Welcome to our Amish log cabin in Wisconsin's Black River Falls area. Guests have said our cabin is cozy, comfortable and offers a sense of peaceful relaxation. We are located on one and a half acres of towering pines, with no neighbors right next door! Yet we are only minutes from Hatfield, hundreds of miles of the best ATV trails in the midwest, fishing, thousands of acres of prime county forest hunting land and all the area has to offer.

The area is a little bit of heaven for all you fishermen out there. Rivers, streams, lakes and flowages cover the area, so you'll have plenty of choices to catch the "big one." Many craft fairs and flea markets are held just miles from the cabin, or set aside the third weekend in September for Warrens annual Cranberry Fest! Maybe you'll want to try your luck at the Majestic Pines Casino? Some guests just want to to relax on the porch swing and watch the wildlife, read a book and get a nice fire going in the outside fire pit area.

Ladies, are have you been looking for a great place for a "Womens Only Vacation."? We've had a wonderful response from the ladies who have gone and said it was relaxing, enjoyable and just what they needed!

Why the Owner Chose Black River Falls

My husband and I built this log cabin with tree's we logged from the site and had milled with the local Amish. We have enjoyed learning log cabin building techniques from the Amish and buying great home-made candies from them too! The decorating inside is a fun mix of things we've picked up on our travels out west, from Alaka, from old barns, flea-markets and wonderful friends.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

My perfect stay at the cabin is,"turning off my phone, bringing a great book and reading it while I'm sitting on the porch swing, having a cup of coffee. Then dinner a local supper-club and a great night's sleep with the sounds of wind in the tree's."

Perfect for 2 or a whole family!

Guest: Lindeekay (Cedar Rapids, IA)

Beautiful and cozy, this little cabin feels like home. The comfy living room has 2 couches (one a hide away bed) and a good sized TV with DVD. The floors are heated. The little kitchen has all the utensils, cookware and dishes you might need, and dish towels and clothes are provided. Upstairs, the loft is roomy, and the beds are comfortable. Although the ceilings are slanted - watch your head! We roasted marshmallows in the fire pit, and explored the surrounding area. Nice park just outside of Black River Falls that has a great trail up to a peak where you can see out over the whole area. Lots of shopping opportunities in the surrounding communities as well. Would definitely like to go back!

Owner response:This is exactly the feel we were aiming for. It's a beautiful place for year-round fun!

Cozy but Adequate

Guest: T-Bone (Southern WI)
Date of Stay: 11/02/11 Review Submitted: 11/11/11

This cabin is cozy, but adequate, but the key word is cozy. Its basically 600 sq. ft. with a loft. The loft area with the beds, all 4 of them is cozy, I’m 6’ 1ā€ tall, I can stand straight up but only in the middle. If I wanted to put my shirt on I would have to sit on the bed so I would not hit my arms on the cathedral ceiling, the same goes for rolling over in the bed while sleeping. The cleaning lady only hits the high spots. The satellite dish system is not user friendly. This is the 3rd time we've used VRBO for vaction's in the past year and this is the only one that I would not recommend to any of my family or friends as a first choice. If you would like good food & service in Hatfield, skip The Mug and go straight to Lake Arbutus Sports Bar and Grill.

Great Ladies Weekend Getaway

Guest: Tanya (Milwaukee, WI)
Date of Stay: 02/10/11 Review Submitted: 03/01/11

I joined three friends for a weekend in this cabin. The initial impression of the beautiful log cabin was all it took to hook us for the weekend. The inside is clean and simply decorated. It has all the things you'd need for a vacation away from home. We watched a couple movies. (Luckily we brought our own because most of the movies in the cabin are hunting.) We played games and the layout was perfect for playing around the small table or moving the couch to play on the coffee table. We shoveled a little path on the back patio to grill out one night and even took a walk through the woods when it got nice and warm out. We never left the property all weekend and it was perfect! The fridge was stocked, the food was delicious and the heated floors were amazing! The loft area was all we needed for sleeping but it would be recommended to others to turn the heat down before bed. We woke up to a sauna one morning! This cabin was exactly as Jennifer said and we will definitely be considering it for our next girls weekend getaway. Thanks Jennifer!

