This was our family's first vacation in North Carolina. A friend suggested Wilmington but I"m glad we went with Oak Island and this beach house. What a treat to have the ocean right out the back door! The kitchen and laundry made it so easy to just relax and not have to worry about where to eat every meal. The boy's loved digging for ghost crabs an male crabs and everything else in the surf. What a treat!

The sun was shining every day and we played on the beach morning and afternoon. Water temperature was perfect. We were here with our sons Daniel, Luke and daughter Elizabeth, as well as our daughter Sarah and her husband and our 14 month old grand-daughter, Isabel who loved the sand and the water. There was plenty of room for all of us. Brad wanted me to comment on how nice the kitchen is. My favorite amenity is the porch swing - great for morning coffee and for curling up with a book. The sun was just right as well as the waves! We stayed in the Po Boy about 8 or 9 years ago and it has been just as special as it was then. The improvements you have made are great! We had great weather the entire week except the last day. It was very comfortable and able to accommodate all 8 of us. We really enjoyed the porch swing it was a great asset to the house. We stayed on the beach everyday and cooked in every night. The kitchen was well equipped for in house dining. Thank you for sharing this lovely cottage with our family and friends! Spending Christmas on Oak Island is like having the beach to yourself..It's really nice to walk on the beach and enjoy the sights and sounds and see anyone around!!! You find a lot of really cool shells when you're the only ones out looking.The weather this year was great in the low to mid 50's with hardly any wind. We grilled out two nights with no problem or heavy coats. Thanks again for letting us use your home and spending a great holiday season.
