $100 or less per night, went to one on Lexington, no heat, no ADA no hot water. Blayne & Sue ChristianDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed in 'Lucinder' during the Bend film festival earlier this year. The location couldn't be better and the house was bright, comfortable and all around perfect for a vacation. Two weeks ago I went back to Bend with a few of my girlfriends one of whom brought her 2 dogs so we decided to stay in 'Lava Flo' and we are so glad we did!! I would recommend these places to anyone!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My dogs (2) and I loved this house, nice yard, hot tub and location. It was very quiet yet within a short walk to the heart of every thing. The owners have done a great job of restoring the home, making it comfortable while at the same time making it pet friendly. And - they even have a binder sitting and waiting for you on the table with pages of local shopping, dining and fun resources. Thank you - I would definetly come again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The first time we (my one year old daughter and I) stayed at Lavabelles we stayed in this house (with my sisters and mom, it was a ladies week together). I had heard it was nice, but I was pleasanlty surprised at just how clean, comfortable and kid friendly it was. It has character and depth that other hotels/rentals we've stayed in don't have, with modern amenities like the TV and wireless internet (usually, it seems, you have to sacrifice one for the other). I would definately stay in it again with a group of people. When it was just my husband, daughter, our dog Rudy and I (our second visit) we stayed in Laverne, the second house up the hill, which was also great, super cozy...Did you find this review helpful? I stayed here with some friends and a dog. Everything was perfect. I was really impressed with the location ---you really are IN downtown. The spacious house with the stylish decor and the hot tub in a really cool yard made this house the perfect oasis.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We have had a wonderful week enjoying the house and yard. Your book was full of fantastic ideas and we loved walking over to McMenamins for dinner. The dog walks were also great. The house was great and equipped superbly for families and dogs. What a gift to travel with our WHOLE family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
