My husband and I just returned from 6 nights in this wonderful cottage. The location is great for restaurants, shopping and public transportation. The cottage is nicely furnished and the bed is very comfortable. We are already planning our next stay.

We had a fantastic short break in San Francisco before heading off to explore other parts of California. This cottage was perfect for our needs - what a great find! It was exactly as it looks in the photos; much more spacious that a hotel room and furnished to a high standard, including an extremely comfortable bed. The location was great too - close enough to walk to key sights or pick up transport links, and nice to be staying in a residential rather than a tourist area to get a proper feel for the city.

The "Cottage" was perfect. Location was great, very clean and comfortable. It was truly our home away from home for our first visit to San Francisco. Our week was jam packed with many activities including riding the electric bikes over the Golden Gate Bridge, visiting Alcatraz, taking a walking tour of the city, riding the cable cars, taking a day trip to Yosemite, eating lots of delicious food(especially at Luisa's on Union St.) and taking a hot air balloon ride over Sonoma. What a treat it was to come home to the cozy cottage after our busy days. We enjoyed many mornings and evenings sitting outside in the garden area. Very quiet and comfortable. You don't know what you are missing. Definitely would recommend to my family and friends.

My husband and I spent five nights at the cottage and would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to other travellers. The location was superb, with Union St just around the corner.Fabulous eateries on Union and Chestnut and great boutique shops. We used the muni to Union Square and Haight Ashbury. Fisherman's Wharf was an easy walk also. Lovely to come home in the evenings to such a quiet and well set up cottage. It beats a hotel anyday.Great to be able to have kitchen and Laundry facilities. We'll be back!!!!! Thanks so much.

Romantic getaway

We just spent four nights at the cottage. It was fantastic, very clean, comfortable and inviting. You could not beat the location. Just a short stroll to Union Street to enjoy a lovely meal or a short stroll to the waterfront and all it has to offer. Also the muni bus is just around the corner which makes for easy access to anywhere you want to go in the city. The cottage was no hassel check in and in an excellent part of town. You will not be disappointed.

Quiet Retreat in a Wonderful Area of the City

The cottage is clean, well-maintained, comfortable, and welcoming. My husband and I returned to San Francisco for our 20th wedding anniversary and the Cow Hollow cottage made it a perfect trip. Plenty of excellent restaurants nearby on Union, Lombard, and Chestnut, as well as groceries, boutiques, and other amenities. It is a quick walk to the waterfront, and we had no trouble using the bus system to visit the ocean beaches, Golden Gate Park, the Haight, Chinatown, and other areas. After a full day exploring the city, it was a delight to come home to this perfect cottage, tucked away behind other buildings, so quiet and restful. It had absolutely everything we needed, and even though we only stayed a few days, it felt like home. It is even nicer than the photos, and the bed is much bigger than it appears in the picture - perfectly comfortable for two adults. We hope to be back soon!

Short walk down the lighted outside hallway and into this lush garden stands "The Cottage." Beautiful, roomy, well equipped and clean as a whistle. Everything we needed was there. The pics do not lie. Nearby happening Union St and all kinds of public transportation. Short walks to The Marina and Fisherman's Wharf. Highly recommend "The Cottage." Try Perrys on Union for a bite.

Stayed at this wonderful, cozy, very nicely furnished, cottage for 2+ weeks and wished I could have stayed longer. I began to think of it as "my nest." The photos are completely accurate. Perfect location. So many good shops and restaurants within walking distance. Owner friendly and helpful. I will definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay at this clean, clean, clean cottage. We felt welcomed by the fresh flowers; the beautiful garden setting was peaceful & protected from the wind. The location is excellent, close to shopping, restaurants & a bus stop which was helpful to us. We left our car in a nearby parking garage that was reasonably priced & convenient. The cottage is well equip with everything we needed & the good-sized walk in closet had plenty of storage space. We loved San Francisco & would definitely like to stay at this cottage again in the future.

We found this location exceptional. It was Clean and well maintained, it is close to shopping, resturants, and the bus line to wherever you want to go. Parking is an issue if you are driving, but there are two parking garages within three blocks. all in all this was a very enjoyable getaway and this cottage made it very easy.

This was the perfect spot for my week here in January. The cottage had a perfect layout ,good kitchen and very well kept up. A great romantic spot for two. Easy location close to all the Union Street shops and restaurants and easy walking to the Marina. There"s a very nice Natural food Market close by . This is a lovely place with a nice private feel and a garden perfect for morning coffee. I hope to be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. The cottage was well located for meeting up with family in the Marina and for exploring the rest of the city. This was our first but, hopefully, not last visit to "The Cottage." Everything was as nice or nicer than described and pictured in the listing. I don't know why, but, in the picture the bed appears smaller than the very comfortable queen size it is. The owner has taken great care in providing a lovely, comfortable, immaculately clean home-away-from-home with everything we could have wanted. The garden and deck were an added bonus which we really enjoyed. We hope to return soon.

Great, quiet cottage in the middle of San Francisco. We live in Boston and were shocked at how peaceful it was. We couldn't believe we were in the middle of the city. Great location close to Union St. to get breakfast and a good walking area. We will definitely stay here again when we visit SF.

This was the perfect place to stay. The location couldn't be better, a nice quiet street in the center of the best San Francisco has to offer. A 20 minute walk to Fisherman's Warf, 4 blocks from the grocery store, and close to the restaurants and shops on Union St. The garden/patio was our favorite part. We also found the property manager to be very easy to work with and very responsive to our questions about the property. We'll be back! Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage.

I love this cottage. The presentation is beautiful - there were fresh flowers on the table, the linens and towels are new & clean and you get slippers too. So much better than staying at a hotel. I've had such a wonderful time that I'm going to be recommending this place to all my friends. Love the neighborhood too. So close to some of the best streets in San Francisco - Union & Chestnut St.

Ah, what a retreat! I have stayed here twice and feel like it is my own personal getaway. You feel tucked away here, but you're steps away from the fullness of San Fran. The Cow Hollow / Marina area is so charming. The cottage is beautifully decorated, so comfortable, and the garden is a small haven. I even was visited regularly by a hummingbird when I was there the first week in March. I plan to return again and again and again. If you stay here once, you'll be sure to feel the same way!

I am currently staying at this cottage. I am enjoying it immensely. It is the perfect hideaway within the heart of one of my favorite neighborhoods in SF- close to great restaurants, bars and the Marina. It is small, but perfect for me or a couple. It also has a lovely outdoor garden/sitting area to enjoy the sun, or as I did last night, the stars. Well appointed and the property manager/owner extremely nice and available if need be. I will be back.
