This Chalet style mountain home in South Lake Tahoe was recently remodeled and is the perfect setting to come relax and enjoy the mountains and Lake. This wonderful home backs to a beautiful meadow which leads down to the South end of Beautiful Lake Tahoe. It is centrally located being just ten minutes from the Casinos, skiing at Heavenly Valley and short ten minute ride to Emerald Bay. Grocery Stores, Restaurants, golf courses, etc., are all with in a ten minute drive.
The New Redwood Deck is 24 feet x 32 feet with a BQ and patio furniture, night lighting, and great views of the Meadow, mountains and Lake. Large Windows cover the entire back wall providing views from the family/living room.

Why the Owner Chose Highland Woods
Lake Tahoe is beautiful, so many things to do. I use the house often and it is so comfortable there.. What better place to have a vacation home. I cycle a great deal, mountain bike, ride bike sking all around and being in the mountains, on this very big meadow with views of the surrounding mountains the sunsets are remarkable to watch right from the sofa in the main room...
The Unique Benefits at this House
All the things I mentioned above.. it is so very quit there, not much in the way of any cars and neighbors are perfect. My house is close to everything yet in an area that give you a since of no one around. being on the meadow I see bears and a lot of wild life.. the Large deck gives plenty of room to enjoy the views, spread out and have fun. this is just the right place to be if your looking to experience Tahoe like I like to do..

We had a fantastic time in this beautiful house on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Everything was as advertised...very welcoming and comfortable.

We had a wonderful experience. Most important, the house is well updated, very clean with spectacular views! The owner was very accessible and extremely helpful. I would give it more stars if I could. The location is perfect, close to Heavenly and south lake but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. We had a range from 22 yr old to 71 yr old and everyone was charmed by the property.

From the moment I emailed Gary about availability and his quick and attentive response, we knew this was the place for us. Gary was so helpful and even offered various driving directions for the remainder of our trip! The home is gorgeous, the view is beautiful, the beds are superb and the location is central to everything in Tahoe. Over and above this, Gary returned our security deposit within a day of departing. I am still waiting for a refund from another property we rented over a week ago! On behalf of my family, thank you Gary for accommodating us in your lovely home.

I'll keep this short. You must rent this place! We had to cancel our stay with less than 2 weeks notice and without hesitation Gary, the owner, offered to complete refund our money! We hope to one day have the opportunity to stay here. Oh, also, Gary's e-mails with descriptions and instructions regarding the place were extremely informative and detailed. You can tell he cares and knows how to deliver a fantastic rental.

a group of us stayed at the house on the meadow over the winter holidays. great location, super amenities, impeccably maintained. everything was as promised + more, gary very responsive as well. would definitely stay here on next visit to south shore!

I planned a trip to Tahoe for my fiances birthday and found this cabin. This was definately home away from home. Everything we needed was there, I even baked a birthday cake! It's been a good experience to work with Gary. I was able to call or e-mail him to take care of any details and we had our questions answered right away. This was a wonderful and relaxing small week-end trip. It was close to everything and was easy to find. We are definately looking forward to our next trip.

We stayed at this home over New Year's with four friends and had a great time. We weren’t sure if the old positive reviews still apply, but they do. This cozy home is as-pictured with a great view from the living room/kitchen. The well-stocked kitchen has all of the appliances and cookware you could need (we highly recommend cooking, the restaurants in Tahoe aren't great). Convenient washer/dryer, wifi, and a nice entertainment system with a good selection of DVDs. The TV is HD, but the cable is not so games/shows are standard-def. The new sauna is nice but small. The house is on a quiet suburban street, and is a short drive to the action at State Line/Heavenly. Bring snowshoes or cross country skis to explore the beautiful meadow out back. The owner is helpful and friendly. It's clean, with comfortable beds and lots of towels. Great shower in upstairs bathroom. It's warm/well heated, and there are humidifiers to help battle the dry air. We definitely preferred it over a condo or hotel. The only drawbacks are there is no hot tub or wood burning fireplace. It's a great cabin that is well priced. We are very picky and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

This was the second time we stayed and this property and again another great time. The only problem is getting the kids away from the Big Screen TV's. The chalet has everything you need for a wonderful family vacation. Close to the Y and its factory stores or a short walk to some great ice cream. Its a perfect location. The only flaw is the next door neighbors starting their diesel trucks at 6am and letting them idle for over 30 minutes. No global warming concerns there. Also take some bug spray for those friendly neighborhood mosquitos. But they don't eat much. Great deck to BBQ and enjoy the sunset or have your morning coffee. The upstairs shower is the best so take first dibs on that bedroom. And the owner Gary is a great host and caters to all your needs.

We loved this chalet! This home is amazing with wonderful amenities, view, rooms, fireplace...you name it! It was better than I had imagined. It was a surprise bday getaway trip for my boyfriend and he loved it! After hitting up the slopes, this was the best place to hibernate and recuperate from a long day of skiing/snowboarding. The master bedroom is great w/ a 42" inch flat screen, we enjoyed our movie time. Only downside is that we didnt stay in long enough. But we will be back! Gary was extremely awesome with accomodating our needs. Thank you again for making our trip extra special =)

The posted photos are a true representation. This home is nicely decorated and well maintained. Perfect for 8 people or less. Great location, private, close to skiing or casinos. Hiking, sleding and great mountain views in back of the home. Owner is very helpful and excellent to work with.
