Bluestone Cottage - Woodstock, New York Travel Lodging BEAUTIFUL BLUE STONE STORYBOOK COTTAGE PLAN YOUR AUTUMN-WINTER GET AWAY NOW. Our 2 BR BLUE STONE STORY BOOK COTTAGE is one of a kind. Charming, rustic with modern conveniences, very comfortable, and visually stunning. Built in 1928 with the native Blue Stone from the quarry up the hill, it has gorgeous exposed stone work throughout the interior/exterior of the house. Notice the beams in the living room and kitchen - they are taken from Dutch barns of the first settlers in the area. This cottage is very romantic. The second (kid's) bedroom has a double futon for adults and a built-in (very safe) bunk bed is shaped like a boat. The man who built the house was an illustrator for the US Navy. You can see his tasteful artistic touch all around the property. Enjoy breakfast in the sun on our Blue stone patio looking over the big yard. Or.. have a BBQ on the back patio, seated at our stone picnic table. Great for BBQs, badminton, croquet. Snow shoes in the winter! Pefect for couples with 1 - 2 children. Located in Woodstock, NY (Catskills Mountains), just 1.5 miles from town center yet it's so remote it feels like you are away from everything. Walk or bike to restaurants, organic grocery/cafe, shopping, galleries, movie theater, and hiking trail. Less than two hundred yards from Sawkill Creek. Red River Spa is located 1/2 mile away. Film festival, folliage, skiing, swimming holes, fishing, hiking, biking, tubing, etc. All within minutes! ALSO, make it an event - Levon Helm's (The Band) "Midnight Ramble" is nearby! Google Levon Helm Midnight Ramble! That makes it a true Woodstock weekend! Hop on bikes and take the back roads just 10 minutes to main Woodstock swimming hole. Enjoy hiking in the Catskill Mountains, or just relaxing by the fire. Walk to spa down the hill for a massage and/or spa treatment. Walk to the Bear Cafe (a favorite!) or the Gypsy Wolf Mexican Cantina at bottom of hill. NEED MORE ROOM? ASK ABOUT OUR SECOND COTTAGE: THE "ARTIST COTTAGE". It was originally the old man's separate art studio made into a charming 2 BR cottage. Newly renovated - new bamboo floors, new kitchen, new bath. Great bedrooms. Big living and dining rooms.
