Our family stayed for 4 nights in the Stone House to celebrate our daughters 5th and 10th birthdays. We had 6 adults and 2 children in the house and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. The property and home are visually stunning. It was peaceful and charming in character. The house was stocked with every thing that one could need while staying there. We used both of the homes fireplaces during our visit and were amazed at the amount of wood and other supplies that were there for us to use. The owners are professional and friendly. We highly recommend this property and are currently in the process of booking another stay in Lancaster. Thanks for sharing this amazing home/property with our family!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Stone Farmhouse. The park like setting of the horse farm, beautiful house grounds, fishing stream about 100 yards from the house and the wonderful pool were perfect for our family get away. The house and property were very clean and exceptionally maintained. There is lots to do in the Lancaster area and we enjoyed taking the grandsons (2 & 6) to Dutch Wonderland, a family Amish buggy ride, golf (recco Overlook GC), walking and biking to covered bridges, catching fish (little ones) in the stream and dining at Gibraltar's (nice restaurant) and Good and Plenty for tasty Amish dishes. Along with the pool, the screened in porch was super. Even though we had typical 90 degree July weather, the porch was the place for morning coffee and evening family dinners. The house comes with lots of pool toys, basketball, a shaded hammock, wireless internet, frisbees, games, BBQ grill, marshmallow sticks for the fire pit and everything a family needs for a relaxing vacation. They have thought of everything. It even had all the "baby support equipment" for the two year old. We all had a blast and highly recommend the Stone Farmhouse.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: We certainly appreciate these kind remarks. Our goal is for our guests to have an amazing and memorable experience at Shallowbrook Farm. Both Lancaster and Shallowbrook have much more to offer visitors than we could possibly mention here. Why not come to the Farm and experience a little piece of heaven?

We rented the house for a family vacation - 6 adults and 3 children. The home accommodated everyone with plenty of room to play games, watch videos, and just sit and enjoy nature. We enjoyed the new porch, grilled out a couple of times, swam in the pool 3 times and used the kitchen a few times. The house is very comfortable. We opted for the owner's linens - you will have to make your own bed. The only thing we found missing was soap and trash bags. Other than that, we had everything we needed to enjoy the week. The kids wanted us to live there! It is very quiet and the landscaping is immaculate. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a comfortable and luxurious setting. The pictures do not do it justice.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We felt at home as soon as we walked in! We stayed for Easter and were greeted by a box of locally made chocolates which were delish! The home was very clean and very comfortable. The yard was gorgeous (my kids ran around for hours) and the firepit was perfect on a chilly night. There were even marshmallow roasting forks available for our use and our children LOVED making smores! The ONLY reason I wouldnt recommend this home to anyone is because I want it all to MYSELF! It was a perfect place to spend this holiday and we have already discussed spending many more!Owner response: Thank you Tricia. We love it when our guests have an enjoyable and fullfilling experience. We too are looking forward to your return visit.

This was the first time our family ever rented a home for a vacation trip. We were NOT disappointed. We wondered why we didn't do this sooner! Having no other experience to rate against, to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay, we have already booked our next vacation to stay here---to make sure no one else rents the home during our vacation time. This, 10 months in advance! The home was very spacious for our family of nine. Every thing was thought of as if it was our own home---including the store card for the local grocery store so we could get the discounts! Family members told us we had to pack everything we would need for the kitchen--soap, dish soap, dish detergent, paper towels, toilet paper etc. when you rent a home. Not here! They cover everything (minus the laundry detergent) including birthday candles and skewers for the grill. It was clean, pleasantly decorated and the whole feel of the Stone Farmhouse gives you a feeling of privacy in the country. There is plenty of storage, dresser, and closet space for all. We rented during the cooler months so we didn't get a chance to use the pool but I can imagine how much fun it must be for anyone who does get to. It was so conveniently located to our purpose for going to vacation in PA. We would give the Stone Home a higher rating if we could and the incredible hospitality of the Poole family is exceptional. Don't stay in a hotel/motel. Come here for your next vacation---just don't take our time slot! Liane, MADid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The home was very clean, the grounds very attractive, and the description very accurate. It was a lovely place to spend a quiet vacation or retreat. Finding it was quite difficult, roads were not marked correctly and we could find no one in the area that was familiar with the Stone Farmhouse. There could be better instructions as to how to find the location. We never saw the owners and everything was conducted via email or letters – very professional.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: We certainly enjoyed having these guests at The Stone Home. We regret when anyone has trouble finding the property. Virtually all guests use either Nav systems, Mapquest, or Smart phones to locate The Stone Home. These services will take one right to the property. If a guest doesn't have access to these devices, we welcome a call so we can talk them in.

We had a wonderful time at the Stone Farmhouse. It was beautiful, secluded, cozy, clean, and well-heated (we were there in the winter time). The owner was very nice, gave me an exhaustive list of things to do in the area, and was very responsive to my questions/inquiries. I'd highly recommend this house to any person or group of people who is hoping to spend some time in Lancaster.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This is a lovely, well equipped house in a great area with lots to do and see. Our party of 8 (2 families with young adult children) had a wonderful time, despite the 3 days of rain and there was plenty of room for us all. The good internet connection and audio visual equipment (including play station) were particularly appreciated by the younger members of the party. The comprehensive information provided for residents and the welcome pack, including home made cookies, were nice touches.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
