Around the Bend Cabin, constructed with authentic western red cedar logs, features cathedral ceilings and a stone fireplace inside, and a wrap-around porch to take in the view of the surrounding mountains & woods outside. Sharing a private road with only two other cabins, the prime Valle Crucis location is just minutes from most attractions.
Our sunny cabin features three bedrooms plus a children’s loft and three full bathrooms. The master suite, located upstairs, has a king bed and a bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. Children love the loft area, with their own tv, where they can play games on the Gamecube, or unfold the sleeper and take in a movie. The main level has two additional bedrooms, one with queen bed and private bath with a walk-in shower; the second bedroom with two twin beds. The third bathroom is located on this level as well.
Step outside onto the wraparound porch, the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, or take a moonlight dip in the large hot tub. Go hiking on the property's wooded acreage, then relax inside while you snuggle into the sofa or recliners and watch the flat-screen HDTV. All four of the TV's in this home feature cable, and there are VHS and DVD players as well. Bring your laptop and take advantage of the free wireless internet! The open floor plan of the main level is perfect for family interaction, and the large windows and cathedral ceilings keep this home bright and sunny. There are toys, games, books and video's for the whole family to enjoy. And take the chill off in winter with a crackling fire in the stone fireplace.
If you enjoy cooking, then you will find our kitchen fully stocked with all modern appliances including a dishwasher. The barbeque chef of the family will want to throw some steaks on the gas grill. Our cabin comes with fresh linens, towels and toiletries. You will feel pampered by our fluffy, hypo-allergenic pillowtops on all new mattresses. We also accommodate you with a washer/dryer. In the winter months we provide firewood, and, though it's not needed too much in our cool mountain elevation, you may enjoy our central air conditioning on a warm summer day.
When you are ready to leave the comforts of our cozy log cabin, you will find the famous Mast General Store less than 2 miles away! Within minutes are Boone, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, ASU, the Blue Ridge Parkway, four ski resorts and countless other attractions. Conveniently, supermarkets and restaurants are very close. Golfers, bring your clubs, the Willow Valley course is a two minute drive...just one mile. Fishing is just a short walk or drive to the Watauga River. The wonderful thing about our cabin is the privacy our wooded, mountain setting offers, and yet you are just 6 miles from downtown Boone.
We strive to keep our cabin hypo-allergenic, and do not allow pets or smoking anywhere on the property, sorry.
Around the Bend has paved access all the way to the cabin driveway. While we are about 3000 ft. up, 4-wheel drive is not needed here, even in winter! So come, relax, and experience a little bit of magic...it’s all just “Around the Bend!”

2/29/08 - 3/3/08 Dear Russotto Family, Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! This is our first getaway for the two of us since our son was born 2 years ago. We are enjoying everything, especially the fireplace and the hot tub! We've had great food too! Our favorites included Creekside Deli, Roca's Antler Bar in Blowing Rock, and Daniel Boone Inn.
