We have a saying here in Maine - "If you are lucky enough to live in Maine, then you are lucky enough!" Maine's midcoast brings that saying to mind again and again with its rolling hills, picturesque rocky shores, and quaint harbor towns and we love to share that with our visitors.
Our old New England farmhouse, built in the 1890's, provides its visitors with the perfect location to experience all that the Midcoast has to offer. Stroll the shared back gardens at the farmhouse or relax with a cup of tea and a good book while gazing over beautiful Penobscot Bay. Take a walk one half mile to Lincolnville Beach where you'll find 4 restaurants, a variety of shops, the Islesboro Ferry terminal, and the only stretch of beach found along US Highway 1 in Maine. Hop in your car and drive 5 miles south into Camden, believed by many to be one of the prettiest of Maine's many harbor towns, or drive 12 miles north to Belfast to visit many of the shops, art galleries, and restaurants located in these beautiful New England towns. We are located only 3 miles from the entrance to Camden Hills State Park where you can drive to the top of Mt. Battie or put on your hiking boots for an invigorating walk through the hills overlooking the bay. The possibilities are endless. The Midcoast is home to the award-winning North Atlantic Blues Festival held in Rockland in mid-July, and the world famous Maine Lobster Festival held at the beginning of August. And if you would like to visit the Midcoast in the winter, then you can't miss the National Toboggan race at the Camden Snow Bowl ski resort held every February. Experience many of Maine's fairs, festivals, and other fun activities, each only a short car ride away.
The farmhouse rental unit has two second story bedrooms, a cozy livingroom, dine-in kitchen, full bathroom, and small library. We hope to be your home away from home while you explore Vacationland. Contact us if you would like more information or would like to see more interior pictures.
We look forward to hearing from you to plan your summer visit or just for a weekend getaway. |
