BEAUTIFUL BLUE STONE STORYBOOK COTTAGE

Our 2 BR BLUE STONE STORY BOOK COTTAGE is one of a kind. Charming, rustic with modern conveniences, very comfortable, and visually stunning. Built in 1928 with the native Blue Stone from the quarry up the hill, it has gorgeous exposed stone work throughout the interior/exterior of the house. Notice the Chestnut wood beams in the living room and kitchen - they are taken from Dutch barns of the first settlers in the area. This cottage is very romantic. The second bedroom has a double bed for adults and a built-in (very safe) bunk bed that is shaped like a boat. The man who built the house was an illustrator for the US Navy. You can see his tasteful artistic touch all around the property.
IN THE SUMMER, enjoy breakfast in the sun on our blue stone patio overlooking the grape arbor and large tree lined yard. Or.. have a BBQ on the back patio near the kitchen, with your friends seated at our stone picnic table and fire pit. Badminton/croquet available. Hiking trails in the Catskill Mountains just minutes away. Hop on bikes and take the back roads just 10 minutes to the main Woodstock swimming hole. Walk to spa down the hill (.5 miles) for a massage and/or spa treatment. Walk to the Bear Cafe (a favorite!) or the Gypsy Wolf Mexican Cantina at bottom of hill. IN THE WINTER, take the snow shoes for a hike in the woods, or rent cross country skis from a local shop on route 28 and go have fun. Do all this, or just relax by the fire.
Located in Woodstock, NY (Catskills Mountains), just 1.5 miles from town center yet it's so remote it feels like you are away from everything. Walk or bike to restaurants, organic grocery/cafe, shopping, galleries, movie theater, and hiking trail. Less than two hundred yards from Sawkill Creek. Red River Spa is located 1/2 mile away. Film festival, folliage, skiing, swimming holes, fishing, hiking, biking, tubing, etc. All very nearby!

Why the Owner Chose Woodstock
We wanted a quiet get away from NYC. This is our dream vacation cottage. It is a unique 1920's blue stone beauty. It was love at first sight.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
We see a lot of music at the Bearsville Theater (just down the hill). Our house is in the woods and within walking distance to one of our favorite restaurants in all of NY (Bear Cafe). How amazing is that?
The Bearsville Theater Complex offers The Bear Cafe (an amazing restaurant), The Bearsville Theater (great music - world known artists), and Alchemy (a music venue, art gallery, coffee house)
Owner's Map of Woodstock
We love fishing, hiking, snow shoeing, biking, yoga, swimming... everything that Woodstock has to offer. We also love sitting at home by the fire watching movies. We bought this cottage so we could get away from the city. We've come to know, it truly is a necessity. If it wasn't for our cottage in Woodstock we may not have stayed in the city for so long.
