A private guest house in the Denver foothills (elevation 7600 ft) with easy access to I-70 ( central Denver 25 minutes/Summit County ski areas 1 hour) . The private, two-bedroom cottage is in a secluded, mountain setting adjacent to Mount Vernon Country Club's protected "open space".The cottage has been beautifully designed and furnished. The upstairs master bedroom is large (400 sq ft) and is designed as a sitting/office area as well as a bedroom. There is a full private bath. The smaller bedroom located on the main floor has a double/queen bed and a full bath off the sitting area . The exterior has 2 defined areas: an east facing deck and a west facing shaded patio. Both areas are comfortably designed with outdoor furniture and provide great entertainment areas. The house is at the end of a dirt road thus eliminating all car traffic.
The guest house is perfect for one or two couples, a family of four, professionals needing extended stays,and people in the Evergreen,Golden,Genesee areas who need a private residence for visiting family and friends.

Our time on Lookout Mountain

My husband and I relocated to Colorado the first week in January and stayed at the guest house for 2 1/2 mths while we looked for a permanent place to live. It was an ideal situation since we were not overly familiar with the area. The house is extremely comfortable and has all the amenities that you would need. The owner is very easy going and has a vast knowledge of the area and all there is to do. The neighborhood is quiet and has a very relaxed atmosphere. There are breath taking views and we were lucky to have seen the magnificent Elk on more than a few mornings. They are something to experience. We highly recommend the Lookout Mountain guest house for a vacation or a place to stay while you are finding your home. I did not want to leave.

We recently spent 5 weeks in this cottage, and I can honestly say we loved the location and setting. It is a quiet, peaceful and very pretty place with daily visits from deer, less frequently elk and the occasional fox or rabbit, and horses can also be seen in nearby pastures. We were happy to find a pet friendly rental while looking for more permanent place to relocate to in the Denver area after moving from out of state. The house itself has everything you would need for a week's stay or a month, and there are great walks/hikes locally right outside the door. The owners are friendly and accomodating, and after a few weeks in the place we really felt at home there. Close to I 70 and the mountains, also easy distance from downtown Denver.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.