Perfect little getaway!

Guest: Julie & Scott (SW Wisconsin)
Date of Stay: 10/10/08 Review Submitted: 10/21/08

My husband and I rented this cabin for a getaway for our 1st anniversary. We were lucky enough to hit peak autumn colors (it was GORGEOUS!), and had a fantastic time. The cabin is nestled in the trees. We loved spending time in the porch swing, exploring the area, and just relaxing! There was a fire pit with plenty of wood and kindling stacked up for us, and the cabin itself was very cozy. It even has heated floors for the chilly mornings, loved that! Thanks Jennifer, we had a great time!

Owner response:Wonderful! It was a spectacular fall for colors and it sounds like you made the most of it.

Excellent Cabin--Beautiful and Relaxing

Guest: Brett and Colleen (Shakopee, MN, USA)
Date of Stay: 10/01/08 Review Submitted: 10/09/08

My wife and I rented this cabin for 3 nights during the first week of October for part of our 5 year anniversary vacation. The cabin itself is beautiful, cozy, and peaceful. It's set rather close to a County Rd., however the road is lightly traveled and there is heavy tree coverage making it feel deep in the woods. The road is out of view once fully onto the property. The owner (Jennifer) was great to deal with and always willing to answer her phone for any questions. Black River Falls close by is an interesting and beautiful little city with a Super Wal-Mart where you can inexpensively stock up on groceries for your stay. We'd definitely go back to this cabin.

Owner response:Beautiful, cozy and peaceful is a great description of our log cabin. The area has great things to offer year round. We've had many people come for their anniversary and even a few honeymooners!

We loved your cabin. It is so quite and cozy. We enjoyed an adult 4 wheeler trip and would recommend it to anyone. It is beautiful and so peaceful up there. We enjoyed the shops in Black River Falls, especially the General Store. Cabin was very spacious and clean. Loved the outhouse out by the road!!!

Great cabin

Guest: papratzi (Madison, WI)
Date of Stay: 05/16/08 Review Submitted: 05/31/08

I came up here with some friends for a weekend and we had a very nice time. The place was clean and cozy. Extra blankets and cookware provided. There's a nice porch swing and a firepit (with benches and a wood stash). There were some unappealing pools of water nearby that seem like likely mosquito breeding grounds, no doubt partially the result of the cool, wet spring this year. The owner was accomodating and easy to work with. I'd like to own a cabin like this and will keep it in mind as a future destination.

Owner response:Spring is always a wet time in the area, but summer and fall tend to be quite a bit drier and of course we are open in winter as well. I'm glad to hear that everything else was clean, cozy and fun and we hope to see you soon!

2nd Choice turns out to be just fine!

Guest: DCRoeske (Chicago, IL, USA)
Date of Stay: 01/01/08 Review Submitted: 01/30/08

Our first cabin choice in Black River Falls had major issues with frozen pipes in the cold weather. I was able to contact this property, and Jennifer was very helpful in getting us into the cabin first thing in the morning. This was the perfect winter getaway place for our family and our 2 little dogs. The heated floors were so comfy to walk on , and the temperatures outside were around ZERO. The sleeping loft was charming-- and the cabin was just the right size for 4 adults and 2 small pets. We spent one afternoon shopping in downtown Black River Falls-- interesting antiques shops there. Another day we went to Bruce Mound for snow-tubing. That was a blast-- would be great for kids. We did most of our own cooking-- the kitchen was well equipped and we didn't want for any utensils or dishes. There is a huge Wal-mart in BRF and it was so easy to stock up for our stay. The only thing that took effort was washing the dishes. We didn't learn till the end of our stay that one of the kitchen cabinets was an island on wheels that could have been moved closer to the sink to wash and dry the dishes. The views thru the windows and french doors in the living room were very pretty and relaxing-- all woods, covered with snow. We'd recommend it and would definitely go back. Thanks!

Owner response:Thank you! I'm glad we had availability that weekend and were able to make your stay warm and welcome. I also need to remember to let people know that the wood island is on wheels! I had it built just for that reason! Thanks again and we look forward to having you another weekend. You'll have to try a few other seasons, as each one has it's very own beauty.
