Restful Family Vacation!

This was the first time our family ever rented a home for a vacation trip. We were NOT disappointed. We wondered why we didn't do this sooner! Having no other experience to rate against, to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay, we have already booked our next vacation to stay here---to make sure no one else rents the home during our vacation time. This, 10 months in advance! The home was very spacious for our family of nine. Every thing was thought of as if it was our own home---including the store card for the local grocery store so we could get the discounts! Family members told us we had to pack everything we would need for the kitchen--soap, dish soap, dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper etc. when you rent a home. Not here! They cover everything (minus the laundry detergent) including birthday candles and skewers for the grill. It was clean, pleasantly decorated and the whole feel of the Stone Farmhouse gives you a feeling of privacy in the country. There is plenty of storage, dresser, and closet space for all. We rented during the cooler months so we didn't get a chance to use the pool but I can imagine how much fun it must be for anyone who does get to. It was so conveniently located to our purpose for going to vacation in PA. We would give the Stone Home a higher rating if we could and the incredible hospitality of the Poole family is exceptional. Don't stay in a hotel/motel. Come here for your next vacation---just don't take our time slot! Liane, MA

The home was very clean, the grounds very attractive, and the description very accurate. It was a lovely place to spend a quiet vacation or retreat. Finding it was quite difficult, roads were not marked correctly and we could find no one in the area that was familiar with the Stone Farmhouse. There could be better instructions as to how to find the location. We never saw the owners and everything was conducted via email or letters – very professional.
Owner response:We certainly enjoyed having these guests at The Stone Home. We regret when anyone has trouble finding the property. Virtually all guests use either Nav systems, Mapquest, or Smart phones to locate The Stone Home. These services will take one right to the property. If a guest doesn't have access to these devices, we welcome a call so we can talk them in.

We had a wonderful time at the Stone Farmhouse. It was beautiful, secluded, cozy, clean, and well-heated (we were there in the winter time). The owner was very nice, gave me an exhaustive list of things to do in the area, and was very responsive to my questions/inquiries. I'd highly recommend this house to any person or group of people who is hoping to spend some time in Lancaster.

This is a lovely, well equipped house in a great area with lots to do and see. Our party of 8 (2 families with young adult children) had a wonderful time, despite the 3 days of rain and there was plenty of room for us all. The good internet connection and audio visual equipment (including play station) were particularly appreciated by the younger members of the party. The comprehensive information provided for residents and the welcome pack, including home made cookies, were nice touches.

This is an awesome place to relax. Also to base out of for the Lancaster region. The minute we pulled into the long treed lined driveway we knew we were in for a treat. All 8 ladies loved the place. It was spacious and suited our needs well. It was not warm enough for us to use the pool...but it sure looked inviting! I have stayed at many vacation rentals and I can say that this is a first class accommodation. I would certainly recommend it as a place to spend a week! Also, any need that was brought up to the owners was addressed immediately. Oh yes and thanks for the homemade cookies upon arrival!!

My girlfriends & I stayed at this home last month for our annual shopping trip to the outlets. The home more than met our expectations...starting from the moment we walked in to be greeted by a plate of home baked cookies! Every room is so beautifully decorated & you feel like your in someone's home & not a rental. We definitely plan on staying there again.
Owner response:If a shopping excursion is in your future, you'll love the multitude of outlets within a short drive from the Stone Home. In addition, Lancaster City (10 mins) offers spectacular boutique and specialty shopping. Come see!

9 of us stayed in this house last July. It is a true gem and we are going to return. Owners very nice and run property with true professionalism. This was a great place to have a family vacation- many things to do in the surrounding areas.
Owner response:We enjoyed having Laura and her family at Shallowbrook Farm. Whether your interest is outlet shopping, historic architecture, amusement parks, Amish lifestyles, or just relaxing poolside in a pastoral county setting with no nearby neighbors, Shallowbrook Farm can be part of a memory-making vacation.
